- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She could feel him pulling away and it bothered her more than she cared to admit. The look on his face as he tried to regain control made her want to scream out in pain. She didn’t understand it, didn’t really understand anything really. She didn’t know why the wolf inside her wanted to howl at the injustice of whatever was going on inside her and it. She didn’t know what the feelings rushing through her were, whether they were human or monster, woman or wolf. She couldn’t tell the difference anymore and while that scared her more than she herself even realized; at the same time it gave her a sort of peace that she hadn’t known in years.
Hearing his statement about keeping in mind that he could forget if he wanted too or if he let himself made her start but continue to sway back and forth at the same time. God could she just learn to keep her mouth shut? Why did she have to pretend she knew what she was talking about when clearly she didn’t have a damn clue? She had been a werewolf longer than most, sure, but she kept to herself for most of that, only coming across a few others who she didn’t click with. So why did she pretend like she was holier than thou about things that she didn’t even know the words for, let alone what they meant.
Laughing an almost hollow laugh she nodded. “Intense is one way to put it.” She stated before going back and realizing she had missed part of his statement. “I’ve never felt like this either you know.” She told him, her eyes on the ground as she exhibited a very unusual sign of insecurity that most never saw her display. “I’m about as innocent in the ways of any of this as one can be Oz.” She told him before sighing, knowing she had to explain that in more depth. She didn’t usually admit some of these things to anyone but herself, but she had a feeling he needed to understand where she was coming from before he could make his own decisions.
“And that means innocent all around…wolf and woman.” She stated, hoping he would understand what she was trying to say. How do you come out and say the exact words to someone that you have more than just a tiny crush on…there was no way she could…so she talked in riddles that hopefully he would understand.

---------------------- [/size]  ----------------------[/size][/center] Oz closed his eyes. It was like standing in the fire. He had needed this for a long time. He should have allowed himself a chance at love so long ago. He had been stuck in a holding pattern, to scared to go forward with no way of going back. If he hadn't abandoned Willow, perhaps she wouldn't have given up on him. He hadn't exactly stayed in touch. There was blame on both sides after all. He pressed it from his mind. He wasn't going to dwell on that tonight. He was working on moving on.
He breathed, that was all he could handle at this point. The contact any contact, had been long time missed. That coupled with the wolf in her he was nearly overwhelmed. It worried him. Was he acting as the wolf or as Oz. But contact made it seem insignificant. It had been so long he had forgotten what it was like to touch other people. He had mentors, but touching wasn't exactly something you did when you were two men alone in the forest. He hadn't held anyone since Willow. It was a shock to his system. To feel the warmth of her skin, to feel her heart beating through his fingertips. He forced himself from these musings, he was being bad. Well thinking bad anyways, and then she hit the mother of all guilt trips. Even if it was accidental. She mentioned being innocent about everything his brain did that thing it sometimes does.
It started to put two and two together. She must be a virgin, never had a boyfriend. Oh lord could he pick them. This wasn't the first time. It appeared he had a type. Never had a boyfriend, never been touched. He took a slow breath. He couldn't say he was either of those things thanks to Varuca. He glanced to the DJ almost hoping he would start a new song to end the dance. It wasn't something he really wanted to bring up. So he tried to smooth it over and change the subject like he always did, but couldn't think of a subject to change to. So he was silent a little longer. He didn't know if he was ready to talk about sex with her. As deprived as he had been his mind flashed images he really didn't want to be thinking at this point. He felt perverse again and he did his best not to look unsettled.
“Not a bad thing.” He said carefully. Then the perfect distraction from the subject appeared. A woman who looked like she had exploded out of Ireland was searching aimlessly by the bar. “Don't look now but I believe your island neighbor has arrived.”
He spun her so she could look past him at the girl to make sure it was her friend. He shouldn't have brought up feelings. It wasn't that he was trying to send her off to meet her friends, he just wasn't ready to walk down that road quite yet. He wanted her, the wolf did too. But he wasn't about to pray on an innocent woman. What if he was just having a craving for contact now that he had returned to civilization. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She knew she had pushed it too far, she could feel him retreating and immediately felt bad for having let the alcohol and her hormones take over and now she had probably scared him off. In that moment she wished she could really curl up in a ball and hide her blushing face, but unfortunately at the age of 20 that was sort of a old habit that needed to be broken, so she'd have to suck it up and deal with it. She didn’t want to leave and take the chance of never speaking to him again, but she knew she was stifling him and that was definitely not her style.
Feeling him spin her she nodded in Maggie's direction. Yep, it was definitely her. The woman had on green from head to toe and she couldn't help but let the laugh out past her lips when she got a look at her. Maggie was a natural beauty, everyone thought so. Classic pale skin, curly brown hair, green eyes, a bit on the chubby side but still gorgeous, and the green definitely accentuated it...though even for her it was a bit too much. Rolling her eyes at her friend she held up her hand, signaling one minute before turning back to Oz.
“Thanks for the dance.” She told him softly. “And sorry if I came on too strong. I tend to talk before I think and that’s not exactly one of my best qualities…though at this rate I’m wondering if I have any…” She stated, trailing off at the end. “Anyway, I better go.” She told him, waving once and heading towards her friend. Once over to the bar she ordered another screwdriver, downed it in about three sips and grabbed her friend’s arm, pulling her over towards the back couches. “I’m going to take off. Not been the best night and I’m feeling a little blah.” She told her, waiting until the brunette nodded once before waving and heading off.
Signaling a cab she gave him her phone number and watched the club as the cab driver drove her away.
Alcohol was definitely not her thing.
