- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It had been a long night, one that she wouldn’t care to repeat. She felt as if she might be getting sick, her limbs working slower than usual on her patrol. She hadn’t seen anyone at all today, not wanting to let them know that she felt ill. She knew if she did they wouldn’t have let her go patrol and for some reason even though she felt the coming of something, whether it be a cold or something else she didn’t know, she also felt restless. She knew that Glory was out there, something that she had never expected to have to deal with again. So sitting inside because of a feeling wasn’t something that she was prepared to do.
She had avoided Angel the past couple of days, not because she didn’t want to be around him, but because that was how she dealt with the thoughts running around inside her head. He hadn’t been there when the whole Glory debacle had happened the last time, but her friends had. They all knew that she didn’t know how to deal with Dawn being in danger, so they didn’t take offense to her pulling away. She had a feeling though that Angel did. He had tried to talk to her a couple of times but she had always made an excuse to leave, not knowing how to put her thoughts and emotions into words.
She stripped her socks and shoes off, falling into her bed without taking off her yoga pants, tank top or hoodie. She would usually take a shower before falling into bed, at least putting on pajamas but she was simply too tired. Patrol hadn’t even been that taxing but again, she didn’t feel right. She felt sluggish, heavy, neither one sitting well with her. It was a familiar feeling but one that she couldn’t identify.
It was only a couple hours after sundown, and technically she should have still been out on patrol, but two vampires tonight were enough to get her aching and she knew that she needed to get home. If she had come upon Glory in her state she would be dead, if not worse, so staying inside was the best plan for the moment. Her eyes closed on their own, though it took her what seemed like hours, though it was only mere minutes, before sleep took her.
She never would have guessed that sleep was the worst thing for her to do.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Everything was finally coming together for the hell god. Tonight was the night. It was sooner than she had expected but she had to act while the time was right. The barrier between her hell and this world was thin tonight, the thinnest that it would be for an entire year. That pesky little Dawn hadn't made an appearance yet that she had noticed. However with a moment of thinking she decided she truly didn't need her. After all, the slayer's blood had closed her portal last time...and it would open it again. It had to, and all of the signs pointed to tonight. Tonight she would finally be able to go home. Return to her dimension and rule as she once had. The god was beyond giddy just thinking about it.
Strapping on a beautiful red dress with black lace, she paired it with a simple pair of hot red pumps. Her hair was perfect and her Marilyn Monroe red lipstick topped the entire look off completely. Looking as great as she felt, she made her way to the Boarding house where the slayer currently resided. The god's dainty wrist knocked on the large wooden door and waited to see who would let her in. A young girl came to the door, her hair as flat as her chest. She smiled and asked if she could help Glory. "Is Buffy home?"
she asked simply, to which the girl nodded her head yes. At this she seemed to grow slightly nervous and then asked why. "Oh, just wondering sweets. You've been a great help, how will I ever repay you?" she asked with a smirk on her face. Pretending to think, she then offered the very confused girl a look and raised her hands to the girl's head. The girl deflected them and attempted to kick her, but she caught her by the ankle and simply snapped her bones in two. As she fell to the ground she reached out and put her hands on the girl's temples, sucking everything she contained right out of her head. Letting the body slump to the floor in the entry way she shut the door behind her and looked around. No one appeared to be home, other than the slayer that is. Slowly strolling up the stairs she tip toed through the house creeper style until she found the only shut door. Slowly pushing it open, she spotted the slayer fast asleep. Reaching into her bra area she pulled out a needle. The needle contained a tranquilizer that could take out a rhino. Quickly injecting it into her neck, the slayer's eyes went wide and she began to struggle. However it only lasted for a moment before her eyes slowly closed again and she passed out. Placing the slayer over her shoulders, she began to carry her out of the house. Not far from the slayer's neighborhood, they soon came out into a field. Glory carried the slayer all the way on top of the tower and chained her to one of the posts. Not only were they pure steel but they were also enchanted by a witch in town (that had been brain sucked directly after) so that the slayer couldn't get out no matter what. Setting her on the ground, Glory slapped the slayer a few times on her cheek bone with a deafening smack. "Wake up sweet cheeks, you're going to miss the show!" She said, clearly very excited. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She wasn’t sure when her dreams became reality but it was sometime after she had been deeply immersed in dream land. Her dreams had been fairly tame tonight, really they had been nothing out of the ordinary. Her night started out with her usual dreams of laying on a beach somewhere simply getting a tan and watching the waves come to the surface. She would deny to anyone who asked her that there had been a certain mysterious man next to her on said beach but he had been less focused on the serenity of the waves and more focused on her, but again, she’d never tell anyone that.
However soon her dreams merged to a well known nightmare…though it was less of a nightmare and more of a memory. She could see herself from a third person point of view stroking Dawn’s cheek as she gave her the only ones that she could come up with in the short amount of time that she had. She could still remember her younger sister crying, her eyes pleading with her not to leave her. Tell Giles I figured it out, and I’m okay. Give my love to my friends, you have to take care of them now…you have to take care of each other. You have to be strong. Dawn the hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave, live, for me.
Something was tugging at her memory about this scene, something that was a mixture of déjà vu and a warning, though for the life of her she couldn’t figure out what the hell it meant. However before she could dwell on it too much a sharp stinging on her cheek woke her from what could have easily been a very frustrating dream. Waking up slowly she realized that she was no longer in her bed and she wasn’t being greeted by anyone that she would have asked to be woken up by. No, instead the first face that she saw was one that she could have happily lived her entire life without.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the worst part about it. She felt herself tied up and for the life of her couldn’t break the bonds that held her. She felt a weakness inside of her that she hadn’t felt in a long time and it clicked sooner than it should have and a part of her wished that it wouldn’t have clicked at all. Seeing the needle that Giles had pushed into her, realizing that her mother had been kidnapped and knowing she had no strength to fight the monster that had done it…knowing that her watcher had betrayed her. It all came rushing back to her and she hated it. How the hell Glory had gotten a hold of this stuff she didn’t know but her fury burned inside her…because she knew she was helpless.
“What the hell is this?” She spat, not at all liking where her mind was going. She should have thought of this idea but really had no idea that it could happen. But realistically, why couldn’t it. If she could close the portal…why couldn’t her blood open it? Yeah, this was not looking at all good for the blonde slayer.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -"Come on, come on!" Glory urged the girl, growing frustrated that she was still sleeping. One last whack to her cheek bone seemed to awaken her. The eyelids began to flutter before fully opening. When they did fully open she couldn't help but smile seeing the fear in the slayer's eyes. It was quite amusing to see her powerless like this. The slayer had always thought of herself as some big badass bitch. Well now look at her! She didn't look so badass to Glory right now. She looked like a shriveled little version of her old self and it simply delighted the hell god. Soon enough she would have what she really wanted. She would be home.
Before long the slayer began to spat her mouth off. It wasn't a surprise though as it was how she usually acted. So disrespectful. Crouching down in front of the slayer she grabbed her face roughly, squeezing the side of her face with one hand. "This is exactly what you said. Hell! Or it will be soon enough. Thanks to you, I'll be going home now!" Shaking the girl's face around a bit she gave it one last squeeze before letting go and standing up again. She moved further away from the slayer and down to the very end of the landing that extended off the tower. It was similar to the set up of the last one she'd made, however this one was far more sturdier. Not to mention higher quality as well. Her minions had really done a fabulous job. None of them were currently visible, but they were hiding out in the trees should anything arise where they would be needed.
At the end of the landing she looked up into the sky and watched as it began to ripple before her. It was coming soon, probably within the next couple of minutes. With a sigh she turned around and made her way back over to Buffy. Looking down on her she couldn't help but shake her head. "Ya know sweetie, you really should have picked a better outfit to die in. Your outfit does nothing for your shape. Not that you have one." Always with the comments on the clothing. "I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't find your little misfit sister, but I guess you'll do just fine. Are you getting excited?" She asked, though clearly knew the answer. She on the other hand was getting very excited. More and more by the second as the sky began to darken. It wouldn't be long now, and she looked down at the slayer with pity. So weak and fragile.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Okay, this definitely wasn’t good. She could feel her limbs bound together and as much as she wanted to break free and simply beat Glory to death, she knew she couldn’t. Unfortunately not only did she feel a weakness within that she really despised, but she also knew that even if she was at full strength she was no match for Glory. The only reason she had hurt her before was that she had the Olaf, the Troll God’s big old weapon and had used it against her. Which was lucky for her as it made Glory slash Ben a bit weaker and allowed Giles to do what she couldn’t.
Not that it made a difference now since clearly the whole killing Ben thing didn’t work out as well as they had thought, but she digressed.
She glared at the blonde in front of her, hating her with a more fiery passion than she had ever felt for one person… at least with hate behind it. She wished everything bad would happen to this woman and if she had the strength she knew that she would be the cause of it. She didn’t know what she wanted to do but she knew that even torture would be too good for her.
She didn't really know what to say to the hellbitch when she stated that she was going home. Again, she knew that she should have probably guessed this, but she hadn't even thought about it. She wondered briefly if just because she and Dawn shared the same blood (since if you wanted to get technical Dawn came from her, making her less of her sister and more of her daughter, though she had never really thought of that until now) if the portal would open since she technically wasn’t 'the key'. Unfortunately she had no reason the doubt the insane hell god as she doubted she would do this without some sort of proof. This wasn't a good situation to be in and unfortunately she doubted anyone would come looking for her since no one knew she was gone.
If she ever got out of this she made a mental note to install a security system at the boarding house.
She glared at the woman as she made a comment about Dawn. “At least it’s me and not my sister.” She stated honestly, feeling no reason to lie. “Besides, it’s pretty damn sad that you not only had to tie me up, but inject me with something to take my strength away.” She stated, thinking as she remembered an exact quote from another instance such as this. “You had to tie me up to beat me…” She trailed off before grinning. “There’s a word for people like you, loser.”

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Glory thought of her comment for a moment before shaking her head. "Good point. Honestly honey, you're kind of a pest to this world. People will worship me for killing you"
she said with a cute little smile as if proud of herself. "And you're sister? Well. That little misfit will probably be thankful for what I've done. After all it wasn't like you've ever been that nice to her." Knowing this would probably hurt the slayer her eyes lit up. She remembered having a heart to heart with the slayer's little sister. She actually kind of liked her, though she was still only served one purpose and that was for Glory to go home. Looking behind her she realized that it was nearly time. Hearing the slayer's voice again, she snapped her head around quickly to glare at her. Oh how angry the comments had made her. "I'm the loser? You're tied to a post sweetie, and about to die. You failed. What kind of leader does that make you?" she asked softly, kneeling down in front of the girl again. Her hand rose up to grab the slayer by the throat and she slowly began to choke her. "The world you're here to protect will soon be engorged in hell. How does that make you feel?" she said, squeezing even tighter and watching in satisfaction as the slayer's face began to turn blue. Just when she thought she might kill her she released her hold. Picking her up by the neck, though not squeezing, she picked the slayer up and stood her on her feet. Next she went behind her and snapped the chains off of the post. She was still handcuffed, it just wasn't attached to anything before. Dragging her out onto the plank she grinned as she realized it was time. "Well sweet cheeks, ya had a good run. Any last words?" she asked, still smiling. Next she leaned down and grabbed a small dagger off the floor where it'd been sitting. After giving the slayer a chance to speak she slit both of her wrists and watched as she began to bleed. Slowly the portal opened. Screeches and growls erupted as all kinds of demons began to slither out of it. Dragons flew by, demons jumped out and sped off into the woods. Next was her part. As she tried to rise to the portal, she found that it wasn't working. She turned to the slayer and gave her one very hard punch to the side of one of her temples. As the slayer fell to the ground unconscious, Glory leapt into the portal. And fell straight to the ground. "WHAT THE HELL?" it beamed above her, and a voice came down to her. It whispered that she was no longer pure enough to enter her home dimension. "You mean I'm stuck here? WITH THE MEATBAGS? Oh this is so not happening" and she tried to enter the portal again. Rejected. The voice whispered down to her again and told her it was no longer possible for her to enter. Angry, the woman began climbing the tower again to try to get to the top and jump off again. Atop, the slayer appeared to still be unconscious. Word Count:: 607 Tag:: Buffy Outfit::Click to see Glory's outfitNote:: I figured Buffy could come to and jump while Glory is climbing the tower. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She rolled her eyes as Glory tried to say that she would be praised for killing her. “Oh yes, because your fellow gods, the ones who forced you out, will definitely praise you for finding a way back in. Yes dear I did my research the first time your frizzy haired self came into town and I learned all about you. They couldn’t stand you any better than any of us can. Wonder what you’re so called worshipers felt like for you? I bet they switched their allegiance to one of the others who forced you out really quickly…so I doubt you’ll have anyone left to follow you if you make it home.”
She knew that badgering the crazy hell god was probably not the smartest thing to do in her situation but she really couldn’t help herself. It wasn’t like being polite was going to force the blonde to let her go so she figured she might as well have a little fun while trying to stall for time. She wasn’t sure if time would even be an issue because really, how the hell could anyone fight Glory? She was the strongest out of the group, though not by much. Angel and her were pretty evenly matched, Faith as well. Spike and her had trained a lot together over the years and he had gotten to be almost as good as her as well. So really, all four of them were pretty even for the most part but still, none of them were a match for Glory.
“Don’t talk about my sister.” She stated evenly, hating this woman for ever targeting her sister. She refused to think about the fact that without Glory she wouldn’t have ever had a sister, because that just made her angry so she refused to think like that, instead simply hating the woman for going after the only family she had left. “The only family you have is those disgusting little minions who served you…if that’s all you can have back in your dimension, I don’t have any idea why you’d want to go back there.” She stated, hatred like fire in her eyes.
“I may be tied to a post and about to die, but in case you’ve forgotten, you still couldn’t beat me with my strength. You had to inject me to take away my powers because you know with them I could beat you. I’ve done it before. I may not have killed you, but I made it to where you couldn’t move…so don’t pretend like you’re all big and bad now that you have nothing but a mere mortal tied to a poll…doesn’t make for something you should be proud of.” It was true that without her powers she was nothing but a normal human with normal human strength, meaning that the woman had tied up a human…wow…good job there.
She bit back a wince as the woman slit her wrists, fuck that wasn’t good. When she had used Dawn as the sacrifice so to speak she had slit her stomach, and while it bled a lot, it wasn’t as dangerous as slitting the wrists. She was glad about that but still, she wished the bitch wouldn’t have slit her wrists. She felt her punch her once and she fell over, feeling the blackness take her. However it didn’t take her long to come to and she watched with bated breath as Glory jumped and fell, not going through the portal. What the hell? She watched as the blonde stood up and made her way towards the tower…she remembered a very similar scene, almost as if it were happening before her very eyes. Seeing the portal opening, seeing the look on Dawn’s face as she realized what was going on.
I'm sorry. It doesn't matter. What are you doing? I have to jump. The energy. It'll kill you. I know. Buffy I know about the ritual, I have to stop it. No. I have to. Look at what's happening. Buffy, you have to let me go. Blood starts it, and until the blood stops flowing, it'll never stop. You know you have to let me. It has to have the blood.
She could still remember hearing her younger sister’s voice, remembering Spike’s words about blood, remembering her telling Dawn that their blood was the same, and remembering her imploring Giles to understand that the monks had made Dawn out of her. It hit her then just as it did now, and the words that she spoke to her baby sister she spoke now, though no one was around to hear them. Listen to me, please. there's not a lot of time, listen. I love you, I will always love you. But this is the work that I have to do. Tell Giles, tell Giles I figured it out, and I'm okay. Give my love to my friends, you have to take care of them now...you have to take care of each other. Dawn the hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. Be brave, live, for me.
She knew then, just like she knew now. She knew exactly what this meant and what she had to do…but she hesitated for a moment. She didn’t want to do this again, because she didn’t want to leave those that she loved. However she also knew that there was no one else to do it. She knew that it was her or the world, and as usual the world came first. She had been sworn to protect this world and she would do it with her very life, something that she had done before and would again.
Closing her eyes she whispered another apology to her friends, hoping that somehow the wind would carry it to them, and she took a running leap as she jumped inside the portal, feeling the energy electrocuting her as it had before. Each one of her friend’s faces passed through her mind as she felt the energy around her, landing on Dawn and Angel, the two that she loved more than anything in the world. She could feel her life dwindling away and she almost relished in it, something that she hadn’t thought possible. She felt herself welcoming this feeling because it meant she would be at peace once more very soon.
Finally, it was over. She had the made the Final Sacrifice.
