- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She wasn’t sure why she was running, yet for some reason it was comforting to her in this moment. Well, not so much comforting as she’ll admit to having no love for running…however it gave her something to do in order to take her mind off of her life. So much had happened over the past few months…hell the past year and a half…that sometimes she just needed to get away from it all. Lexi and Stefan were at her house where she probably should be but she couldn’t stay cooped up any longer. Stefan had been sleeping when she left so she told Lexi she was headed out and figured a run would be the best thing to do. Get herself so tired that she fell asleep when she got home.
Or at least that was the plan anyway…god knows if it would work or not.
If anyone saw her right now they would know immediately that she wasn't feeling quite like herself. Sure she was usually fairly casual in what she looked like, preferring jeans and t-shirts to fancy outfits but still, this was a bit under the top so to speak, even for her. A bright blue sports bra paired with a black tank top and black with blue on the top yoga pants made her look like she was heading to yoga, rather than going for a run. Before she had left she threw on a pair of fairly new Nike Shox (which she was regretting now as they were already starting to hurt her feet as she hadn't taken the time to break them in) and a blue Hollister hoodie she looked more casual than normal...which was a sign that she wasn't feeling at all up for company.
Realizing that she had run a lot further than she had intended she stopped and looked around, realizing exactly where she was. Old Fell's Church. This place didn't exactly bring out warm and fuzzy memories for her, and yet for some reason the church...or rather what lay beneath it...fascinated her.
Taking her ear buds out of her ears and pocketing her iPod, she walked over to where she knew there were stairs leading down. Walking down them carefully she couldn't fully suppress the shiver that went through her. It had been a few months since she had been here, really not caring to come anywhere near the place after Katherine was released from the tomb thanks to Alaric and her daggering Elijah.
Her hand touched the walls lightly before dropping her hand, going over to the entrance of the tomb and sitting down next to it. Her position mirrored the one she had sat in only months before hand when she had visited Katherine to get information on Klaus. She wasn't sure why she was there...but something told her it wouldn't be for nothing if she waited long enough.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He groaned as he continued to run. He was in good shape, no way around it, but he still got short of breath, something that he was now. He had ran about ten miles that morning simply to clear his head and to get ready for the football game he had next week. They had a bi week the past week so none of them had practiced or had any games…which meant a lot of the team had been fairly lazy. It wasn’t something that they normally did as what teenage guy didn’t want to be in shape, but still, it was nice to have the option to just hang out and relax.
Unfortunately he was paying for it now.
He looked down and groaned at how bad he looked. His clothing were completely soaked through. He had a simple Nike hoodie on (and a t-shirt underneath it) and a pair of Nike basketball shorts on. His orange, black and gray running shoes had seen better days but they were the most comfortable shoes in the entire world and he would admit to no one but himself that at the moment he didn't have the money to replace them. He worked enough hours at the Grill simply to make ends meet since his mom had split and that meant that he had to use things until he couldn't anymore. He didn't like it but that was just how the world worked in his life.
His music from his iPod blared in his ears as he continued to run, the beat of his shoes matching that of the beat from his earbuds. Up ahead he noticed someone else doing the same as he was, running, though it looked as if the woman, whom looked familiar but he couldn’t tell who it was from the back, was running away from something and not for fun or exercise as he was.
Seeing the way she was going he followed her, realizing after a moment who it was. He thought about catching up to her and asking her what exactly she was doing running alone, but he figured it would be hypocritical of him so figured he would wait until she stopped. However she didn’t stop, instead she headed down the steps after reaching Old Fells Church and he followed. He waited a few moments before making his self known, not wanting to startle her. “So why are you Ms. Elena Gilbert sitting down here in the dark all by yourself?” He asked her, a smile on his face though his eyes shown with worry for his ex girlfriend.
Something wasn’t right…and he as one of her oldest friends, was determined to figure out what it was.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Sitting against the wall that was directly in front of the opening to the tomb she briefly thought about the amount of people who had been within its confines. First of all the vampires who had been meant to burn in the 1864 fire at the church had spent over a hundred and some odd years in that tomb...not being able to feed or to leave. She couldn't imagine what it was like to desiccate...but really didn't want to know either. She knew that she had played that card with Katherine, but she really had no idea what it felt like...and she preferred it that way.
After the tomb vampires had been released, Katherine had been sentenced to it...though she had meant to be in there originally. Katherine was certainly crafty, craftier than anyone probably realized...so the fact that she hadn't been in the tomb to begin with really didn't surprise her now that she knew her. The worst person to be sentenced to the tomb was Stefan, and to this day she felt guilty about it. He had ran in, knowing he wouldn't be able to get out and yet when he heard her scream he couldn't just stick around and not do anything.
Luckily he had gotten out that time but the second time he hadn't been so lucky. He had gone in there, not for her, but for her brother...and had stayed in there for over a week until Elijah could get the Martins to let him out.
It had been one of the longest periods of time of her life...only being topped by the recent stint of 'Ripper Stefan'.
Hearing a familiar voice saying her name she looked up and saw her ex boyfriend's smile, asking her what she was doing here in the dark all by herself. She laughed. "I could ask you the same thing Mr. Donovan." She told him, patting the wall next to her, though he decided to sit across from her against the other wall at the entrance to the tomb. "Honestly, I needed to get away for a bit and it was either this or the caves under the town. I had a bad experience there recently and didn't really feel like repeating that, hence here." She told him honestly. She wouldn't tell him about her bad experience, she would just let him think it was when Rebekah had kidnapped her, but in all reality that wasn't the case.
"What about you?" She asked him, before nodding at his outfit. "Looks like you were working out, what made you come down here?" She asked before furrowing her brow. "I didn't even know you had been down here before." She stated honestly.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He chuckled when Elena turned the attention back to him. That had always been her and in a way that was one of the things that caused him to fall in love with her. The fact that while her whole being shown like a beacon of light to those around her, she preferred to stay out of the spotlight and allow those that she loved to take up the throne. She was a cheerleader but never protested about being captain, allowing Caroline to take over that spot without even trying to challenge her. She ran for Miss Mystic Falls but was properly excited when Caroline won, knowing that her friend truly deserved it.
Elena was one of those people who tried to stay out of the middle of things, wanting to rather live her own life as best as she could, but she seemed to be right in the thick of it but it wasn’t for the desire to do so…it just seemed to happen naturally to her. The supernatural craziness was just the tip of the ice berg…though it was the largest thing that he could think of. Even if she wouldn’t have fallen in love with Stefan, she was still the doppelganger, and that as far as they knew had nothing to do with Stefan…so either way she was stuck in the middle of it.
There was a small part of him that screamed out if it wouldn’t have been for Stefan they would have never known about that part of her and they could have all gone on living normal happy lives, but he wasn’t naive enough to truly believe it, so he usually ignored that small voice…though he’d admit to listening to it a few more times than he probably should have.
He heard her statement about having a bad experience in the caves and he simply quirked an eyebrow but didn't pry. He had a feeling it was more than the whole Rebekah thing but didn't pry, knowing that if she truly wanted to tell him that she would. That was one thing about their relationship that hadn’t changed...whether they were together or just friends... he still knew her better than most people.
Chuckling at her question he nodded. “Yeah, I was working out but saw a familiar back running, something that she never does, so I figured I would be a creeper like everyone else seems to be recently and follow you.” He told her with a grin, letting her know that he might be serious but he was still only joking in certain respects. “So tell me, what’s going on with you…and don’t tell me nothing as I know that’s not true.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Oh BALLS!" Caroline exclaimed, watching her pretty darned new Iphone sliding underneath her bed. It was just her luck. Lately it'd seemed like she couldn't keep the damn thing in her hand. Perhaps because it was so slender and thin. Whatever the reason it was royally pissing her off. She'd been trying to send a text message to Elena, but screw it at this point. Deciding to simply protest the phone itself she huffed to herself and walked away. It was no secret that she was annoyed. Not that anyone would notice, as she was home alone anyways. Her mother was out doing Sheriff type things. Elena was, well she hadn't a clue what the hell Elena was doing. In fact she hadn't seen her in awhile. Dean was busy doing some kind of case with his brother, and probably Jo (grrr). Bonnie never talked to her anymore. Matt....well she hadn't seen Matt since their weekend out of town. Talk about awkward....
Deciding to go for a walk and maybe even catch a bunny or two, she threw on a hoodie and a pair of uggs. Bunnies were honestly disgusting and she had trouble getting them down. However she hadn't been able to get any from the blood bank and she was running low, so she wanted to make it last. Perhaps a furry little snack would help her feel better. So sad though. Caroline loved bunnies. Driving over to the woods, she left her car in a small clearing and locked it behind her. In a blur she was out in the woods and hunting. It was odd how animals seemed to know what she was. In the distance a deer spotted her and stared, before turning and getting the hell out of dodge. Caroline wasn't going to kill an entire deer all for herself. No, she wasn't that hungry. Just a simple snack would do.
Stomach rumbling, she allowed her face to change for a moment and closed her eyes. She was trying to pick up the scent of one of the animals. However another scent hit her first; Elena's. Maybe Matt's too? Allowing her face to change back to normal she sped off in the direction of the scents. Which surprisingly enough brought her to the tomb that had held a bunch of vampires. Why are Matt and Elena hanging out, alone, in the tomb? Questions wandered through her mind as she silently strode down the stairs. "Elena? Matt? Are you guys down here?" she called out into the darkness, wondering what the hell they were doing down here. It was creepy! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Elena, Matt ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 448 ::NOTES:: Three besties all together <3

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She laughed at hearing that he had followed her down there. It shouldn’t surprise her to be honest because that was what Mat used to do when they were kids as well as when they had been together. She still remembered two instances that stuck out in her mind. The first when they were kids. She had ran away from home because she was mad that her mom wouldn’t let her have a cookie before dinner. Looking back on it now she realized how ridiculous hat was but when she was seven it was a very big deal to her. Matt apparently had been on his way to see her (back before it became too dangerous for children to walk down the street by themselves) and had seen her run off. He hadn’t intercepted her, instead he followed her into a tree house that her father had built them on the edge of the woods. He had simply sat with her until she was ready to go home and then walked her there, her mother freaking out until she saw the two kids.
The other time was only a couple months before she and him had broken up. She had been mad at Jeremy for whatever reason (she couldn’t remember now) and had stormed out, heading to the falls. Matt had found her there because of her SUV at the time and had followed her footsteps until he found her. It wasn’t something that had happened recently but Matt had always been someone who would find her and make sure she was alright, and if she were honest she’d missed that.
Hearing his question she sighed, not knowing where to begin. “It’s just everything honestly.” She told him. “I mean between the original family being here and losing Jenna and John, not really ever getting over the loss of my parents…to Jeremy having to grow up too fast, to all of us having to grow up to fast. My mind’s just constantly racing and I don’t know how to quiet it down.” She continued on, wanting more than anything to tell someone about Stefan getting his humanity flipped back on but not knowing if she should endanger anyone by releasing that information to anyone.
Before she could make up her mind she heard a familiar voice calling to see if she and Matt were down here. She shot Matt a look and was almost amused by the look of embarrassment and maybe a bit of fear on his face? He didn’t answer though and she figured someone better so instead she called out to her friend. “Yeah Caroline we’re down here.” She stated, refusing to get up. Surprisingly enough the wall on the outside of the tomb was fairly comfortable and she had come down here to think after all…that didn’t mean she had to do it alone.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He watched as something took Elena into her thoughts, something that he recognized after all the time they had spent together. She was the type of person to often get lost in the past. It had been something that he used to kid her about, because it usually happened when she was writing in her diary. No matter how close they had been she had never let him read it, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t spend time with her while she was writing. He could clearly remember many nights when they had been hanging out on the couch, him playing a video game or reading a book, and her writing. He missed times like that.
He waited for her to pull herself out of whatever thoughts had grabbed her, and surprisingly enough it didn’t take long. He listened as she tried to explain what was going on with her, seemingly stopping herself from giving he real answer. “Okay, I get that, I do, but that’s not all that’s bothering you. Something else is going on and it’s been going on for awhile. I know you miss Stefan and I know you’re worried about Jer…but you can’t control either one of those. Jeremy was bound to grow up, just like we all were. Between Damon and Lexi, I’m sure they’ll find a way to get Stefan back to normal…or whatever exactly normal is for a vampire. You just got to have faith. Isn’t that what you always remind us whenever we’re feeling bad? Just have faith.” He told her, reaching over to grab her hand to give it a brief squeeze before releasing it.
Elena seemed to want to say something else but before she could they both heard a voice call out and he froze. He would know that voice anywhere, it belonged to Caroline. He and Caroline had successfully avoided one another ever since their whatever you wanted to call it back in Richmond a few weeks prior too. He had known at the time that it was just a one time thing but that didn’t mean it made it any easier. Especially since he had heard from several of the football players that she had been seen around town with some older guy and they had seemed quite cozy. It bothered him more than he’d care to admit but what exactly was he going to do about it?
Before he could say anything Elena did it for him, calling out to Caroline. He shot her a glare but he didn’t think she saw it. Things were about to get real awkward.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - It took a few moments for someone to answer her. At first it had her wondering if perhaps she'd interrupted something or not. Maybe they didn't want her there? Probably not, as her and Elena hadn't seen each other in awhile. Both of them had been busy with their own lives. Elena had been focusing on helping Stefan get better and making up for missed time, or whatever the hell you wanted to call it. Probably having sex like bunnies. The thought made her giggle. And as for Matt...well jesus she didn't really even want to let her thoughts wander on that one. They hadn't talked since their little rendezvous in Richmond when they stayed their for their games. It had been an amazing weekend and let's just say...her body had agreed. However they hadn't seen each other since then, and she was now officially seeing Dean. They weren't boyfriend and girlfriend or anything but they'd consummated their relationship...more than once. Let's just say things were complicated.
Finally reaching the bottom of the steps she heard Elena call out to her. Vaguely she wondered if she'd only imagined Matt's voice, but finally seen him when she rounded a corner. Her eyes immediately shifted right off him and onto Elena. "What're you guys doing down here?" she asked, forking up the best smile she could manage. Absently her hands slid into the pocket of her hoodie as she stood before them, fidgeting. It was unusual for her but she was feeling very uneasy around Matt. Awkward was an understatement in this situation. She could only hope that Elena wouldn't pick up on it, she didn't feel like playing a million questions.
Looking around, anywhere but Matt really, she couldn't help but subconsciously twiddle her thumbs inside of the hoodie pocket. Who would have thought that mind blowing sex would turn out so awkward with your ex-boyfriend. Most people could have guessed that one, not me though, because apparently...I'm an idiot. Trying to think about anything but that, she turned back to Elena. "How's Stefan by the way? Less-bitey?" she asked, offering her another smile. It'd been awhile since she'd seen her best friend, and despite being uneasy right now, she was happy nonetheless. Strolling over to Elena she turned so her back was against the wall and slid down onto her behind. "If I'd known you guys were down here, I would have brought alcohol" she said seriously, wishing she had some right now. Let's be honest...it made everything instantly not awkward and would have been perfect for this situation. Damn it... So unprepared. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Elena, Matt ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 455 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She wanted to reply to Matt's statements but before she could she heard Caroline's voice. She knew that Caroline would be offended if she didn't say anything so that fueled her decision to call out to her to let her know where they were. She could tell that Matt was uncomfortable with the thought of Caroline coming down to where they were seated but she had no time to ask him what was going on. She knew that things had been a bit strained between the two since they had broken up but as far as she knew they had gotten over that and had become friends again…or at least civil towards one another.
She caught the glare that he sent her but didn't reply to it, instead pretending she hadn't seen it. She didn't feel like getting into it with him, especially since she had no idea why he was glaring at her in the first place.
She was surprised when Caroline seemed to ignore Matt’s presence completely and focused on her, asking her what they were doing down at the entrance of the tomb. Granted, this was definitely a viable question since who in their right mind would spend time here where so many vampires had once been trapped for 145 years. She was not a huge fan of this place to be honest, especially since at one time Stefan was trapped within it…with Katherine none the less who at the time wanted nothing more than to get into her boyfriend’s pants…however she refused to think about that now since for the moment anyway she and Katherine had made amends, at least as much as they could. She hadn’t seen Katherine in a few weeks though she knew that she had been busy and trying as best as she could to not let Klaus know that she was back in town.
Or at least that’s the last she had heard…but again…it had been a couple of weeks since she had spoken to her.
“Sort of a funny story.” She stated, laughing, though it was strained from the tension in the room between two of her best friends. “I was working out only because I had nothing better to do and apparently so was Matt so he saw me running and followed me.” She told her with a shrug. “What about you, you don’t look like you were working out so what brings you to this lovely spot?” She asked with a laugh before biting her lip, wanting to answer honestly but knowing she had to keep quiet. “Lexi is working on figuring out a way to make him flip the switch back on but for now at least he’s not hurting anyone.” She stated, hating lying to her friends but knowing that she had to keep things quiet if she wanted to protect everyone.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Yeah, this was definitely awkward. For a brief moment he wished that he hadn’t followed Elena, but he dismissed that thought quickly. He would have never forgiven himself if he hadn’t followed her and something had happened and she had gotten hurt. That was just the type of person that he was and unfortunately he knew that it couldn’t be changed. Even when he was pissed off at someone, he still cared about them, which was one of his biggest faults according to his sister before she died. Vicky had never really cared about anyone other than a few immediate friends, where as he tended to care for everyone and anyone.
Then again, he really didn’t care what happened to Klaus or his siblings, but that was neither here nor there.
He noticed that Caroline wasn’t paying a bit of attention to him and he really couldn’t blame her. He knew when it had happened that things were going to get awkward but he really didn’t like the fact that it was this awkward. He figured he was the one who had to be the man (which seeing as he was the only man in the area this was probably a good thing) he took a deep breath and sighed, waiting for Elena to continue before adding on. “Because apparently I’m a stalker now.” He stated with a laugh, smiling at Caroline in hello. He hoped that they could get past the awkwardness that was quickly filling the open space but he really had no idea how to do it without coming clean in front of Elena about what happened.
As soon as Elena said what she had about Stefan he knew it was a lie. Elena couldn't lie for anything to begin with, but adding the fact that he had known her for what seemed like a hundred years (though in reality it had only been about 15 or so), it was impossible for her to lie to him. He briefly thought about not calling her out on it but unfortunately if he didn't he had a feeling that if he didn't make some sort of conversation the awkwardness was going to continue to escalate. Unfortunately before he could say anything Caroline did, saying that she should have brought alcohol. Perfect segue in his opinion.
“Yeah, maybe alcohol would make Elena remember that she can’t lie for anything and instead let her just speak the truth instead of trying to cover it up.” He stated, shooting her a pointed look to let her know that he in no way believed what she said about Stefan. “So about the truth.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts of alcohol continued to roll through her mind as she pretended Matt didn't exist. Was she being harsh? She wasn't really sure as she couldn't look at him to gauge his reaction. Perhaps she should have just grown up and gotten over it but she couldn't. A part of her hadn't ever wanted to lose him. If he hadn't freaked out and not been able to handle her turning, they still would have been together. Or at least she felt like they would have been. She'd always love Matt but the weekend they'd slept together was a mistake. Clearly so, if one took into consideration how they were acting right now. She would have rather suppressed her hormones if she'd known it'd turn out like this between them. Her only hope was that Elena wouldn't notice...
Eyes widening at the thought of her friend working out, she supposed she probably could have figured that out on her own if she'd been paying attention. After all her best friend was in work out clothes. "Elena Gilbert working out? Have you been drinking without me?" With a giggle or two, she found herself enjoying herself. Plus hello, the thought of Elena working out on her own free will was kind of entertaining. Elena was a writer not an athlete. At the mention of Matt she merely nodded with the best smile she could muster up. Just the mention of his name made her remember that night. Writhing against each other, moaning, groaning, crying out each other's name...jesus. She really needed to ask Bonnie to help her forget about that. It'd been etched into her brain since it'd happened. And then he smiled at her, and she completely melted, all of the awkwardness disappearing nearly instantly. "That doesn't really surprise me" she said jokingly, returning his smile and flashing her own pearly whites.
With a shrug of her shoulders, she looked away before looking back to Elena. "I may, or I may not, have been hunting for bunnies" she said with a frown. "I can't help it! Damon has been completely MIA and he usually picks up my blood from me. Or more or less, he gets some and I steal from him. But yeah" she said nervously. She hated that she had to tell her friends she was literally hunting bunnies to drain them of their blood. God, what had her life become these days? It was just crazy to think about.
The way Elena tensed at her question kind of surprised her, but she let it go for the moment. However Matt...did not let it go, and in fact called her out on the spot. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped into an O. Very slowly she turned to face her best friend, shocked at what had just happened. However the dramatic side got the best of her and she shook her head as if to encourage Elena to continue. "Yeah Elena, spill it or a bunny dies!" she said, trying to lighten up the conversation a bit but also get down to the truth. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She let out a laugh when Matt commented on being a stalker. “Well you know, you are a bit of a creeper. Especially during Halloween, you always did have a knack for picking very strange and creepy costumes.” She told him with a mock solemn look on her face. It was true though, Matt had a tendency to pick out the strangest costumes for Halloween, though the past two years hadn’t been up to his usual standard. She’d never say it out loud but when they were together and he picked out the nurse costume she had a feeling it wasn’t exactly because of Halloween but she had never said a word and thankfully she kept that little tidbit to herself.
Another laugh left her lips when Caroline asked if they had been drinking without her. “Nah, I’m being forced into a strict workout regiment by the slave master that is Alaric.” She stated with a roll of her eyes. “When I asked him to help me train to kill vampires after everything happened with Klaus, he took it upon himself to tell me that I packed absolutely no power into a punch because I wasn’t strong enough to do so. This apparently made him so annoyed that he gave me strict orders to work out and build up strength in order to protect myself.” She stated dryly, clearing showing her displeasure at being called ‘weak’. “I told him he was going to give me a complex if he didn’t stop calling me weak, to which of course Damon, who was there when Alaric told me all of this by the way, laughed at me.” She informed them, her lips pouting out slightly at the memory before schooling her features back into their normal place.
A small laugh let loose when Caroline whined about hunting bunnies and Damon being MIA. “Not sure what’s been going on with him but it’s definitely something as he’s not returning my phone calls either.”
Unfortunately her laughing subsided rather quickly when Matt commented on not covering the truth up and instead letting it out. "What do you mean?" She asked, trying to play dumb but knowing it would have no effect. Unfortunately because she and Matt had been friends for so long and then had been together, then had made their way back to being friends, he knew her better than she knew herself sometimes. He had confided in her once that she had a tell that told him when she was lying but he had never given up what it was. She wondered if she still had it or if he just knew her well enough to know when she was lying. She made a mental note to look into that before turning her attention back to two of her best friends, wondering how she could get out of this without completely screwing herself (and Stefan) over.
Taking a deep breath she let it out slowly before looking at both of her friends with an apologetic glance. “I can’t tell you everything…only because I promised I wouldn’t. Suffice to say that we are all working on getting Stefan back to normal and that’s all I can say.” She whispered, not wanting to cause a fight but refusing to back down and put anyone she loved in danger.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He rolled his eyes at Elena’s babble about him being a creeper and Halloween costumes. He did enjoy a good Halloween costume because it tended to make people laugh and the looks on their faces were honestly priceless. Most people saw him as the normal Quarterback with ‘the heart of gold’ as he had been told by more than one person in his life. They tended to forget that he could be a jokester, could be a complete douche, and was one of those people who enjoyed jumping out at people and scaring the hell out of them, something he had done to both Caroline and Elena on more than one occasion.
“I asked the same thing when I saw her working out.” He told Caroline, laughing at the mock outraged look on her face when she asked if they had been drinking without her. “Besides, who the hell would get the alcohol if we didn’t invite you?” He asked, not wanting to say that he was usually the one who got the alcohol since out of all of them he was one of the only ones who could pass for 21. He remembered when they had all gotten fake I.Ds two years ago and they had tried to use them to get into a club and only some quick thinking from him and Tyler had made it to where they could get in. Neither Caroline nor Elena looked their ages even now, so passing for any older tended to be a bit more difficult for them than it did for him and Tyler, though it was funny to see the look on their faces when it happened, he wisely refrained from saying that last part out loud though as he didn’t want to see either of the girls mad at him.
They tended to be a bit scary when they were mad, and that was without adding Caroline’s vampire status into the mix.
He tried not to cringe at hearing that Caroline was hunting for bunnies. As much as he loved the girl he would be lying if he said it still didn't bother him that she had been forced into the life of being a vampire because of situations beyond her control. It didn't change how he felt about her but that didn't mean he enjoyed hearing about her hunting bunnies...blood bags made things a whole lot easier in his mind since technically no one had to die for it.
“Why can’t you tell us Lena?” He asked, his nickname for her slipping through without his realizing it. “You know you can trust us…why can’t you tell us?” He asked, not understanding. If anything she should be able to trust him and Caroline more than anyone, so hearing that she couldn’t say anything hurt him a bit, though he didn’t let it show.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Halloween... It was coming up sooner than she had expected. In fact it was just around the corner at this point and she hadn't even realized it. She remembered Matt's crazy Halloween costumes and couldn't help but smile at the thought. That had been before their lives had been consumed with the Supernatural, back when things were vaguely simple. Or at least simpler than they were now, now that nothing was ever simple anymore. "Oh god, Matt....your Halloween costumes in the past have been interesting to say the least. Not to mention scaring us nonstop. I remember nearly peeing my pants several times" she said with a nervous laugh. Hopefully that didn't come out too weird. However Caroline had never been a shy girl, and especially hadn't been shy since becoming a vampire. If anything she'd grown more into herself after being turned than ever before.
Caroline nodded as she explained about Alaric. It made sense, especially when one took into consideration their bond. Alaric treated Elena and Jeremy as his own children, loved them and looked after them. It was rather sweet actually. She'd always loved Ric, as he'd also stood for a kind of father substitute to herself as well. Not as much as Elena, but they'd definitely grown closer as of lately. "Slave Master Ric...Has a nice ring to it" she said with a giggle. Her eyes drifted over to Matt when he laughed at her face, and she couldn't help but allow her eyes to light up. She loved his laugh. "You are kind of a sissy. Some working out will do you good" she said, winking to Elena to let her know that she was only kidding. Although she would have been lying if she'd said it wasn't true. It may have been a joke, but it did hold some form of truth. Being a bit more prepared would certainly do Elena some good. Not that it'd really help, going up against a vampire was daunting to a human. Still...it'd go a lot better than if she were to go in blind.
"I did text him a couple of days ago, but he was acting like a weirdo. Usually I wouldn't take that as something being wrong, but it was weirder than usual." Her voice drifted off as she began to try and think what was up with the older Salvatore. He was being a bigger butthead than normal, nearly acting as if he didn't know Caroline and passing her off. Perhaps that should be looked into? Plus, hello, she was hungry. Brought out of her thoughts by Matt she looked up to him with a smile, doe eyes warm and inviting as she was no longer ignoring his presence. "This is true. Glad to know I'm useful for something" she said with a small snorted laugh.
It was clear to both of her friends that Elena was hiding something. As she spoke out that she couldn't tell either of them, Caroline's eyes fell on to Matt's with worry heavy in them. As he plead, she turned on her side and moved in closer to Elena. "Look, I know you've gone through a lot lately. But you can tell us Elena. Or at least I wish that you would...we're just worried about you guys is all." Her voice was soft and calm, loving even. After all Elena was sort of like a sister to her and if she were in trouble than Caroline wanted to help. Or at the very least be aware of the situation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Elena, Matt ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 626 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She shot a glare at both of her friends, though it was more a mock glare than anything else. Everyone around her knew that she wasn’t exactly a ‘workout’ girl. She had never been one to worry about staying in shape or anything of the sort since she was naturally thin and had a high metabolism. Also cheerleading was enough exercise for her, or at least it had been before she had quit the squad. There were times that she missed being able to run around and be in as good of shape as she had when she was a cheerleader however most of the time it didn’t phase her.
Rolling her eyes at her ex boyfriend she shared a glance with Caroline before turning her focus back to the only man of the small group. “Please, you know better than me that the only way Caroline is getting alcohol is if she compels someone. Neither of us look our age let alone twenty one. You’re the only one who can get us alcohol the illegal legal way so hush it.” She stated, reaching over and pushing his arm for good measure before sitting back down and leaning back against the tomb wall, shivering a bit at the cold stone that she could feel through her tank top and hoodie. It was fairly chilly outside so she knew she should have probably worn warmer clothes but then again she had anticipated working up a sweat, not hanging out at the tomb so she doubted that even if she would have thought about warmer clothes if she would have actually done it.
Hearing her nickname slip out of Matt’s mouth almost immediately made her melt, though not in the romantic way. It was his nickname for her as a child though no one had ever quite been sure why. Most children had nicknames for their friends when they couldn’t pronounce their friends real names. However Matt’s nickname was simply a letter shorter than her real name and the ‘E’ that he tended to drop off was still in her name later on which meant that clearly he could pronounce it as a kid. However even so it made her smile to hear the childhood term of endearment, almost showing her that he and she were back to the way they had been before they messed it all up with dating one another.
She nodded absently about Damon’s odd behavior. “Hopefully Alaric will be able to get to him and bring him out of whatever funk he’s in. The last thing any of us need is Damon being a moody bastard…well…even more than he already usually is.” She stated with a small smile on her face.
She sighed at hearing Caroline’s plea and knew that if she could trust anyone it would be these two. Both could keep their wits about them and she knew that she needed to talk to someone about it before she burst. “This cannot leave this area. If Klaus or anyone else finds out if could put all of us in a lot more danger than we are in now.” She stated, looking them both in the eye to get her message across. Once she was sufficiently reassured she took a deep breath before letting it out. “I lied earlier. Lexi was able to force Stefan to flip the switch back on.” She told them shortly, not knowing how much detail to get into.
Did she really want to tell Caroline and Matt, two of her friends who were fairly protective of her, exactly how far she and Lexi had gone to get Stefan’s humanity back?
Unfortunately before she could give them anymore information because her cell phone went off and as she looked at it she saw that it was a 911 text message from Lexi saying that she had to get back to the house now. “I have to go guys. Lexi needs me. Call me later!”
She stated before running out, needing to get back to the house now.
