- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -It had been a nice few days as far as he was concerned. He had gone with four guys to Richmond for the weekend and stayed there until they had to go back to school on Monday. It was now Friday and he had just pulled up into the same hotel he had stayed in last weekend. This weekend was going to be extremely busy as they had three games and all three were back to back. Luckily tonight there was no game so he could rest up for tomorrow. However with that being said he was still going to hang out with the guys and the girls who were coming so at least it would be slightly fun.
That’s what he thought at least.
Getting a text from John to meet them in Coach’s room he threw on his letterman’s jacket and headed out, feeling like he was a part of a gang when he walked in and saw every other player standing in jeans, boots and their jackets as well. Oh well, that’s what you get for being on a team…you tend to always match one another whenever game day is upon you.
Alright, so a few of the cheerleaders didn’t get rooms booked. Officially I am here telling you that a couple of you are bunking together so the girls can get their own rooms. However unofficially I’m telling you that I don’t care who shares a room as long as you are careful. I don’t want to see any teenage daddies of any of my players…got it? Was all the coach said before heading to his bathroom. Matt groaned loudly but nodded. “Caroline can stay with me…it’s not like her and I don’t know each other.” He stated, ignoring the whistles and catcalls of the other guys. “I’m in room 218 so just give her my extra key and tell her that’s where she’s staying.” He shot over his shoulder before exiting the room.
Heading back into his own hotel room he sat down on the one bed. Yep, he had requested too but they had only given him one. Meaning that either they were sharing a bed or he was sleeping on the floor. He didn’t mind either way but had a feeling Caroline would.
Ahh, the things he did for those that he cared about. Yeah, he was whipped and he knew it.

Caroline arrived to the hotel right on time, but had been a bit distracted by a few of the girls. Some of them were panicking because Caroline hadn't reminded them to book their own rooms. Sure she was the captain of the squad but she was not their mothers after all, why should it have been up to her to remind them? However they were all being pretty bitchy to her because of this, and so she'd had to go to the Football coach and ask to have some of the boys double up. After that, he'd called a meeting to let the rest of the players know they'd be doubling up in their rooms. She doubted they'd be too happy about it but oh well, they'd get over it. It was such a rare occurrence that the boys were more prepared than the girls that the coach nearly didn't believe her, but told the boys anyways.
Next she got with her team and assigned them all of their rooms. Some of them bitched and moaned about who they were staying with, but soon got over it after a quick snap by Caroline. Surprisingly enough no one asked Caroline to stay with them, though that's because she was already supposed to be staying with Matt. She hadn't known this up until just that point, but apparently he'd already offered. Some of the girls made comments about her staying with her ex, asking if they were back together, she swore she heard the word slut too. She simply ignored them and grabbed her pink duffle bag that contained all of her clothes and headed towards the elevator.
Inside of the bag she had a dress in case they went out, a pair of jeans, a few shirts, one pair of heels, tennis shoes, her uniform, and her makeup. Currently she was wearing a simple black tank top and cheetah print short-shorts as if she was ready to go to bed. Heading to the second floor, she found her way to 218 which was Matt's room and hiked her duffle bag onto her shoulder. Taking a deep breath, she ignored the looks from other people in the hallway and knocked on the door. She began humming for a moment while she waited for Matt to come to the door. When he finally did, she offered him a pathetic attempt at a smile. Their last meeting hadn't gone so great. "Guess we're roomies, huh?" she asked in a sweet tone. She was sorry for the things she'd done, she simply wanted them to have fun and be friends again.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hearing a knock on the door he quickly walked over to it, answering it with a smile. Seeing Caroline standing there in tiny shorts and a tank top did nothing for his mood but he kept his mouth shut, opening the door and motioning for her to come in. Realistically he knew this was probably a bad idea. They were ex's for one thing so it didn't look good. Also they were technically still teenagers and had all those lovely teenage hormones rushing through them...add to that the fact that he was still in love with her.
Yeah, probably not a good idea at all. Did that stop him from saying she could room with him? Of course not. However he knew it was a dumb idea.
One of the reasons that he offered was because he knew that she wasn't getting along with a lot of the girls on her squad and hadn't been for quite some time. Ever since Elena dropped off the team and then Bonnie had done the same, some of the girls didn't want to listen to her. She was the best cheerleader around and they all knew that, but were jealous and therefore acted like petty high school girls and became bitches to her. With Bonnie and Elena at her side they had the strength in numbers so to speak so no one would dare speak out against her. Now that she was alone they had no problems doing it.
The only reason he knew any of this was because when they had been together he heard her talk about it constantly anytime they had practice or a game. However he had known before that that there were problems seeing as some of the girls who do thinks directly to spite her…like not dressing in uniform on game days (which they got reamed out by not only Caroline, but the football coach as well since it was promoting the team) and not showing up on time to practice.
"Looks like it." He stated with a smile before closing the door behind her. "Hotel messed up and only gave us one bed. I'll grab another blanket and pillow later and crash on the floor so don't worry about anything. Sorry that you're having to bunk with a guy though... I know it can't be fun to get ready with a football player stealing up all your mirror time." He told her with a wink, clearly showing that they were okay for the moment.

As he let her in, she walked inside of the room and looked around. There was only one bed that she could see which wasn't a good thing at all. In fact it was slightly awkward as the two of them were no longer together. Plus Matt had told her that he still loved her, and she'd known that she loved him though she hadn't told him, and yeah. Things were going to be a bit awkward this weekend and she just hoped it'd go by quickly. Quickly enough where they could overlook the awkwardness and maybe even have a little fun. That would be perfect, she could use the fun.
Now inside the room, she set her pink bag down on the floor next to the bed. Inside of it contained all of her other clothes, though she didn't need any at the moment. She was already basically dressed for bed as she'd worn her pajamas here. The drive wasn't long so they'd all left at night pretty much, so she was already in her pajamas when they left. It was getting late now though and even though she wasn't tired, she figured she should get some sleep. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she faced him with an apologetic look and shook her head. "No, this is your room. You booked it not me, I'll take the floor" she said, offering a light smile. After all he'd been the one prepared, not her. He was the one who was now suffering because she'd completely dropped the ball on her part. So, why should he have to be the one to suffer? He shouldn't have to be, and she wouldn't let him.
Matt continued to joke around with her which put her a bit at ease. Joking around was a lot better than yelling and ranting to one another. It surprised her, but it was a welcoming surprise. However it did make her wonder what feelings they were avoiding, but she decided not to think on it for too long. Her fingers idly began playing with a thread that was poking out of the blanket as she looked around the room. "So...are you going out tonight?" she asked, curious. Back in Mystic Falls he'd stated that he planned to find a girl here in Richmond, so she was simply curious. Clearly judging by her outfit she didn't plan on going anywhere tonight. On top of that, she was in no mood to deal with the bitches on her cheerleading team. If Matt left, she'd probably just watch TV and fall asleep.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Rolling his eyes he shook his head. "You've known me for how long now? You should know by now that there is no way I'd ever let a girl sleep on the floor while I took the bed. It doesn't matter who they are...it wouldn't ever happen. So shush and take the bed." He told her with a laugh. It was completely true though. Matt had always had extremely high morals and this was just another example of them. Even though he hadn't been technically raised with morals and values (Exhibit one, his mother...exhibit two, his sister) he had always been the guy who treated people the way he wanted to be treated.
It was just the way he was.
Hearing her question he shrugged. "I don't know. A bunch of the guys are hitting up some club here that apparently is all ages and want me to go but not sure if I really want too." He told her honestly. "According to them I need to pull the stick out of my ass and get laid and that's one of the reasons that they want to go...so I may ditch and stay here." He stated, laughing at the thought. He knew they would all be highly annoyed with him but he really didn't give a shit. He knew that sounded mean but again, didn't care. There were very few days that he was able to actually hang back and relax. If he wasn't at school he was at practice, if he wasn't at practice he was at work. So having the opportunity to simply relax sounded really good right about now.
With that being said however he wasn’t sure that they could stand to share a room not only for sleep purposes but also essentially hanging out alone all night. A lot of things had come out a few weeks before when they had been arguing and he knew that they needed to address them. Did that mean he wanted to? Nope, not at all. That didn’t mean that they wouldn’t get into it eventually as Caroline wasn’t a patient person and he wasn’t one to lie. If she asked him a question straight out he’d answer it honestly. It was just the way he was. He had always figured that the best way to avoid conflict was to tell the truth.
Unfortunately that wasn’t always true. In this case that might actually be a very bad thing…however what else could he do?

Although she wished he hadn't insisted that she take the bed, she knew he was going to. Whether he liked to think it or not she knew him pretty damned well. More so than most people, honestly. "Fine, then we'll share. Head to toe like when we were kids" she told him with a small smile. She wasn't sure if he'd go for it, but she hoped he would. They had at one point been really great friends and she didn't want the relationship stuff to ruin that for them. Plus, sharing a bed really wasn't a big deal between friends. Teenagers or not they could control their hormones well enough to not jump each other for one night. Well...for a few nights, but still. She was just trying to be friendly and thankful for the room he'd allowed her to stay in.
At hearing about Matt getting laid by some random chick in a club, she couldn't help but notice a certain twinge of jealousy run through her. Even though they weren't together that didn't mean she liked to hear about him sleeping with other girls. At least that meant he hadn't slept with anyone else since they'd broken up. Or at least, she didn't think he had. One could never be sure she guessed. However she wasn't going to let him in on the fact that she still cared, so she kept a smile on her face, no matter how fake it was. "Could be fun though, a night out with the guys" she said, shrugging her own shoulders as if she didn't care one way or another. Clearly that wasn't true though, and he probably seen right through her. Oh well.
"If you do stay in though, I can't promise I won't make you watch the Notebook..." she said with a serious face, though it soon turned into a grin and a giggle. Not only was it one of her favorite movies but she also just liked to watch him give into her demands. Not that she was a bitch or anything she simply found it endearing. Standing up and off the bed, she moved next to him and took the controller off the nightstand he'd been standing next to. Next, she went back to the bed and flopped down on her stomach. Turning on the TV, she began flipping through the channels idly. Even though it appeared that she didn't care what he chose to do, deep down she hoped he would stay with her and just hang out.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He rolled his eyes again. One of these days his face was going to get stuck this way if he didn't chill out on that particular way of expressing himself but really, what else could he do. If it would have been one of the guys arguing with him he would have punched him in the arm or something. He could do the same to Caroline being that she was stronger than he was now that she was a vampire but it was just not something he was comfortable with. Not because he didn't like to be reminded of her being a vampire (which he didn't but that wasn't the reason he was talking about right now) but more because he wouldn't ever hit a girl unless they were going after someone he cared about.
For some reason he noticed a fake smile gracing her beautiful features when he commented on the guys saying he needed to get laid. He wished that it was because she was jealous but he wasn't that much of a guy not to realize that that wasn't the case. He knew that she was over him...at least that's what in his mind he felt like. He wished she wasn't...wished that they could have another chance. He hadn't been able to deal with what she had been turned into right away but he was dealing with it now. With the way that all of their friends were popping up as werewolves and vampires and doppelgangers and mediums and everything else, what else could he do but to deal with things like that?
“Hmm…going clubbing or watching the Notebook? Yeah, thinking clubbing might be the best way to go.” He stated with a grin, walking over to his bag and rifling through it to find some clothing. He really didn’t want to go out and either A.) Watch a bunch of the guys walk around and hit on random girls or B.) Hook up with some girl just because he had gotten drunk and didn’t remember what he was doing. He knew that if he went out he would end up drinking simply to keep away the boredom that he knew he would be feeling. Also it would be a good distraction from the fact that the girl he loved was in his hotel room in the clothes she was wearing and he was out with the guys.
With that being said though, he wasn't sure if he could handle hanging out with her all night and not doing something stupid. Hmm…maybe go out for a little bit and then come back? God knows. Either way he needed to take a shower and at least get somewhat ready while he debated on what he was doing.
“I’m going to jump in the shower.” He stated and headed into the bathroom, closing the door behind him but leaving it unlocked as was the usual for him.

Fate seemed to be against the two of them at the moment. It had placed them in the same room which clearly did not mean well for either of them. Clearly, fate wanted to make them as awkward as possible around each other. For a moment she wondered if maybe she should change her clothes but decided against it. So maybe her pajamas were slightly skimpy, there wasn't anything new about that. Besides they were pajamas after all and she'd always worn something like that to sleep. If Matt couldn't handle her outfit...that was his own fault! Though she knew he could, he hadn't said anything about it or even seemed to notice it. It seemed it was only a problem in her own screwed mind. No surprise there...
Hearing that he seemed to want to go clubbing, a look of small disappointment hit her features. Shifting on the bed, her legs lifted behind her and her ankles crossed over one another. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at him. "What if I promise not to watch the Notebook?" she asked before going back to flipping through the channels. Honestly she had watched it so many freaking times that she could recite the entire movie. Not being able to watch it for one night wouldn't hurt her a bit. Plus she knew if he left, that she'd get lonely as she usually did when she was alone. She wasn't in the mood for lonely tonight.
When he told her he was going to shower, she simply nodded and watched as he entered the bathroom. She noticed that he didn't lock the door but that was simply because they were comfortable together, right? She didn't think there would be any other reason. However it could have been because she was supposed to come with? No, that was a bad, bad idea. She sometimes that she couldn't even figure out her own head, certainly not someone else's. So she patiently waited for him to get out of the shower to see what he planned to do. With any luck he'd stay home and hang out with her instead of going out to a club and picking up some random chick.
While he was in the shower, she went over to her bag and pulled out a make-up remover wipe. She wiped off all of her make-up, leaving her face a blank canvas. Next she pulled her hair all up into a messy bun on the top of her head. She was getting ready for bed, whether Matt was staying inside or not. Also she was kind of hungry...but she'd wait until tomorrow to eat. Hearing some movement from inside the bathroom, she went back to flipping channels idly on her stomach. She didn't find much, so she simply stopped on MTV and left it on 'Teen mom'. Clearly there was nothing better, so she'd given up. Hearing more noises from the bathroom she looked up to see if he was out this time or not.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He hadn't heard her statement about the Notebook as he had already closed the bathroom door behind him. He put his clothing that he had grabbed on the counter and pulled out his toiletry kit. He was one of those guys who was always very conscious about his appearance and the way that he looked. He always had a strong body wash and a fairly strong cologne (though never too strong as that was definitely not something anyone wanted to deal with). Pulling out his axe body wash, razor, shampoo and his wash cloth (because he was a freak who refused to use hotel wash cloths) he turned on the water to hot as hell.
He was one of those people who loved scalding hot showers. None of that luke warm or a bit hot for him...no...he usually turned the hot water all the way up and simply stood there for several minutes. Once he got out of the shower his skin was usually bright red from the heat but he loved it. He had gotten shit about it on more than one occasion as he tended to use more hot water than most girls but oh well, he didn't give two hells about what anyone said about his hot water usage. He loved it and it was one of his greatest pleasures in life.
Okay, he really needed to get a girlfriend before he starting waxing lyrical about his hot showers.
He realized that he didn’t have a lot of time so he quickly did what he needed to do. Shaved, washed body, washed hair. He left his stuff in the shower as he would probably end up taking another one once he got back if there was smoking at the club. He wasn’t a fan of cigarette smoke and could never sleep when he knew he smelled like it.
Quickly stepping out and drying off he pulled on his boxers and his jeans before groaning realizing he had forgotten to bring a shirt on. Okay, he had two options. Put on the shirt he had worn earlier or walk out and grab one. It wasn’t like he was naked, he had pants on… and again, not like something she hadn’t seen before. Besides, knowing her, she would be enchanted with The Notebook and wouldn’t even notice.
Quickly drying his hair with the towel and hanging it up, he opened the door, laughing at the steam that billowed around him. He quickly walked over to the bed and started rummaging around in his suitcase, never even looking to see if Caroline was looking or not.

As Matt came out of the bathroom, steam followed him and seemed to overtake the small hotel room. However that wasn't what necessarily caught her attention. What caught her attention was the fact that Matt came out of the bathroom completely shirtless. His muscular chest was bare and it appeared that he had just shaved it, which definitely caught her attention. As she stared it appeared that if she didn't look away soon, she'd have drool dribbling down her lip. However as she stared the television remote she'd been holding slipped out of her hands and fell down to the floor. When he looked over, she fumbled around to pick up the remote and hoped he hadn't noticed her drooling. Now that he'd looked at her, she refused to make eye contact despite how badly she wanted to look at his chest.
Awkwardly clearing her throat, she placed the television remote next to her side and looked back at the television. "So...I guess you're going out then?" she asked, her voice seemingly fragile. God, she was embarrassed. It wasn't like she hadn't seen his chest before. Perhaps it was just that it'd been a long time for her...and by a long time, she hadn't slept with anyone since Tyler had left town. Which wasn't that long to some people, however Caroline had always been a sexual person. Not in a slutty kind of way but she'd never been afraid to show how she truly felt about someone. Seeing him looking all wet and sexy, his hair wetly matted against his head, she literally wanted to jump his freaking bones. Visions of the two writhing against each other like they used to played through her head, though she tried her best to ward them off.
Idly trying not to think about Matt being shirtless, her feet began to kick behind her. Deciding to take another route...she rolled over onto her back and looked over to Matt. "Guess I'll just stay inside all night by my lonesome..." she said, pouting her lips as her big doe eyes begged him to stay. Yeah she was pathetic, they'd established that before. She just really didn't want to be alone.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Turning around quickly as he heard something dropping he noticed Caroline literally dive to pick up the remote and now appeared to be completely ignoring him. Hmm...interesting. He didn't know if the fact that he was shirtless had made her uncomfortable but either way he quickly put his short on, not wanting to make the situation even more awkward. He knew he had a decent body but she was over him and only saw him as a friend...so she probably didn't need him throwing himself at her.
Okay, so clearly Matt was still a bit dense...he was a guy after all.
"Probably go for a little bit. I can stay if you want but I refuse to watch the Notebook." He stated with a laugh, wondering if she wanted him to leave or if she wanted him to stay. He heard her almost whine about staying in all by herself and looked down to see her staring at him. He wondered briefly if that was a look of disappointment as she realized that he had put a shirt on but shoved it off, knowing that he was clearly imagining things.
Caroline had never been the type to hide her feelings for someone. If she liked you, she told you. If she wanted you, she took you, whether by telling you that she wanted you and waiting for you to make the first move or taking by force...what Caroline wanted...Caroline usually got. So thinking that she was keeping any types of feelings inside was completely insane in his mind and while that really did bother him, there was nothing about it that he could do.
He saw her big eyes staring up at him and he laughed, sitting down next to her and patting her thigh. "You know all you have to do is ask me to stay and I'll stay." He told her, essentially admitting the fact that he was completely whipped by her. He really wasn't a fan of how even as just friends she still had a hold on him, but that didn't mean that he could change it.
He was in love with the girl and there wasn't much he could do about it. He remembered telling Elena something similar once but it definitely applied to him as well. Once you fall in love with someone...I don't know if you can ever shake them. Definitely the motto for his own life.

Although she had looked away before she'd actually been able to see, she assumed that Matt had seen her little fumble. After all she did have the worst luck in the world. On top of that, she'd been totally obvious despite her attempt to be inconspicuous about it. She had majorly failed at being inconspicuous and now, things would probably even be more awkward. Although she nodded at him saying that he was going to go for a little bit, her eyes stated that she didn't want him to leave. "Oh come on. The Notebook is totally a classic" she exclaimed, wanting to scrub her eyes out of remembering a shirtless Matt. For some reason she just couldn't get the idea of his bare chest out of her damned mind. It'd been a long time, but it hadn't been that long. Perhaps she just missed his bare chest.
Bad Caroline!
Now on her back, she watched him carefully as he crossed the room. Her head was still on the end of the bed meant for their feet, as she'd previously been laying on her stomach. He then sat next to her and when she felt his hand on her bare thigh, she couldn't help but get goosebumps. God she had missed his touch whether she chose to believe it or not. "Stay with me?" she asked with big puppy dog eyes. Remembering a night when she'd asked him that before, drunk, she realized those weren't probably the best choice of words. Nonetheless it was far too late to take them back now.
"I promise not to watch the Notebook ya butt" she said reaching up and ruffling his hair with one of her hands. Since his hair was still slightly wet, it ended up looking slightly curly where she'd messed with it. She had always loved his hair, and his face, and his eyes, and his chest...god she needed to stop. After all she was planning on seeing Dean again, she couldn't just do what she wanted with Matt, could she? Although she wanted him...badly. She simply remained on her back, staring at him with her big doe eyes. Snuggling closer against him simply by habit, she waited to see if he was going to stay or not. Perhaps him staying was not such a good idea after all.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He simply laughed at her obsession with The Notebook. "No, it's not a classic...you've made it a classic in all of our eyes because you watch it so damn much...and then you spend the rest of the evening sobbing into whoever your watching it with, their shoulder because you're so sad about the ending even though that's a fairly decent ending for two people. So why do you continue to watch it over and over again?" He asked her, not seeing the point of watching a movie that makes someone cry.
He didn't understand why people sat through Titanic all the time either. Sure the movie was good and the historical facts of how the ship actually sunk were actually pretty damn accurate, but still. People started crying before the movie was half way over only because they knew what was going to happen and yet they still lined up at box offices when they showed it again for the 10 year anniversary of the movie coming out. It was completely insane in his opinion.
After sitting next to her and placing his hand on her thigh he wondered if that wasn't the best idea. He could feel the small goosebumps rising on her leg and he wondered if she was uncomfortable with his touch. However those words completely flew out of his head when she actually did ask him to stay with her. He nodded and leaned over, pressing a kiss to the crown of her head. "Alright Care, I'll still with you. However let me change and we can watch whatever you want...including the damn Notebook. However if I sit through this movie that means you're sitting through Family Guy reruns with me later tonight...deal?" He asked her playfully and patted her thigh once more before standing up, heading over to his bag again and grabbing his pajamas. Thank god he had brought some and not just intended to sleep in his boxers as he had been planning.
Throwing on a pair of plaid pajama pants and an old ‘Mystic Falls High School Football’ T-shirt he opened the door and sat back down where he had been sitting. Feeling her snuggle up to him he smiled. "Alright princess, go pick out a movie and we'll watch it. I'm going to call John and let him know I'm staying in." He told her, knowing he was going to get shit for staying in with his ex girlfriend instead of going to the club with them but he really didn't care. He would do anything to make this woman happy...and this was just another example of that.

Caroline couldn't help but roll her eyes at her friend once again, probably for the fortieth time tonight for all she knew. It seemed that he didn't want to agree with her tonight for the life of him. "It is too a classic, or at least it will be" she muttered, then adding on something about how many awards it'd won and how hot Ryan Gosling was. Once he asked why she watched it so often she simply shrugged. "Guess I'm a sucker for the romance. And Ryan Gosling" she added with a wink and a small laugh.
Thankfully enough she only had to come out and ask him once to stay. It slightly surprised her that he still cared enough for her to ditch his friends and stay in, but hey, she wasn't going to question it whatsoever. She was just going to enjoy it while she had the chance. As he leaned in and kissed her head, she closed her eyes and made a small hum of satisfaction. It was a natural reaction and she quickly tried to pretend she hadn't done anything. It was probably too late and he'd already seen her, but she couldn't believe she'd allowed herself to react like that. Not only was it slightly embarrassing....but it probably gave him the wrong idea. Was it wrong though? That she wasn't sure about either.
Caroline groaned at the mention of family guy. "Oh god. No family guy! No no no no no" she said shaking her head, stealing away the remote before he could touch it. "We won't watch the Notebook, k? Because I hate family guy" she told him with another laugh. For a moment she felt like they might be back to normal, and she decided to embrace it while she could. When he came back into the room in his pajamas, she took a deep breath and tried not to drool at him too much. He was sexy in even pajamas.
Lord, this was not going to end well and she knew it. When he sat next to her, she moved over so that he could lie on the other side of the bed if he wanted to. Next she nodded and began flipping back through the channels, and the ON Demand while he made a call to his friend. Suddenly feeling bad for making him stay in...she poked him in the side, while he was on the phone, to get his attention. "You can go, if you want. I'll be fine..there's nothing on TV anyways" she whispered, not wanting to be reason that he stayed home. She honestly couldn't find anything to watch at the moment, and didn't want to get him into shit with his teammates. Despite how badly she wanted to spend time with him, this was her way of being the bigger person.

He stated with a laugh, knowing that it would annoy her. Most girls he understood loved the Notebook...he had heard about it when it came out from way too many different girls during school...however even Elena and Bonnie were sick of that damn movie from what he heard...so how she could sit through it so many times was something that just astounded him. Her next comment threw him for a minute as what was he supposed to say? Figuring that keeping a joking tone was the best way to go about it he simply laughed, though even to his own ears it sounded forced. “The romance thing I get…by Ryan Gosling…not going there.” He told her with a smirk. “Don’t care if we’re friends or not…I’m definitely not talking boys with you.” He stated, remembering a conversation similar to this with Elena when she outwardly told him that she wasn’t talking boy problems with him.
He knew that she had enjoyed his casual kiss on her forehead from the noise she made. He was starting to wonder if she possibly did still have feelings for him. He doubted that they were any way close to what he still felt for her...but there may still be a few there somewhere hidden. He briefly thought about being selfish and getting her to explore those feelings...but he wrote it off quickly. If she wanted to act on them she would have to make the first move. He wouldn't push her away and they both knew it.
That didn't mean he was going to open himself up for rejection.
Laughing loudly at her refusal of Family Guy he shrugged. "Alright then give me the remote and we'll find something that's on." He told her and groaned when she continued to flip through it to try and find something. Clearly she wasn’t relinquishing the remote anytime soon.
Rolling his eyes at her as he talked to John he quickly explained the situation as only a guy could. Man come on...hot chicks Matt! Hot chicks who we don't have to deal with everyday! "Not happening, sorry. I'm tired, I don't have to work for once in my life, and I'm staying here." You sure you're not just going to go at it like Monkey's with Forbes? "Shut it Tyson. Goodbye. Call me if you guys get drunk and can't remember how to start a car." He stated before hanging up. He knew that he'd get shit but didn't care.
"Too late, already done, you're stuck with me now. Give me the remote and we'll find something." He told her. If she didn't give it to him, he'd get it one way or another.
