- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Sighing as she walked into the apartment she quickly put her purse down. She had been at work longer than expected having had a staff meeting which lasted a ridiculous amount of time...then once she was done there had to meet two of the potentials in the cemetery for a bit of field work. Thankfully they had found a nest of vampire's fairly early so the girls got the experience and she was able to get home at a relatively decent time. Well, not home home, as home at the moment was the boarding house and she definitely wasn’t there, but her home for the time being.
She hadn’t really been at the boarding house since the show down between her and Angel, only stopping by every once in awhile to help out with things such as painting and picking up or dropping off the girls. She missed her friends but she really didn’t need to be anywhere near Angel right now, wanting nothing more than for them to be able to get along again. Clearly that wasn’t going to happen as he couldn’t even look at her without wanting to kick her ass so needless to say she had taken herself out of the equation so to speak and instead was staying in the apartment that she had rented when Angelus had been running around.
Stripping out of her work clothes she threw them in the corner of the bathroom, realizing she really needed to do some laundry. She had a pile of clothing sitting against the far wall of the bathroom that she would need soon for work. Unfortunately the apartment that she had rented didn't have a washer or dryer in it so she had really two options...she could either go to a laundry mat which squigged her out or she could take her laundry to the boarding house and wash it there. That was definitely not an option as the laundry room was downstairs and since Angel was staying down there she knew there was a 95% chance she would run into him.
Slipping on a pink and white stripped night gown along with some black and white polka-dot boxer shorts that she had bought but never had worn she shivered as her feet touched the cold hardwood floors. Slipping on a pair of fuzzy pink socks she headed towards the couch but stopped when she heard the doorbell ring. Walking over and opening it she was surprised at who her guest was. "Hey..." She simply stated, a bit awkwardly if she was honest.
Standing in front of her was Kathy, Angel's younger sister...and really she had no idea what to say to her.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was not happy. She had been with AJ for a week before returning to Richmond, Virginia in order to be back with her brother and his friends. Unfortunately AJ had gotten bored driving her back (though why he just wouldn't rent a car for her and let her drive herself back she still had no idea) and had started making random bets with her. Usually she knew better than to take his bets because half the time they were rigged, but he had annoyed her so she went along with it, feeling that even if she did lose that he couldn't really do much in way of punishment as he wasn't going to be in Richmond very long. As far as she knew it was a drop off and head back to him and Anthony's place. Heh, how wrong she had been. The bet had been simple. Once they got back to Richmond (they had gotten back last night and had gotten a hotel room as AJ didn’t want to drive back quite yet) they headed to the mall. AJ bet Kathy that she’d get asked out on a date by a guy who was clearly too old for her. Kathy had denied it when she looked at her outfit for the day and noticed she hadn’t tried to look older. She didn’t like getting asked out so unless it was necessary she preferred to dress age appropriately as boys were weird and she couldn’t imagine going out on a date. Needless to say, AJ won that stupid bet. She still had a feeling that he had somehow forced the boy to ask her out but she had no proof. So here she was, dressed up in black and yellow...two colors that she hated. Okay, so black wasn't so bad if it was matched with pink but yellow was gross and she didn't think she owned one thing in this dreadful color. To make matters worse she had the Batman symbol plastered all over her, including her boy short underwear that luckily no one could see but she still knew that it had it on there. He had even made her get the matching flip flops which annoyed her as she had black flip flops that would have matched just fine. To make matters even worse he hadn’t been able to stay long enough to see his punishment in person (other than the initial picking out the outfit and making sure she put it on) so he said that she had to wear it all night and then take a picture of her in the morning with it still on…and apparently he’d know if she took it off before bed and put it back on in the morning. She pouted but nodded, making him take her to the apartment where Buffy was staying instead of the boarding house. The shorts were quite short and she didn’t feel like hearing her brother rant about it so instead figured she’d go hang out with Buffy, who she hadn’t heard in a while. Getting out of the car she waved to AJ and headed up the steps, knocking on the door and smiling once it opened. “Hi!” She chirped out, moving to hug her. “Can I come in?” She asked shyly. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde slayer tried to smile, though she had a feeling it came out more of a grimace. She nodded and moved aside, knowing that Kathy didn’t actually need an initiation as she had been invited awhile ago…she was just being polite…just like her older brother. She could clearly remember when Angel came to tell her about Ford…who she just realized looked a bit like Joshua Simpson, but either way…she could remember when he had knocked on her door that night, she had been in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate, thinking about why he had lied to her about Drusilla. It was that night that she had learned a few things about Angel’s past…not much but a few.
It was also that night that she had first admitted to Angel himself that she was in love with him. Everyone else had known for months, having found out when she revealed that Angel was a vampire. She could remember their exact conversation…every word. That was how it was with most of their time together though. She couldn’t remember conversations that she and Willow had a week ago, yet every minute of her times with Angel were burned into her brain forever.
Buffy. May I come In? Sure. I thought once you were invited you could always just walk in. I can. I was just being polite.
She didn’t know why that stuck out to her so much in that moment how much Kathy was like her older brother, but it made the ache within her that much stronger, and for a moment she thought about selfishly asking Kathy to leave so she didn’t have to deal with her pain. However she wouldn’t do that, she couldn’t do that. For some reason she felt a bond with the young vampire in front of her that she didn’t understand, but it was strong…almost…maternal. It was different than the bond that she felt for Dawn but it was fairly similar. However analyzing it tonight would do her absolutely no good and would do nothing other than give her a headache.
Catching Kathy’s outfit she quirked an eyebrow. “Uh…new look?” She asked, confusion written on her face. She had seen Kathy in several outfits since they had met…ranging from young child-like outfits with that weird cat on them to hot pink shirts and jeans. However, a batman set of pajamas that the shorts were extremely short was something that she hadn’t seen. She briefly thought about asking how her brother let her walk out of the house like that, however she refrained from asking, knowing it wasn’t her place. “So what’s up? Is everything okay?” She asked, again, clearly having no idea what to say.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was not dumb. She could see on the blond girl’s face that she wasn’t happy. She could tell by the tension in the air while they had been at the house that something wasn’t all hunky dorey with her and her brother. She didn’t know what it was, but Kathy made a vow to herself –since the only other person in the room was Buffy- that she’d get to the bottom of whatever was going on and fix it. She didn’t like to see people she loved hurt and when it came to her brother, that was double as important to her. Seeing her nod she stepped in, closing the door behind her. Kathy looked around the room, not knowing exactly what to do next. The apartment was just as sparse as it had been when Buffy first bought it, barely showing any life at all. There were no pictures on the walls, no framed art or collages around on the furniture. Speaking of furniture, there was barely any of that either. The basics were all that were around. A couch, a television stand with an older television on it, a recliner chair that had actually come with the apartment, a kitchen table stood in the dining room and the basic kitchen essentials were all that she could see. The bedroom doors were closed so she didn’t know if she had added anymore furniture in there over the past few weeks, but by the state of the rest of the apartment, the young vampire doubted it. She groaned when Buffy asked about her new look. “AJ’s an ass.” Was all she said, knowing that Buffy didn’t know who AJ was but not caring. If she needed to explain she would, though if she played her cards right maybe she could get Buffy to beat him up. She knew she wouldn’t kill him as long as Kathy asked her not too, but maybe she could get him back. That would definitely require further thinking about. Her brown curls bounced as she nodded to Buffy’s question. “Yeah, everything’s fine. I just sort of wanted to see you. You haven’t been at the house recently and I just got back in town. Also I knew that a certain older brother of mine would freak out if he saw me in this outfit and that was part of the bet I lost, was that someone had to take a picture of me tonight and then in the morning to prove that I had actually done what my punishment was. Reason I came here. You don’t mind do you?” She asked hopefully. She didn’t think she would, but then again she didn’t know Buffy as well as she would like too. Maybe tonight would give them a chance to bond. Word Count: 509 Tag: Slayer is tagged by Baby Vamp! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Pajamas! Note: Yes I know this took me forever. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -A part of her wanted to run from the young vampire, not wanting to see her eyes boring into her. The other wanted to scoop her up and hug her for all that she was worth. She didn't do either, instead sat down on the couch and waited for her to sit down next to her. She knew that if Kathy was here then there was most likely a good reason for it, so she figured it was easier to listen rather than to show how broken she was inside. She loved the little vampire but she was too much like her brother and that in her opinion at the moment wasn’t something she needed.
She was surprised at Kathy for two reasons. One, because she had never heard her use the word ass...she highly doubted that the brunette’s older brother would like to hear that word come out of his baby sister's mouth. However she was more surprised by the fact that she said something about AJ. Sure there could be a lot of AJ's in the world but something about the way she said it made her wonder if AJ was the same AJ that she knew. "AJ...I actually have a friend named AJ. Who is he and why is he a butthead?" She asked, emphasizing the word butthead instead of ass.
Hearing that everything was fine she let out a inaudible sigh of relief. She didn't want to let on to the fact that she had been worried. That's all she seemed to do anymore, worry. She worried that Angel would never forgive her. Worried that Giles would figure out that Angelus had been released and had killed several girls, thus proving that he couldn't be trusted. She worried that Spike and Angel would kill each other without her around to act as a buffer (and sometimes referee). She worried about a lot of things but knowing that Kathy was alright and nothing huge was going down, she felt a tiny bit better.
She snorted at Kathy's statement about Angel freaking if he saw her in her outfit. "That would be a very large understatement." She told her with a laugh, feeling good about the fact that she was laughing in the first time in quite a while it seemed. "I think he'd freak out if anyone he knew was in that outfit...so yeah, good call coming here." She told her before smiling fondly. "You never have to ask if you can come here. My door is always open...and if it's not...well...remind me to give you a key." She told her with a grin.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor huffed. She quickly sat down to Buffy and figured she would explain her and AJ’s long history. “AJ is one of my best friends. It’s funny because his real name is actually Angel, well, Angel Justin that is. Anyway everyone calls him AJ so anyway, yeah.” She stated, knowing that she wasn’t making any sense but she was still mad at her so called best friend for making her wear this stupid batman outfit. It was definitely not her at all. “Anyway, he and I met a long time ago. Since I was turned at such a young age it’s been harder to keep a low profile than it is for some others.” She explained, grimacing at the memory of being pulled in by the police because she looked like an abandoned child. “Anyway, AJ was working as a doctor or a nurse or something and was able to pretend that he had known my parents and was able to get me out before they figured out that I wasn’t human. Also he was able to get me out before the sun rose which was really what I was afraid about in the first place. He introduced me to Anthony, who is his nephew. Remember I told you and Angel about him? Anyway he introduced the two of us because Anthony is only eighteen or at least he was when he was turned and so he’s really one of the closest to my age. AJ comes from a big family and Anthony and him are actually blood related so he knew he could trust him with me.” She told her with a big grin, though inside she really did miss her best friend. “Anyway AJ is sort of like my big brother and best friend rolled up into one. He took care of me when I needed someone to take care of me, but he never crowded me or made me feel like I owed him anything. He treats me like an adult while still allowing me to be a kid when I need to be if that makes any sense.” She stated with a shrug. “He’s really old though, like older than me and my brother by like twice. I always kid him that he’s getting age lines. He’s really funny but he thinks he’s funnier than he is, hence the outfit.” She stated, remembering why she was mad at him in the first place and giving out a tiny baby growl. Kathy nodded her head with a grimace, her brown curls bouncing as she nodded. “Can’t see this outfit going over very well with big brother. He almost had a heart attack when I showed him a couple swim suits that I bought. He tried to get me to wear one of his shirts over one of the swim suits. Yeah, I got my way on that one let me tell you.” She stated, remembering Angel’s horrified face when she came out in a bikini. It was good to be the little sister. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She listened to Kathy’s story with a fond smile. She knew from the way that the young vampire was describing him that her AJ and Kathy’s AJ were one in the same. Not only did they have the same name, but just the way that she talked about him it was obvious that they were the same. It was ironic to her that they both knew the same vampire and had known him for quite some time…however she also knew that in her life there were no coincidences and somehow, someway, she and Kathy were supposed to meet.
Just like Buffy and Angel.
For some reason this knowledge made her feel a tiny bit better as she had been truly doubting everything recently. She knew that there was a good chance that she and Angel would never be back to what they had been before. Hell she knew it was almost going to be impossible for the two of them to ever even be on civil speaking terms again, but just the knowledge that no matter what happened, they were somehow destined to meet…it made the knowledge a bit more bearable. However she knew that now was not the time to think about it and instead turned her attention back to the young vampire sitting next to her on the couch.
“AJ and I actually know each other. I knew him before I moved to Sunnydale. He knew me before I was the slayer…and it’s pretty funny because I only recently…like within the past two months, found out he was a vampire and had been since way before I met him.” She stated with a smile.
Hearing Kathy tell her about showing Angel swim suits that she wanted to wear she couldn’t help but let out a very loud laugh, something that no one had heard come out of her mouth in quite awhile. Oh god what she would have paid to see Angel trying to help pick out his younger sister’s bathing suit. She had tried once…ONCE to ask Angel his opinion on her outfit and she would never ever ever do it again.
For one thing, he was completely biased in his opinion on what looked good on her. Another was that he was a very jealous man and very protective of what he considered his (and she didn’t mean that in a cave man way in which he believed everything belonged to him) but still, he was protective of those that he cared about.
“I remember I asked his opinion on a dress one time to go to a club with my friends. He was busy doing something, I can’t even remember what now, but he couldn’t go and I was going with Willow and Xander. I showed him two dresses and he refused to let me leave the house in either of them. Of course I didn’t listen and wore the shortest one just to annoy the hell out of him, but still, I completely know what you mean. Asking his opinion on something that’s not all black and doesn’t cover you from head to toe, don’t even bother.” She told the little one, giggling at the reminder of the simpler days before everything went to hell.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor grinned. When Buffy told her that she knew AJ her eyes looked as if they couldn't possibly get any bigger without popping right out of the young vampire's head. "Wait, huh?" She asked, losing her ability to speak. Why hadn't AJ ever told her that he knew Buffy. Oh, wait, she wasn't sure if she had ever mentioned her before so why would he. Well, he could have warned her that he knew a slayer since they were both vampires and most slayers killed vampires. However she figured she would let him off the hook this time since the subject of slayers had never really been brought up. Maybe he didn't know about them? Nah, he was too old not to. The explanation that followed made the tiny vampire realize why she hadn't heard about her and she quickly forgave AJ in her mind. Only knowing about the slayer for a few months was as good of reason as any not to tell her, though she would give him crap and tell him he needed to tell Anthony. It was what she did, she annoyed him. She was good at annoying him. It gave her a sense of pleasure in her life. Giggles left the young vampire at Buffy's story of Angel not wanting her to leave the house. "Oh wow, you'd think he'd like to see you in short stuff." She stated, really not having a filter. "I mean, from what I gather from seeing people around, don't boyfriends like seeing their girlfriends in skimpy clothing?" She asked innocently, not really understanding the problem. "Me as his sister I understand, but you? I'm confused." She had another question to ask but she wasn’t sure how to go about asking the question it, being that no one had told her that anything was wrong. Apparently being eleven meant being really unobservant if no one realized that she had obviously noticed something was up between her older brother and the girl that he loved. She didn’t really understand why Buffy hadn’t been staying at the house that they all lived in. She hadn’t been there really since Angel got his soul back, but she didn’t know why. Shouldn’t him getting his soul back be a good thing? Why did they both act like it was the end of the world when Angel was back and the demon who looked like him was locked away forever. Right? - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Laughing at Kathy's inability to apparently get around the fact that she and AJ knew each other she simply nodded, smiling at the memories of her once best friend from Los Angeles. "Yep, he actually knew my entire family. He tutored me in...history I believe." She stated before rolling her eyes at the sheer irony of the statement before explaining. "Which was actually what I introduced your brother as to my mother when she first met him. I introduced him as my history tutor." She told her with a laugh, feeling like a weight had been lifted off her chest. It had been the first time in two months that she had been able to think about anything related to Angel and not either shut down completely or burst into tears.
However her happiness quickly abated as she blushed down to her roots, almost as bad as Willow but not since she didn't have red hair. Kathy was definitely a child, no way to go around it. Her comment about liking to see her in short stuff made her want to...she didn't know...run away, hide her head under a pillow? Turn the television on and distract her? Unfortunately she knew that she couldn't do any of those things. She could deflect it but she knew it would come up again...and that time it probably wouldn't be in a private setting. She was lucky that this topic of discussion had come up while sitting in the silence of the apartment living room rather than in front of anyone, so answering any of her questions now might be the smart way to go about it.
"Well I can answer that question two ways. The first one can relate to a lot of males. Sure, some guys do like to see their girlfriends in clothing that I wouldn't allow my sister...or you for that matter...to leave the house in. They like to show off for others and make others jealous." She explained, trying to give enough detail so her curiosity was sated but not enough to scar her for life. Really this wasn't her job, it was Angel's...but she knew Angel would never be comfortable enough to give his little sister any form of 'the talk' no matter how innocent it was...so it fell to her. "Guy's are weird...but they have big egos. So if their girlfriend is cute...it makes them think they're...I don't know, cool in some respect?" She phrased it like a question, not really sure she was explaining it right.
"However with Angel it's different. Angel is very protective...and very jealous. For one thing those that he cares about, he wants them safe. Dressing in the clothing that I wore back then probably gave a lot of guys the wrong idea and could have ended badly had I not been able to take care of myself. However his other issue is jealously. Back when him and I were together, he didn't want anyone else seeing me the way he saw me. He didn't want anyone else to fall for me." She told her, hoping that this explanation sufficed. Also she hoped that Kathy would expect the last line over 'he didn't want anyone to get turned on by looking at me'...yeah...again...didn't want to scar the poor girl.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor giggled. The irony that Angel and AJ, both actually having the same name, both knowing the same two girls, were not lost on her. The situations were different as she had known Angel since birth and she had known AJ thanks to a freak accident involving child protective services and a few too many nosey police officers. Buffy had known the two in different circumstances. Buffy had met AJ in Los Angeles and then met Angel in Sunnydale, who then left to go to Los Angeles. Wow, this was weird, and just a bit confusing. However she found it completely funny and extremely ironic. “That sounds like AJ.” She said while giggling. “He has this weird way of being pulled into a family without really trying. I remember seeing him with this one girl who he met somehow and her entire family adored him. The ironic thing is he’s really not all that nice! I mean sure to those that he knows and likes he can be a good guy or whatever but he’s not one of those people that loves everyone. Really, he makes fun of everyone. If you’re not perfect in his eyes then he usually just makes fun of you.” She told Buffy with a laugh. The conversation switched over from AJ to Angel's reaction to her clothing and she listened intently, not wanting to miss any insight on her very strange older brother. When she heard her say that she wouldn't let her sister or her leave the house in certain clothing, the young vampire got a warm and fuzzy feeling down deep inside. She wondered if that meant that Buffy actually cared about her as more than Angel's sister. Did she care about her like a sister...or even more? She wanted to ask her, but she had learned over the years that she had better learn to tapper down her need to know things as it sometimes made people uncomfortable. She giggled at the thought of Angel being jealous. It was so weird to think of him that way as he had really never been that way as a human. She had known back in Ireland that he went from one woman to another, not really caring about any of them. Granted he never showed that part of himself to her, but she wasn't stupid. She heard the rumors, saw the women glaring at him after a night out at the pub. She never said anything, but she had always known. "It's so weird to think of him like that. Because he was never that way with anyone else." She told her softly, her eyes, both showing youth and knowledge beyond her years. Word Count: 479 Tag: Slayer is tagged by Baby Vamp! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She nodded her head with a smile, agreeing with the brunette vampire's comment about AJ being pulled into a family without even trying. She knew how that went more than most. At the time that she had met AJ her father had been completely against her being around men of any kind. Sure AJ was gay so that should have helped...but it usually didn't. She remembered meeting Tyler's cousin one weekend who was gay and was in a committed relationship with someone and yet her father had freaked out when she asked to go shopping with him because in his eyes 'he could take advantage of her'. Didn't matter that he was gay, didn't matter that she weighed more than he did...her father had still freaked out about it.
Yet…one meeting with AJ and the two were best friends. Her father had always been a workaholic and yet any time that her or her mom mentioned that AJ was coming over for dinner or he was dropping her off, Hank always was the first one home to greet him and talk about anything and everything…it was a very odd thing to watch. Even now, years past and yet the memories still made her laugh.
Kathy’s next comment caused her to let out a very unladylike snort and for once she was glad Angel was nowhere in the general vicinity. “I’ll agree with you there. I’ve watched him make more than one person cry over just his words…and not all of them were girls let me just tell you.” She stated, remembering clearly when he had been introduced to her best friend in Los Angeles, Hilly, and the first thing out of his mouth was something about how her ass was too big for skinny jeans and how he could wear them better than she could and more that she couldn’t remember off the top of her head. The funny thing about it was that Hilly had just said pretty much the exact same word for word about someone else only because they had bought the same pair of jeans that she had on.
Smiling at the young vampire she briefly wondered if she could get a bit of information out of her. Angel had always been so closed off about his human life, not liking to think about it as he didn't like to think about the way it ended. She wondered if now that Kathy was around if he would be more open to talking about it, but shut that idea down quickly since they weren't speaking to begin with. "What do you mean?" She asked vaguely, wondering if she would understand. "He's always been protective of those that he cares about...at least ever since I've known him." She stated, hoping it would lead to information about the love of her existence that she had never gotten to hear before.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor giggled. She wasn’t surprised in the least about what Buffy told her about AJ. Sure she loved the man like a brother but she would be one of the first in line to tell you what a mondo jerk he could be when he wanted to be. Heck, half the time she wasn’t sure if he even realized he was being mean and cold to someone, but then again, knowing him, he probably did. AJ could give two craps about what anyone thought about him, so unless you were mean to someone he cared about, he would just either knock you down with words or turn around and walk away. If you hurt someone he cared about, better watch out. It was not a pretty picture. When she heard Buffy's question she briefly wondered how to explain how her brother had been at one time. She loved Angel, and loved the human version Liam as well, but the two were extremely different. Liam had been a drunk, there was no questions about it. He had always put her first of course as really he had been the one to raise her, but at night he would be the first out the door to hit the pub. He never told her what he did at night, but she always knew. She wasn’t sure if she should tell Buffy any of that though. Would she want to know that Liam went out every night, got drunk and then slept with random girls, sometimes more than one at night? She didn’t really understand all about jealously and stuff like that, but she had a feeling that telling her would only bring her brother and her further apart rather than pushing them back together. However she didn’t want to lie so she figured telling the truth but just not elaborating on it might be for the best. “Liam was always protective over me and mother. But when it came to the girls, let’s just say he wasn’t really all that caring. He wasn’t mean or anything but once he got bored of talking to them or whatever, he usually went on his marry way. He wasn’t one who was known as the romantic type.” She simply said, hoping that would appease the woman that her brother was in love with, but she didn’t know if it would. She didn’t know Buffy well enough yet to guess how she would react to it. She hoped it would be favorable. Word Count: 438 Tag: Slayer is tagged by Baby Vamp! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Hearing her statement about Angel as a human she could immediately tell that Kathy didn't want to answer any questions about his romantic life. She wanted to either roll her eyes at the fact that the young girl didn't think she knew all about Angel's exploits as a human...or coo at her for trying to protect her feelings. Any other time she would admire that sentiment of the little one, but at the same time she wanted to know as much about Angel...or Liam as he was known back then...as she could. She had always been interested in knowing more…but had never had anyone to ask.
Angel had always been very secretive about his past...but not for reasons that most were. Most men who kept their pasts hidden were worried that it would get them in trouble. No, not Angel...he kept it secret because he was ashamed. He felt guilty. His younger sister and his parents had been essentially killed by him. Granted his younger sister had been turned but he didn't know that up until a few months ago and really, the same sentiment was still there. He did end Kathy's human life...and he would always feel an extreme amount of guilt for doing so.
She wasn't sure if he was ashamed about the amount of women he had 'bedded' as a human...she had never really asked him. She hadn't really wanted to know to be honest and after he had come back from hell they steered clear of sexual topics unless they had to talk about them. Sure once or twice something would come up that they had to discuss, but for the most part it was kept fairly innocent, not wanting to push one another's buttons. It wasn’t always easy but they tried their best to make it work.
She had never really thought about Angel being with a ton of girls in the past...hadn't really wanted to. There were a few times when she had of course not been able to escape it...but really she tried not to think about it if she could.
Wow, two centuries of dating. If you only had two a year, that's still, like, four hundred dates with four hundred different...
I've lived a long time Buffy, and I'm past that. I've been with dozens of girls like her. More. I mean, there's no comparison. In two hundred and forty three years I've loved exactly one person.
She shook her head and smiled. “Kathy, honey, you can tell me. I know Angel was with a lot of girls back in the day. It’s not a secret…and it’s not going to hurt my feelings. I want the truth…he’s never been really open to sharing...not liking to think about his last few nights in Ireland.” She stated softly, hoping she would understand.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor smiled. It wasn’t the usual smile that she had on her face. It wasn’t one with bright eyes and the dimples that showed only when she was extremely excited. No, this was a sad smile. That type of smile that an elderly woman smiles when she thinks about her husband who was lost to her in the war fifty years ago. That smile that said more than words could ever express. That smile that showed love, loss, and everything in between. She didn’t know how old she truly looked when she smiled the way she was now, but if anyone would see it Buffy would. "Angel has never been one for sharing. even back then." She started off, laughing at some of the memories that were invoked in her with these thoughts. "I remember wanting to know if he had eaten the last cookie that mother had baked. I had called it earlier before I went out to play, I was maybe 9 at the time. I came back and saw that it was gone and started asking him. He refused to tell me, not wanting to upset me. I chased him around with mother's rolling pin until he told me. I understand sometimes how frustrating it can be to feel like you have to beat an answer out of him. He's always been like that. Though it seems to me he's even more closed off now than he was then." She told her sadly. “He never told me about the girls he was with. He kept that part of his life away from me. I knew about it because I would hear father screaming at him when he would get home at the wee hours of the morning.” She started, not noticing her accent had come back as she started talking about her past. It wasn’t an unusual thing for her accent to flicker in and out when she spoke of the early days of her life, but she hardly noticed it anymore. “I would wait until he was asleep and then sneak into his room and he would smell like the pub. I’d never been in but that smell, you just had to walk by the pub and you could smell it. So I knew what it meant. I would also see lipstick stains on his shirt and face. He was never very careful to hide things from our father…but from me, he always hid it. Before he would get up he would get rid of all the evidence and he’d come in looking just as he had the day before. If it wouldn’t be for the yelling and me being nosy, I would have never known.” She stated with a giggle, knowing how nosy she would seem to most. “He’s never been one to be incredibly open with others. But it seems like you know more than most do. You knew about me before you met me right?” She asked her, hoping the answer was yes but wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was no. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Hearing the little girl's story she was actually brought back to a time when things were simpler. She could almost see the story that Kathy was telling her, and for some reason it made her smile. She had heard stories of Angelus...more than she had cared to admit. Even Angel, back in Sunnydale, had told her a few anecdotes about his time in Ireland. Nothing too in depth as Kathy was right, he was not one to share. More that he told her about his family. How his father had never approved of the way that he lived his life. How he was technically 'Liam' but his sister had started calling him Angel (though she had never learned the reason) and how after his sister had started calling him that...his mother had done so too. She knew little things, but others she'd had to pick up herself.
Hearing Kathy's question she could see the vulnerability in the child's eyes, and hastened to reassure her. "I've known about you since a few months after him and I met. See, at first he didn't tell me he was a vampire. He was just this mysterious guy who would pop up at random times, warn me of danger, and then leave again. I never knew where to find him, I never knew who he was. Hell it took me two meetings with him just to get his name. The first time we met, I knocked him on his butt in the middle of an alleyway. I asked him who he was and he told me he was a friend. When I asked him if maybe I didn't want a friend...he turned around with this smirk...and told me he didn't say he was mine." She stated, laughing at the memory with an almost fond smile. "That's how our relationship started...so as you can probably tell, he didn't tell me everything right away."
"He didn't tell me who he was until the first time we kissed...well...he didn't tell me, so much, as he vamped out and I screamed. It was a very interesting night." She told her with a laugh. "Then later..." She trailed off, remembering Kathy's fear of Darla. "His sire tried to hurt my mom. Angel came in and saved her but I walked in and saw him holding her with a bite on her neck. I drew the wrong conclusions and freaked out. His sire tried to convince him to kill me and we met up at the Bronze, which was a local club. I wanted to kill him, and I told him that. I told him that I invited him into my home and he attacked my mother. He told me that it’s what he did, he killed his family.” Why not? I killed mine. I killed their friends. And their friends children. For a hundred years I offered ugly death to everyone that I met...and I did it with a song in my heart. “Things happened, his sire showed up, tried to kill me, Angel wouldn’t let her. He staked her before she could hurt me…and that was after he had been shot.” She stated with a small laugh.
“It wasn’t until a few weeks later when we were patrolling, that I got up the courage to ask him what he meant.” She told her with a soft smile. “That’s when he told me about you…about his parents…and about his little sister.” She stated sadly. “I could see the anguish in his eyes as he recanted what he had done…or what Angelus had done. So yes, I did know about you…he’s never forgotten you.”
