~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was hurrying as fast as she could to get ready, She had just gotten a text from Tara saying that she was back in town wanting to meet for dinner. She was so happy that she was back, she had not seen her in what felt like forever. Tara so was off taking care of something she had to do back in L.A. the job she had before she came to Richmond. Which Willow understands that she had to take care of it. But She is so happy to have her back her with her after all this time, even though it was only a few months it felt like forever.
Willow was running late so she knew she had needed to hurry. So she ran down the stairs and out the door as fast as she could, she got into her car making her way to her sweet Tara. As she was driving she was also trying to check to see how she looked in the mirror, using magic to steer the car. She had to look just perfect tonight for her, because Willow knew this night was going to be a night to remember. Just a nice dinner with the two of them, it was going to bed so romantic. Willow finally had made it to were they were having dinner, so she parked the car getting ready to head inside. She was almost running she was so happy to see her baby. Willow all ready knew the first thing she was going to do it give her a big hug never letting up. She walked up asking man for the table under Tara’s name, she walked with him as brought her to the table. When they made it to the table there stood Tara, looking more beautiful then ever before. "Baby I have miss you so much!” She said hugging her tight not wanting to ever let go. "How have you been? I though you were never coming home its been so long"
It irked Tara to no end how the job she had gotten through the temp agency had called her back in because she hadn’t given her two weeks notice or finished the huge project she had been working on. It was annoying deskwork, but it required her to be in LA at the publishers headquarters doing stupid drone work that they seemingly could have brought in another temp to do, but no, that would be much too difficult considering the time they had put into training her. What was supposed to be only a month’s work dragged out for a few, something that had been bothering her quite greatly. Her new life was intended by the higher powers to be spent with her love, not pushing papers for some corporation.
Still, she had finally finished the project and the book was to be published, much to her dismay. It was some fiction piece about Wiccan’s in the modern day, and the “facts” were grossly misleading, but it was done and she was going to see Willow very soon. The plane trip felt much less miserable this time around, though by the end of it, she was itching to get out of her seat and back to her baby. The taxi driver seemed to sense her agitation at his speed as he brought her to the restaurant and Tara was there in no time. It was only a few minutes later that she could hear Willow giving Tara’s name to the host.
Standing up, she turned and smiled at Willow, “I’ve missed you too.” She wrapped her arms tightly around Willow as she was being hugged, kissing her cheek gently. “I’ve been well, though I wanted to be here every second. It was terrible.” Tara eventually released her tight hug, returning to her seat and sliding a menu across the table to Willow’s seat. “How have you been?” Tara was hoping desperately that nothing had gone wrong while she was gone. Willow was using magic and Tara was perfectly okay with that, but it was quite a fine line to tread upon with Willow’s history and her power.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tara looked great and seemed like she was doing well, which made Willow feel hundred times better. She couldn’t lie she was worried about Tara the whole time she was gone, knowing that she wasn’t right there with her keeping her safe. But then again she knew that she couldn’t smother Tara like that, it just scares Willow the thought of having to lose her again. She knows for a fact that she couldn’t go threw that again, Willow will die first before she has to say good by to her baby again.
Tara looked so beautiful when Willow saw her, she still couldn’t believe how great all this was. The set up with the table and everything it was so romantic, but more then that Willow was happy that Tara was back here with her. Just being in her arms was great “I missed you so much baby, ask Buffy all I have done is talk about when you were coming home.” It was the truth though she couldn’t wait for Tara to be back home, it was all Willow could talk about. But by the sounds of it Tara had felt the same way as well, which made her happy.
After releasing her from the hug Willow sat down at the table right across from Tara as well. “Well I have been good, busy still working my magic trying to learn some new things. You know the usual. Nothing much has gone on here. Well we did have to help Angel get his soul back. Fun huh like we have not done enough of that before.” She said joking around. “But yeah it was a pretty serous thing, which is why I have really been working on some magic. Trying to learn to keep that at bay once and for all. You know with all that y going on it might have been a good thing that you weren’t in town.” It was the truth though, if Angelus would have done anything to Tara that would be it. Willow would lose it and kill Angel, which meant they all have one pissed off Slayer on there hands. “So baby enough about me, tell me more about what you have been up too while you were away on work.”

It was a relief to be back and so close to Willow. Every minute it felt a like a little more worry was being taken off of her chest, the worry that had built up over the last few months. Tara could barely pay attention to the menu, her eyes constantly looking back up at Willow. It made her happy, albeit a bit selfish, to know that Willow had been missing her as much. Tara had always worried that she had moved on after her first major… time away that she would be alright with her not around. It was an irrational fear, she knew, but sometimes insecurities just came with being human she supposed.
Tara smiled, I’ve missed you as well, though I can’t say I talked anyone’s ear off. I think most of my coworkers thought that I was mute. But you know, that’s how I’ve been always. Quiet and such. Anyways, I had decided that it wasn’t worth getting invested in LA, I wanted to get back to you as soon as I could.” She reached across the table and slid her hand over Willow’s. The waiter came over to take their drinks down and Tara simply ordered a water and thanked him, not for a moment taking her eyes off of Willow.
She could feel her worry rising in her chest as she talked about Angelus and her use of magic. “W-what kind of new things?” Tara tried to hide her nervousness, “All is good with the whole Angel soul party? That is pretty… powerful magicks you are talking about.” She avoided giving Willow a look, looking down at the table and playing with the cloth. “L-locking his soul permanently… I haven’t seen anything like that. It would be an old spell. A dangerous one. Things like that don’t like being trapped, especially in a vampire.” She frowned, looking back up. Tara really hoped she wasn’t giving the wrong kind of impression to Willow. She wasn’t trying to manage her or correct her, she was just concerned. Very concerned.
It took a moment in order to shake off that train of thought. Tara took a sip of her water, “ LA was… rather uneventful. I spent a lot of time reading and developing a notebook of useful defensive and healing spells. Most of the time I was working though, but that is even more boring to talk about. They are publishing this horrid fiction book about witchcraft. It’s made me quite sad knowing I helped put it out into shelves. All of it is terribly misguided, I bet there will be so many “witches” come Halloween because of it.” She laughed lightly, shrugging.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tara has always been a bit of the quite one, she was that way when Willow first met her. It was at one of there Wicca meets at school, Willow remembers it like it was just yesterday. It was also one of the things that drew her close to Tara. How shy she was made her seem so sweet, it really made Willow want to get to know her more. But The way the met the second time around was just as crazy, it was when the whole town was taken over by the gentleman. If it wasn’t for Tara Willow might have been killed by one of them, it was Tara who came together with Willow’s magic for the first time saving them both. it’s a moment they both will never forget.
“Well It might be good that you didn’t talk anyone ear off, because I think I drove most of the gang nuts with all I talked about. But they know how much I love you so its all good, but baby you should have gotten to know more people in L.A. You don’t know you might go back there one day.” The waiter had came to the table to take there drinks orders and shortly after Tara ordered, Willow told him a water as well while keeping her eyes on her as well. She couldn’t quit starring into her beautiful blue eyes, while caressing the top of her hand. Willow was so happy right now she was almost sacred, worried she might wake and this all be a dream.
Willow could then notice a bit of worry coming from Tara when she told her about helping Angel, it was some strong magic’s at hand so she really couldn’t blame her for the worry. “Yeah well first I had to get Angel his soul back which wasn’t the hard part, the hard part is finding a spell to keep it that way. And babe you know how I feel about strong magic and I don’t do it in less I have to, but you see with Kathy is in Angels life now and all it bring true happens to him all the time.” She then rubbed Tara’s hand again trying to get her to look back up to her. “So you see I have to help him, other wise we will have Angelus all the time. But I know to watch it with the magic babe so don’t worry ok I wont lose control, besides so far I have not found anything. All I could do is give him herbs to help keep the soul intact, I really could use some help with. Do think you could help me look into it some more?” She really did hate asking Tara for help with this stuff, but really she was the best when it came to magic and control.
As always Tara could get a smile out of Willow one of the many things she loved about her, she laugh with her as she talked about her book. “Well it sound like you had a rather interesting trip, I will tell you it sounds like a lot more fun the what we have had to deal with her. Be glad you were gone it was just crazy.” She said referring to all that had happened with Angel. “You know I might want to check out this book, just to see how horrid it really is.”
--------------------------------- --------------------------------- Tara couldn’t help but smile at the thought of Willow talking the ears off of the rest of the gang while she was gone. It was quite a comfort knowing that mostly everyone was around, especially Buffy and the potentials. It had been taking a little of the worry off of her shoulders while she had been away. With the Slayers and potentials being around, Tara could be more confident that no big bad was going to take her baby away from her. Tara wouldn’t let that happen to her, she knew she’d know if something bad was about to happen and that she would go running to protect Willow at all costs.
A frown developed on her face when Willow suggested that she may one day have to go back to LA. That comment seemed so odd to her. Tara didn’t plan on ever going back to LA, not unless Willow was planning on going there for some reason. “W-well… I wasn’t planning on going back.” Tara looked up at Willow, with a small smile, “Not unless you were there. Then it still doesn’t matter if I know people, I’ll have you with me.”Tara knew she must have been over-reacting so she returned to her former happy demeanor.
Tara was still quite nervous about the whole soul-binding magic matter. Willow was trying to comfort her, though it wasn’t just Willow losing control that she was worried about after she thought about it for a bit. “Of course I’ll help you with the research. I just…I think it’s dangerous. Not just because of the power… but I’d be worried about him. You know… If he were to get hurt. What if his soul was trapped here?” It certainly was dangerous, meddling with binding spells. Tara would help, but wouldn’t be afraid to try to voice her opinion if things were seemingly getting out of hand. After all, it was what she was sent back for.
“Well, it was sort of interesting. I still would have rather been here, helping you all.” Tara ordered a salad from the waiter, sipping on her water slowly, “Has anyone moved on from Virginia while I was gone? Anyone new show up?” She tried to move on from the subject of magic and have a nice dinner. She was just so happy to be back and with Willow. ---------------------------------
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow couldn’t lie she was so happy and relived to hear that Tara wasn’t going to LA at all anymore, she couldn’t even begin to think of her leaving her again. Matter of fact she doesn’t ever want to have to think about it anymore or ever. But she did feel kind of bad being selfish like that, what if Tara liked that job? And deep down a part of her didn’t want to give it up. Willow just hopes that Tara isn’t mad for letting it go. “Babe I don’t ever want you to ever go back I want you to stay here and never leave, I just hope your not to upset giving up your job. I mean it sounds like a big opportunity so I feel kind of bad. But the truth is baby I don’t know if I could ever be with out you again.” Willow then leaned over the table giving Tara a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Willow was really worried that Tara might be a but upset with her using powerful magic like that again, but she couldn’t help it had to be done. Even Buffy knew that she had no choice, it had to be done to keep them all safe and alive. “Your right babe I know its dangerous and I promises to be careful, I don’t ever do spells anymore if I think its to unsafe or if I cant handle it for that matter. You know I don’t even think Buffy would have let me do it if she didn’t think I couldn’t handle it, we both don’t want a repeat of my past. I will never let myself get that way again babe, never.” It was the truth though, Willow never wants to be how she was in the past. Using magic for everything she did, doing things with her magic that could get people hurt. She will never get that way ever again, magic is only used for good when it was need Tara taught her that and Willow is standing by it.
Willow has missed Tara and would have loved her to have been there to help them all, but at the same time she was happy to know that Tara wasn’t there safe from all the chaos. “Well don’t worry with this crazy town I’m sure we will need your help with something else real soon, things in this town don’t stay quite long.” Willow then told the waiter that she would have a salad as well. Tara then asked her who all had came to town while she had been gone, which some new faces have came from Rome while she was away. “Well Giles is here with us, Spike has been helping us as well, and…Oz is kind of back into town all the sudden.” She wondered what she was going to say about that, with oz being her Ex and all. But really she had nothing to worry about, after all Willow did chose Tara over him. Which was the best choice she ever made.

--------------------------------- --------------------------------- There had been a little monster in the back of her mind, tugging at her thoughts as she lived in her second life with Willow. It was a little, well somewhat big fear and it made her feel guilty and selfish. There had been no guidelines given to her by the Powers that Be other than to keep Willow’s magic in check, to make sure she remains on the side of good. Tara had no idea to what extent that meant, or if it meant that it was a warning that she was to go down the wrong path once again. Tara didn’t know much about these Powers, or what their abilities truly were. For all Tara knew, they had the ability to see and affect the future. Considering that they were able to bring her back, she was pretty damn sure that they had that power.
So that was the crux of her fear, the “powers” of the Powers that Be. For all she knew, she could be doing a horrible job of what they have assigned her to do. They could take her away, Tara was sure. They put her back into the world with a mission and if she didn’t meet their grade, then she could end up right back where she started. Tara felt so guilty about because she knew it was inherently selfish to worry about herself when Willow was doing so much good for the group, but who really knew where the line between good and losing her was? Tara never wanted anything more than the people she loved being safe and taken care of.
This anxiety she would never let on to Willow. It was her own burden to bear and she wouldn’t go and tell anyone about it. The best she could do was her best idea of what she was suppose to do for the Powers that Be. So she ignored her own thoughts and took a few bites of her salad. “Good” She smiled, “Because LA was such a drag, I missed crazy old Virginia and the gang.” She really did not want to go back to LA. There were too many memories and confused feelings surrounding the city.
It was nice to hear that Giles and Spike were around. Some more familiar faces around Virginia would be a nice thing. Then again, the inclusion of Oz in that little list always made Tara feel a little odd. Sure, Willow chose Tara over Oz years ago, but it was always strange to hear about exes and have them around. Considering the last time that Tara had run into Oz, she had been in college and the whole incident with the transformation-attack-initiative capture went down. “I can’t wait to see Giles, I haven’t seen him in so long. Spike too.” She paused for a moment, “And Oz, how has he been?” Tara was trying her best not to be awkward for about the whole thing, she really did wish Oz the best. “So. What do you have planned for this week? Any big bads we should be worrying about?” ---------------------------------

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow really hoped that Tara knew how serious she was about watching her magic, she never wanted to be the way she was before when that’s all she cared about. Willow was so bad she was using spells every ten minutes, all though maybe it was worse then that maybe it was every five. All Willow did was use a spells to fix everything like it was a drug or something, and magic didn’t need to be used at all like that. The sad thing is Willow should know that she learned it from Tara.
She was so happy to hear that Tara was glad to be home, a part of Willow was worried that she miss might L.A. But she didn’t at all she missed every moment of not being with Willow more, which was exactly how she has felt. “Yeah It is kind of like that there, I went there a few times to talk to Angel. And let me tell you every time I went to go see him it was never for anything good. Some kind of trouble was always brewing.” Wasn’t that the truth the first time the witch when there was to talk to Angel about Buffy dying, which was one of the hardest things Willow has ever had to do. The second time was to help Angel get his Soul again, no surprise there. “I don’t think we are going to have to worry about going there to talk to Angel anymore, he mostly lives here with us now.” She said with a smile happy that the gang was whole again.
Willow was worried to how she was going to take hearing about Oz, even though she had nothing to worry about Willow could never love anyone more then she loves Tara. This witch plans on spending the rest of her life with Tara Lynn Maclay forever and always. “Everyone cant wait to see you either, and as for Oz from what I saw he seemed to be doing ok. I think he is going to try and do something with Music in town, and I think he is seeing someone new a werewolf girl even. So I really was happy about that for him.”
Tara then wanted to know about what new evil was brewing , and really nothing had popped up yet. But that always can change in a flash. “I don’t think there is any big bads right now, just the typical vampire or two you know how it goes. But I’m sure Buffy could use some of our help on patrols.” Willow then stopped talking for a moment so she could take a drink of her water. “So what are you planning on doing now that you are back in town, thinking of getting any jobs here in town?”
Then Willow’s phone begin to rang, she looked to see who it was and it was Buffy. “Its Buffy babe I have to take this.” She picked up the phone saying hey and asking what was up. But then Willow would have never believed what Buffy had told her next. “Ok we will be right there.” She looked to Tara in shock. “Babe we have to go, you will never guess who is back in town.” The two got up from the table quickly making there way out of the restraint not even finishing there food. Willow just couldn’t believe that glory herself was back!
