The Trickster was sick of this. He was just tired of the same old thing, doing the same old thing. He thought it would be exciting to make himself known again, though that didn’t work out well. He walked down the street of a small town in Canada. The Trickster was up to his old tricks, though he wondered if these tricks were just too old. He was still punishing the evil, but he wondered if there was just too much evil.
The Trickster’s mind wandered. He had reappeared back into Richmond, on a beach. This was the beach that he had met Buffy Summers on the night he fell from heaven… again. There had been three incidents that he had fallen from heaven and each one caused by his siblings. He just wished they understood and saw everything the same way he sees everything. It wasn’t that The Trickster hated humanity, he loved it, though he didn’t like aspects of it. He didn’t like how they had gotten him to feel and think twice. That was all Dean Winchester, or both of them and Maddie. The three of them really taught him something and sometimes it was something that he didn’t want to know.
The youngest archangel strolled down the beach. He could see the moon and the stars reflecting off the surface of the water. It was a quiet night and the Trickster wanted to do something fun. He looked around the dead beach when he felt something coming towards him, something with power but not much. Did others figure out that Loki is back? God he hoped not. That would be red flagged in heaven, or maybe not? The only angels that knew he is Loki would be Castiel and Lucifer and Lucifer is in hell and Cas is too busy fighting a war to give a shit.
“don’t play games with me. You will likely loose.” Gabriel called out, playing the part of Loki the Trickster.

Another night of wandering. Really, Spike didn’t know why he had come out all this way when he really should have gone to a club or a pub. But then again, his pocketbook felt a little light, and if he had gone to a place like that, he might get short on cash and not have enough to buy blood. Although, the Scoobies generally kept the fridge stocked with a little O positive and he knew he was welcome to it. But, again, it made him feel a little bad to just filch all their blood and be… well, a leech, for lack of a better term. And sometimes going new places, ones with little people around, gave him enough space to think. Sometimes he’d even scribble down a little poetry. But right now, he was simply walking down the dark length of the beach. Beaches at night were pretty good, as far as Spike thought. Often the only people you met there at night were no-good punks. And Spike pretty much fit that description, his nails all properly painted black and his leather duster curling which-way or another in the soft, cool breeze that came from the sea. Although, the breeze kind of made him want to feel something warm. A cigarette would do. He was recently told to quit by a new little friend of his, but she was just a little kid vampire and Spike didn’t really want to stop, since he could never die from it. Besides, smoking made it feel like he could breathe. As he lit the cigarette, he heard a voice call out to him from across the beach. Something about games? Who the heck was this barmy person? ”No game playing, mate.” Spike called back, his scarred eyebrow raised in confusion. That was a real funny way of saying ‘Who’s there?’ In the darkness, he could see a man, just kind of an average looking sort of bloke, ”Just having a cig.”Although, now they were both kind of awkwardly standing there. What exactly was Spike supposed to do now? He could turn around and walk the other way, but who knew what this guy actually was? He could also try to walk past him, or even try to talk to him, but those options didn’t seem like such a great idea either. So, Spike took a drag on his cigarette, waiting for the other man to make his move. +++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 408 NOTES: Spike vs. The Trickster... this will be funny :3

The Trickster looked at the ocean. He had already called out and had received an answer. The Trickster placed his hand in his pocket as he turned to face who ever it was. He pulled out a chocolate bar as he stared at the all too familiar man. It was just the youngest archangel’s luck to run into William the Bloody or Spike rather. He needed to thank the man, though he believed that it was unlikely he would ever do that. The archangel thought about messing with him, though he figured that it probably was uncalled for seeing as the vampire was practically doing his job for him.
“no I would assume not.” The Trickster watched him curiously. “you know those will kill you, but you really don’t have to worry about that do you?” The Trickster asked looking at him with a half smile on his face and he unwrapped his chocolate bar. He took a bite out of it and stared at the vampire.
As much as Gabriel wanted to pull something on him he knew that he couldn’t. the first reason would be Maddie would kill him and the second would be he wouldn’t be able to continue to do what he was doing unless Spike was helping him, well Spike was helping him unknowingly anyway. The Trickster let out a sigh and he turned to face Spike. Was he really going to thank him?
“I owe you, you know, and coming from me that’s a lot.” Gabriel said to him with a half smirk. “Use it wisely because you only get one. It was the same with the Winchesters, except they owe me one, because that first one I didn’t quite make it out alive…” The Trickster said, slowing down about mid sentence. “just thinking about it makes me want to drink myself stupid.” Gabriel said raising up his right hand and snapping his fingers. A bottle of vodka had appeared beside him. Gabriel picked it up and started drinking it.
“oh how rude of me, want some?” Gabriel asked offering the bottle to him. The archangel was in a very weird mood, having weird mood swings, and being very distracted.

As the man replied to Spike’s explanation of what he was doing on the beach, it became immediately evident that, despite his look, this was no average man. Spike cautiously approached him, his eyes squinting as he scrutinized the bloke, as if he was trying to make sense of him as he went on. Somehow, he knew he was a vampire. Somehow, he owed Spike. He hadn’t the foggiest about who the Winchesters were, besides something that sounded like a gun or a fancy tea china brand. And then he made a bottle of liquor appear out of nowhere. If he wasn’t so concerned that this man might want to kill him, Spike thought he might have just found a new best friend. ”You know I have no idea what you’re gabbing on about, right?” Spike accepted the bottle from Gabriel and took a swig from it, feeling pretty confident it wasn’t poisoned. Poison couldn’t really kill the vampire, but he knew he could be paralyzed or incapacitated by it. He took a second drink before handing it back to the archangel, ”But by your liquor, your chocolate, and the bending reality bit, I’m guessing you’re that one fellow. Go by Gabriel, don’t you?””I feel flattered, though. Buffy only got beer, as I heard it,” Spike nodded to the vodka. It had been quite smooth. Man obviously knew what he was doing, ”Do I get an angel-killing sword now?”Despite his attempts to be witty, Spike was primarily on auto-pilot with his sarcasm. Inside his head, he was a bit boggled. Meeting an archangel was a bit surreal, especially since it seemed so random for them to meet on a beach in Virginia, ”So, I’m assuming that you owe me ‘cause I saved Ginger’s life. From a woman that, evidently, you helped out of a jam. If you want my opinion, don’t think you made the right choice there.””Any case, you’re a right strange man, and before you give me anything, I propose we have a nice long drink and you can explain yourself,” The vampire knew he probably couldn’t make the archangel do anything, nor explain himself, but Spike had to admit he was curious about the workings. Maybe he could ask about the Powers that Be and if the two divine powers knew anything about each other, which had been something he had mulled around in his head since he had met Maddie. By the way the prophet had described Gabriel, Spike knew he had someone with a great amount of information and power in front of him. He would have to try very hard not to piss him off. +++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 444 NOTES: Spike vs. The Trickster... this will be funny :3

The Trickster looked at Spike and smiled. He took a few bites from his chocolate bar. This vampire was pretty amusing, amusing in his sort of humor. Gabriel looked at him when he said that he had no idea what he was talking about. He simply smiled and took another bite. He would figure it out sooner or later. The youngest archangel took a few more drinks from his vodka bottle before handing it off to the vampire who took a few drinks from it as well. As the vampire drank from it, the Tricksters ate from his chocolate bar. Once he had finished it off, he dropped the wrapper on the ground and he looked over to him and took the vodka bottle from him, then taking a few sips from it himself.
The Trickster looked at it. It wasn’t going to do anything to him. He really needed a large amount of alcohol to even feel something. The Trickster looked up from the vodka bottle to Spike who figured that he was Gabriel. Gabriel moved quickly to cover the vampire’s mouth.
“not so loud. They are listening, well, maybe not because they think I am dead again but they may be looking for me and since you have been hanging around Maddie, they may be watching you too and this looks a little weird.” Gabriel said with a smile and he then took his hands off of the vampire and brushed of his shoulder while saying “there, see? All good.” The Trickster sang as he walked away from Spike. “oh just a warning if you try biting me its like biting a stone wall.” he warned Spike, implying that his skin could break every tooth and his jaw.
The Trickster looked at Spike when Spike was talking. He looked at him and shrugged. “I was in a beer mood then.” Gabriel shrugged, taking a large drink from the vodka bottle, leaving a little bit of lit left. He offered the rest to Spike. He then looked at Spike and raised an eyebrow at him. “the one I gave her was from one of my siblings, not mine. The kid has mine.” Gabriel said to Spike with a small shrug. “borrow hers?” he then said unwrapping another chocolate bar.
The youngest Archangel looked at Spike as he started talking about Maddie and something else. He looked at him. Gabriel tilted his head to the side a little and narrowed his eyes. “I don’t understand, what wasn’t a right choice? Explain that to me…” Gabriel looked at him half confused. He didn’t understand what the vampire was getting at.
The Trickster looked at Spike. “explain myself? You should explain yourself. She likes you, which is odd since she doesn’t trust anyone easily or if not at all. How did you do it?” Gabriel asked curiously, tilting his head to the side again, just staring at him.
He let out a sigh. He would tell Spike, he had too. He needed the vampire. “ooo, story time, okay… well it starts with the Winchesters putting my dear older brother Lucy in the cage with my other dear older brother Mikey. My third older brother, Raphie just didn’t like it, and yes I was still dead at this time… but Raphie, Raphael, didn’t like that The Winchesters had put Michael and Lucifer in the cage, thus ending the apocalypse so he made it his mission to pop them out of their little cage in hell. My younger brother, the Angel Castiel doesn’t like that so he basically started this huge ass civil war and when… well shit happened and then I blasted me and Raphael to heaven, then I came back to earth, met Buffy, got into another huge fight with Raphael where he and a demon had taken Maddie, I could only save her and Dean Winchester if I joined Raphael and then I had someone help me fake my death and here we are.“ The Trickster looked at him telling him what he knew that he didn’t know.
“What do I need to explain? Where I have been for the past…” Gabriel thought a moment. “how ever long I have been gone?” Gabriel felt kind of angry now. The ground beneath them started to shake. “now listen to me I have been running circles around myself to stay away I need to stay away for now.” The ground stopped moving and he started laughing.
“havent done that since well thousands of your years ago.” he paused a moment again. “awesome.” Gabriel smiled, amused with it.
"lost my train of thought. right, stay away until angels are certain I am dead and then bam I come back, but I need you and Buffy."

Spike’s brow creased as the angel placed a hand across his mouth for saying his name. It wasn’t really that he was outraged the man did that, it sounded like he had a good reason to. It was just that not too many people ever put any part of their bodies willingly next to a vampire’s set of chompers. It was kind of a strange feeling. As the angel dusted his shoulder of imaginary flecks of something, Spike eyes followed his hand and kept staring at him even once he had backed away. Spike had kind of figured angels would have some kind of imperviousness. He wasn’t planning on biting him anyway, especially since the vampire had heard he could be poofed with one touch. It was nice to know they could turn that off if needed. ”An angel drinking liquor. Kind of defeats the purity and light aspect, don’t it?” The vampire shook his head while running his fingers through his hair, as if to smooth it down. Blimey, this was odd. He was trading jokes with a holy creature, the exact opposite of him on paper. But standing here with the angel now made him feel like he knew nothing about angels, despite what Maddie had taught him. Perhaps it was that Gabriel was different. It was just interesting that Spike couldn’t stop himself from joshing the angel. And, dear lord, how many candy bars could the bloke eat? Spike liked chocolate himself, even being a dead man, but seriously, it was kind of strange to watch something so powerful chow down on candy. Spike merely had to shake his head about borrowing the sword from Maddie, ”I don’t think I’d ever want a chance to use it.” Sure, Spike still loved a good brawl, craved a little violence now and again, even. But it seemed far too dangerous to go up against something like an angel, even if Spike was equipped with a bad-ass sword. ”There was a hunter that nearly put a bullet in your little prophet’s skull. She said she owed you one for saving her or some such rubbish, but she’s obviously one fry short of a happy-meal. Thought you had divine wibbly wobbly time powers. You didn’t see this coming?” Truly, the blond vampire didn’t know if Gabriel could see his future or if he just didn’t care. But Spike did figure that his grand powers could have done something more to protect his charge. ”I was honest with her, for one,” Spike put a little curtly to answer why Maddie had warmed up to him so quickly. Hopefully it wouldn’t perturb the angel too much, ”She kind of… knew me already from her visions. And it doesn’t hurt that I’m fantastically handsome.”The vampire mused as Gabriel filled him in on the history. It was a bit complicated, but Spike could more or less follow it, ”Right. The war. I heard about that.” The whole averting the Apocalypse thing was a bit old hat for Spike though. Hell, he had gone through at least three of those things. The Apocalypse was steadily becoming an apocalypse that happened six or so months ago or an apocalypse that happened back in Bristol or something like that. When the archangel’s temper began to rise, Spike was certainly not expecting the ground to quake. His feet shifted up and down in the beach’s sand, trying to remain standing. Then, with a laugh from the angel, it had stopped, ”Yeah,” The blond’s voice trailed off with that tone where one is not certain how sane the person they’re talking to is, ”I get it though. I’ve come back from the other side once and laid low. You have to. ‘Specially when people are looking for you.”“Need us for what?” Spike’s eyes narrowed, ”I figure you’ve been out of the loop and all, but Buffy and I have plenty of our own apocalypses to avert and Big Bads to take care of. We can only take on so many side projects.”+++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 673 NOTES: Spike is always amusing ;3

The Trickster looked at his candy bar. He started munching on it more knowing that he could eat a million of them. He never knew the loveliness of this wonderful desert or any of the wonderful deserts would taste so good. He loved them all. He could eat this forever. That was one of the things that the Trickster didn’t like about Heaven. This stuff didn’t exist in the place. He could never live with out it now. The part really stuck, the part of playing the Trickster really stuck.
The youngest archangel looked at the bleached blond vampire and laughed a little at his statement. “ha, purity and light aspect, what a joke. You want to know what I called my douchey older brother Lucifer before he killed me? I called him a bag of dicks. I live the life of a Trickster, which means kill for just deserts. I’m still a holy being, just not a very good one, and neither are my siblings. Castiel called Michael and assbutt. Now when I was told that, I found that pretty hilarious. He cant say a bad word for shit.” Gabriel smiled to Spike, showing him that pure and light don’t exactly scream angel.
So the vampire didn’t want to use the sword. Gabriel looked at him with a serious face. “oh you’re going to have to use it. It kills angels AND demons. I don’t know if it kills other supernatural beings, but I wouldn’t doubt it. I do know for a fact it kills Hellhounds too.” Gabriel half smiled to Spike.
Gabriel looked at Spike and listened to his words. Alessandra almost killed Maddie? That was weird. He then laughed a little. “haha you said wibbly wobbly time. You got it wrong though its wobbly wobbly timey wimey powers. And no, I didn’t see this coming. It doesn’t work like that. To see it I have to be there. Though, I do see a lot… wasn’t really looking, but you know what I know? Dean is here and now you, you two can help and now that Buffy knows she can help too.” Gabriel said looking around a bit, trying to sense around him, see if anything or one was lurking.
The youngest archangel nodded and agreed with him. His eyes narrowed when he said that he was fantastically handsome. He looked at Spike when he said that he heard about the war. Ok, so Maddie talked to him more than he thought. “I don’t know if they are looking for me, I played this act when I left heaven the first time. The second time, I really did die and this time I made a stale act. Who knows. Maybe they believe it? don’t know.” Gabriel shrugged. He needed to make sure though.
“this isnt an ordinary side job. She is recording your slayer the story needs to be told. I cant help right now. If hell gets a hold of a prophet a bunch of” Gabriel lost his train of thought he then looked at Spike and he then said “if hell gets a prophet and the angels don’t know, we are all fucked.” Gabriel finished looking at Spike seriously.

”So you and your brothers are more of the vengeful types, eh?” The vampire said with a little twitch of his lips. After all, he could recall vague passages of the Bible describing Angels decimating cities and such in the Old Testament. It made him wonder how much of the things in that book were true or not. Were the Angels all actually one dysfunctional family? The way they acted sounded more like the Scoobies sometimes than the virtuous, kind beings that they were in pop culture. Then again, being a vampire, Spike knew a thing or two about being misrepresented in movies and such, ”Should have figured as such,” They were, after all, fighting what sounded like a pretty brutal and testy civil war. And of course, the big guy was nowhere to be found to stop things. But that made it more interesting in the end, didn’t it? Titling his head to one side, he finally picked up the vodka bottle and drained it of the last of its contents before tossing it over to the angel. Either Gabriel would make the bottle disappear or he would refill it. Either one was good with Spike. But concerning the sword, he shrugged, ”If it can lop off heads like a normal sword, I think it’d be able to kill just about anything.” Really, most things died when you cut off their heads. Guns were fun every so often, but a nice battleax or broadsword seemed to be much more effective when the demons you dealt with often met their end by slicing them apart. ”Paraphrasing,” Spike gave as an explanation that he had made the reference correctly. Or as correctly as he deigned to do. He certainly wasn’t a fan boy like Andrew was, and the only reason that phrase had slipped into his vocabulary was because of the flamboyant, nerdy watcher, ”In any case, for a girl you’re supposed to guard, I’ve been the one doing a lot of guarding. Now, she’s a sweet thing, and I don’t know about this Dean bloke, but I don’t see what the Slayer or I get out of being your lackeys. ‘Cept a whole lot of trouble.””Did they find you after the first time?” He wasn’t really sure why he was asking this, perhaps he just wanted more information. To see how the Angels worked more, ”They’ll be looking for the same pattern, no doubt.””End of the world as we know it?” It was really only a half-question, since Spike’s tone was pretty flat. It was really only to confirm that a prophet being taken by Hell would result in, surprise, an apocalypse. But it made sense. As far as he knew, seers and prophets were directly linked into the Powers the Angels and evil hell beasts having a line to the ultimate forces of good seemed like a bad idea in all aspects, ”So, what, you want me to keep an eye on the girl? Make sure Daddy or whoever doesn’t get her?”He made to take another puff on his cigarette, but found it had gone out. That’s what he got for drinking and smoking at the same time. Instead, he flicked it to the ground and crushed it with his heel. There was one more question that Spike wanted to know, that he had gotten distracted from, just like his cigarette, ”You know what the Powers That Be are? They’re not your boys, I don’t think. But they’re a lot like you.”+++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 585 NOTES: Spike is such an addict. God.

Gabriel shook his head when Spike asked if they were vengeful. Vengeful wasn’t really the word that Gabriel would use. They did what they were told, well some of them did… or all except Gabriel and Lucifer. Gabriel could remember what it was like living with his siblings all too well. They were pretty much the reason why he left. He left because he couldn’t stand Michael and Lucifer fighting anymore. He just didn’t want to deal with it, so he ran and they all thought that he was dead.
“not vengeful. that’s a little too much and a little too much father sounding. No, angels just do as they are told, no free will among the younger ones basically meaning everyone but the archangels. We have free will. Castiel got the sense of it hanging around the Winchesters and now his followers got the sense following him. Its really complicated. Too hard to explain type of a thing.” Gabriel shrugged to Spike. “and don’t get me wrong. Angels help, they really do, they help and protect. Just not in a traditional way, if you get what I am saying.” Gabriel added, not wanting the vampire to believe that Gabriel’s family was horrible, because they really weren’t. they were just misguided by Raphael is all.
The youngest archangel watched the vampire pick up the vodka bottle and finished it. Gabriel took it back and refilled it, drinking from it and chugging it. Angels didn’t need to breathe. Gabriel refilled the bottle once more and he decided to slow down. Last time he got drunk was with Dean and then he made the floors move in his hotel room like the Jetsons’ floors on that cartoon show.
“possibly, since its from heaven. I just never really use it. I gave her the real one. The fake one that I have is made out of a can of orange splice… that and I have a regular angel blade too, the archangel’s blade has more power to it.” Gabriel half explained. He really didn’t know if it could kill everything but it kind of made sense, seeing as it was heavenly and most of heavens weapons were very harmful to humans, angels and demons, the whole shebang.
The archangel looked at Spike and he smiled. Maddie was a fan, that’s how he knew. She was cool like that, different, one of the only human girls that he met who was into all the comic books and tv shows like that. He also noted that she doesn’t like reality tv shows.
“nah, just pointing out that I get the reference.” Gabriel shrugged. He looked at Spike and felt the anger again. Was he just that stupid? He obviously has a simple mind. “DON’T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT?! Lackey is a harsh word. I’m asking for your help so that I don’t kill her on accident.” Gabriel yelled at Spike, this time holding back the ground shaking and weather changing. Part of him wanted to scare Spike, but he knew that Spike knew what he was dealing with and wouldn’t try anything. It wasn’t like Gabriel was going to kill him either. He needed the bastard. He couldn’t be seen, not yet. As much as he liked the prophet and as good friends they are, he couldn’t risk Raphael killing her, like the time he almost succeeded. Spike didn’t know that though, and Gabriel didn’t realize that until now. His eyes half widened and he let out a small sigh with a small sarcastic chuckle.
“she didn’t tell you what happened? Thought she might have.” the Trickster said. That was all he was going to say, unless of course Spike asked about it. He just didn’t want the vampire mad at Maddie. wasn’t her fault. Was never hers. It was his, when he stood up to Raphael and made his presence known to heaven. That was stupid but he had to help Dean. Gabriel knew what his older brother was capable of. Dean wouldn’t have lasted a second. He didn’t when everything happened with the demon and his brother. That was a mess that the archangel never wanted to encounter again, so here he is again, trying to avoid it at all costs.
Spike was asking more questions. That was good. The archangel shook his head. “no I ran away, then the Winchesters made me out, killed by my brother saving their sorry asses… and Kali’s which I regret, She’s a bitch, and then I was brought back to life by father, and then Dean Winchester got his sorry ass into trouble again and I appeared to stand up against Raphael. that’s how they found out.” Gabriel paused. “I suck at rescue missions. That one with Raphael ended with me banishing myself to heaven for a while which wasn’t really a walk in the park, and I escaped. that’s how I met Buffy. Then I ended up going back and bam faked my death so yeah, they are probably looking.” Gabriel replied to the vampire.
“yeah I guess you could say that.” Gabriel responded to Spike. It was true, that would probably happen if Hell got a prophet. “for you guys anyway. Prophets don’t watch just anyone. You were specially chosen. Heaven has some importance for Buffy.” Gabriel said, knowing that was true. He did make it so that she would see heaven again, when she died of old age, she would be in heaven, as she was before. No one, not even Raphael could change that.
“that would help. I’m still watching her too, she just cant know. She can know you talked to me though. The angels cant get things out of her brain unless she lets them in and that’s never going to happen. She just cant see me. Plus, I highly doubt the angels would believe a vampire anyway.” Gabriel said, not really watching what he was saying. He did that a lot too. “oh and daddy’s a handful. He is well known in hell, powerful demon. I only scare him away, never had the chance to actually kill him.” Gabriel said drinking more of the vodka. He then looked from the bottle to Spike and offered him more. “he is a messed up being. Was when he was alive too. She would have to tell you about that, not my place.” Gabriel said, now munching on a chocolate bar.
He made a sarcastic laugh hen Spike mentioned the powers that be. He did some research after meeting Buffy. “I can blow those asshats out of the water. They don’t seem that powerful and they must know father, since they don’t mess with our business. I heard of them for the first time from Buffy, did a little digging. I will find out more from Joshua when the time comes, which is when he talks to father. He’s the only one that does.” Gabriel said, now making a bottle of chocolate wine appear and he started drinking that, leaving the vodka for Spike.

”Like me,” The vampire gave a cheeky little grin. For a while now, he had been helping people out, though in his own way, and that way was probably as far from traditional as you could get. But he vaguely remembered the whole ‘free will’ debacle from Maddie telling him. Between that and Gabriel saying it was too complicated to explain how a group of the ‘younger ones’ got free will, Spike decided to leave it. Though he had to admit he was a bit curious. ”Orange splice?” Spike repeated. How did one make a sword out of that, exactly? Well, then again, cosmic powers of the universe and all. Anything could happen, ”Well, as it’s said, your people… well, your ‘father’ created everything. Makes sense his weaponry would be able to off anything. Is that true, by the way? The whole ‘let there be light’ shebang?”Once again, Spike’s mouth got him into trouble, as it had for all of his unlife. As the archangel raged against him, the ground didn’t shake and the sky was free of lightning and thunder, but the anger was still sort of… palpable. He could kind of feel it like a blow to his chest. It wasn’t a true sense of fear, since he didn’t think Gabriel was looking to kill him, but Spike reminded himself to be cautious. With the way this guy’s temper had swung from happy to furious and back again, it was possible that the Spike’s lack of censoring would push the angel over the edge, and he would dust him without thinking about it. Spike still had to work on his impulse issues and now was a good time to see how much he could restrain himself, considering. The vampire made a small gulp before he spoke, but once the angel realized that Maddie hadn’t talked to him about ‘what happened’, Spike felt as if he had the chance to speak again, ”You’re a little too much firepower to protect one girl, is that right? And they’re coming after you, and her if they can. I get it.” Even though the ginger prophet hadn’t told him anything that was directly related to anyone attacking her besides her father, Spike could figure that whoever was looking for Gabriel wasn’t above using Maddie as a way to get to the angel. Gabriel’s little explanation of how he came in and out of heaven and was intriguing, but kind of left Spike with more questions than before. For instance, the only time he had really heard the name Kali was when he had chowed down on a Hindu priestess in 1910. The girl was begging for the dark goddess to come down and smite Spike as he drained her. Obviously, nothing of the sort happened. Was that really the Kali the angel was referring to? Then again, the bloke’s other name was Loki, so all the mythology Spike had somehow gleaned over his years of travel was starting to all blend together in some weird way or another. The bleached-blond only nodded when Gabriel confirmed when other angels would be looking for him. ”Well, I suppose saving the world on a consistent basis probably would make some people up their notice us,” Spike gave a little sniff, as he was prone to do. But really, he was more struck with thought when the angel said that Buffy held some importance to heaven. Really, wasn’t the girl burdened with enough? She had already been to heaven once and she deserved to go back there whether she did as they said or not. Of course, she would help them. That’s the kind of person the Slayer is. ”Eh.” The blond mumbled in a rather non-committal way when Gabriel said that the angels wouldn’t rely on what a vampire would say, ”Angel or no, not a lot of people believe me,” It was just in the way he spoke and looked. The ironic thing was that Spike typically told the truth. But it was nice to know that the link between Maddie and the angels could be shut off, ”I heard enough,” Spike said in reference to Maddie’s father, his tone a bit getting a dark, ”Powerful demon, though? Makes me want to test my luck against him.” ”So what you’re saying is… that you blokes are the real deal, and the Powers are just annoying little pricks?” Spike paused as he took the vodka bottle back and took a nice long drink from it, ”That makes a lot of sense, actually. Powers don’t do anything besides send messages and randomly resurrecting folk once every blue moon.”+++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 773 NOTES: I don't mind long posts, in general. The youngest archangel looked at Spike when he said like me. He half nodded and looked at him once more. He really hated doing all the talking. “dude, if you have any questions, just ask. I hate being the only one talking. See, Maddie asks questions and that type of a thing. She talks, you just stand there listening. Its annoying, and just weird.” Gabriel said tilting his head to the side, staring at Spike, wondering why he wouldn’t say anything.
“yeah can of soda. Bending reality, made it look like my blade.” Gabriel responded as he finished off his chocolate bar and threw the wrapper on the ground. Gabriel then looked at him and gave Spike a half shrug. “yeah more or less. I was paying more attention to Raphael striking me with lightning, or Michael and Lucifer fighting, pulling my fair share of pranks…” Gabriel said to Spike.
Gabriel went back to staring at Spike and he then smacked himself in the forehead. “sorry. Little things makes me angry. Guess the whole wrath thing is still there. don’t worry though. You can piss me off all you like, I’m not stupid enough to kill you.” Gabriel said as he took another drink from his chocolate wine. He then looked at Spike and gave him a smirk. “plus if I do happen to kill you on accident I can always bring you back. it’s a wonderful thing called resurrection.” Gabriel said as he sat down on a chair that happened to pop out of nowhere. “want a seat?” Gabriel then asked.
Gabriel looked at Spike with a confused look on his face. “no, I’m not too much fire power, and my brother already did go after her. My brother recruited a demon by the name of Ruby. They nearly killed her before I got there. I only got there because of another Angel playing double agent for Castiel told me where they were. I got there with Dean and to save her I had to make my brother believe that I was on his side. Now that I faked my death, who knows what will happen.” Gabriel said to him. He remembered that day. He always did.
Gabriel shook his head. “yeah she was in heaven once, and brought back here but I told her there is a spot for her, a spot I’m giving her and no other angel could change it. I can give you all one if I really wanted to.” Gabriel said honestly to Spike looking at him. “she doesn’t have to obey anyone for it either. It was my gift to her. She deserves it for everything she has done. That and for saving my life.” Gabriel smiled. “and she knows how to kill angels.” He finished taking another drink from his wine.
Gabriel looked at the vampire. He hated to say it but he did. He trusted the vampire. “yeah well I do. I trust you, and that really means a lot, more than you think.” Gabriel said to Spike with a smile. His smile faded when Spike said that he heard enough. Good. It seemed as if the vampire hated the demon too. Gabriel had enough information then. He knew he was doing the right thing, for now. He needed to find Castiel to make it so that Maddie couldn’t be sensed by the angels anymore. Gabriel couldn’t do it, he didn’t want to risk it. “I’m going to ask my younger brother Cas a favor, to make it so that the other angels cant sense her and loose her completely. Then she will be fine. I will be too, and you are off the hook, doing whatever it is that you do.” Gabriel said to Spike, giving him his game plan. Like Gabriel mentioned before, he trusted the vampire. He just hoped that Spike knew what that meant.
“possibly. I don’t know. Like I said. I am waiting on that one. And they do sound like us with the messages and the resurrections. But angels don’t do that much because we piss death off if we do and that guy has one hell of a mean streak.” Gabriel replied, drinking more chocolate wine and once he had finished it off he refilled it.
The archangel was feeling a little buzz. He put the bottle down a minute and waited for it to stop. “last time I started feeling like this, I collapsed on a table, drank more, fell off the table and made the floor all move-y like the cartoon show the Jetsons. Rode it around and around. That was actually kind of fun.” Gabriel said now feeling the sensation going away.

”Alright then.” Spike blinked a bit in surprise. He was a bit amused and perhaps even a bit flattered when the archangel encouraged him to ask him question. Really, Spike was more of a listener, unless asked directly or made mad. If one wanted to get psychological about it, his tendency to just make a few quips rather than interview people had come about from a long line of people throughout his history not caring what he said and often telling him to shut it. Not that he really ever paid attention to them, but still, he could remember plenty of times where he had been there for Dawn, for Buffy, even for Fred where he just listened to what they said, taking it in. Then again, perhaps Gabriel sensed that Spike had a question and didn’t ask it. Well, if he wanted questions, there was one. Spike crossed his arms, and tilted his head the opposite way Gabriel had, ”Are you reading my mind?” If he was, that would be incredibly strange. Not a lot in the world could read a vampire’s mind. Had something to do with why their reflections never showed up on reflective surfaces. But it also crossed his mind that the angel wanted to make a connection with him, get them both on the same side. Spike had to admit, even with his mood swings, the angel didn’t seem like a bad fellow. Spike could probably grow to like him quite a bit. When the angel more or less confirmed the whole creation of the world was because of God, Spike grinned a bit, ”Well, if it’s questions you want, I could have a score of them about that little black book that so many people like,” Spike sipped some of the vodka again, creating a small pause, ”I mean, really, how much of that is true? Raining frogs, garden of Eden and all. Not to mention ‘thou shalt not suffer a witch’. I know plenty of nice witches, thank you.””Yeah, done that before,” Spike gave a little sniff at the mention of resurrection. Really, he hoped that he wouldn’t get killed by the angel. Despite being able to bring him back, Spike would be waiting in hell and that was not where Spike wanted to be. If he could help it, he’d never go back again, or at least not for a very long time. Burning for eternity wasn’t on the vampire’s list of things to do, ever. He gave a little barking laugh to Gabriel offering him a seat in the middle of the dark beach, ”You got a recliner in there somewhere?”Spike passed a thumb across his lips, which stung a bit from drinking the vodka too quickly, ”No. Wait. She did say something about that. I called you all rotten bastards and she agreed with me. Well, I do have a standing invitation to her house, so that makes things easier, I guess.” As Gabriel spoke about Buffy being in heaven, how a spot was reserved for her. His hand went to the back of his neck to rub it a bit and Spike thought for a moment, ”If you archangels can reserve a place for people in heaven… can you save people from hell? Make sure they don’t go back there?” He kind of left it there. Of course, he was mostly thinking of himself, but it could apply to others as well. Anya was once a demon, for instance, and Spike held enough friendly affection for her to hope that she wasn’t burning down below. The vampire raised his head as Gabriel said he trusted him, ”You trust me to protect her,” The vampire rephrased what the angel had said to match the conversation at hand. After listening to the rest of the plan, Spike quirked an eyebrow and asked to confirm, ”So. I just make sure she’s okay until you make her not exist… to angels, that is?””Really? Didn’t know angels were such lightweights.” Spike probably shouldn’t have teased Gabriel, but it was just the vampire’s nature. Spike could probably drink the full bottle of vodka before he got to a drunken state, and while he was sure the angel wasn’t drunk yet, it kind of made Spike wonder what a drinking contest against him would be like. Then again, maybe not. The bloke might bend reality to his favor. Who knew. Spike merely took another drink of vodka. ”Alright, answer me this too, then. Why me?” The blond vampire’s brow was a bit furrowed as he said this, genuinely being interested, ”There’s a lot of other folk out there that are older or stronger than I am, even in the Slayerettes. And I don’t exactly scream righteous white knight material.” Really, even though Spike did want to help and redeem himself, this sort of thing sounded like something that would normally be given to Angel. Then again, the brooding potato-eater was being a complete pissant and causing a whole other fuss, right as they thought everything had gotten to a state of calm. In any case, Spike looked towards the angel, awaiting the answer. +++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 847 NOTES: There are some weird things in the Bible :p

The Trickster Gabriel looked at Spike. He smiled when he agreed to ask questions. Thank god. Now he wouldn’t have to stand here talking all the freakin’ time. Sometimes he got sick of it and sometimes he loved being the one who knows more than others. Gabriel just stared at Spike. He was thinking, which was a good thing. Maybe he would finally talk instead of the very little that the Vampire had been doing. The youngest archangel looked around, and waited for the vampire to say something. The Trickster looked out into the ocean again and he started to let his mind wander. He thought about father and where he thought his father might be. He knew that no one knew, only Joshua talked to him, never told anyone anything. Gabriel hated that. The Trickster’s snapped out of it when Spike started talking again. He looked at Spike oddly when he asked if he was reading his mind.
“nope. No reading the mind, just the face.” Gabriel responded as he took another drink from his wine. That was kind of a dumb question, though Spike doesn’t really know anything about him so, it was reasonable. The Trickster took another drink and looked over at Spike.
Gabriel started laughing at his statements about the bible. All of those over exaggerated, pranks that Gabriel pulled to be believed as acts of God. The Archangel looked at the vampire seriously about to answer the question about the frogs but the memories came back and he just started laughing again. “oh boy. that’s too funny. Completely forgot about that one.” The Trickster continued to laugh and it started to die down moments later. “sorry, sorry. The frog thing, that was actually me and Lucifer. Good times. He was teaching me something and I screwed up as always and that’s what caused that. But the garden of Eden? that’s all real. that’s what Joshua does, the angel that still talks to God, he care takes the garden.” Gabriel paused before looking at Spike again. “the bible is loosely written, more creative writing so to speak, though revelations is going to happen, does happen, did happen… almost did happen.” Gabriel said to Spike with a shrug.
Gabriel looked at Spike and he raised an eyebrow. That sounded like her. He laughed when Spike finished his statement. He missed it. He then looked at Spike and he nodded. “yeah we are allowed to, but its kind of frowned upon. I can give a rats ass though. I can give anyone entrance to Heaven, which sometimes I give it to people I deem worthy who I know are damned either way.” Gabriel smirked to Spike. “why do you ask?” Gabriel then looked at him curiously.
Gabriel nodded. The youngest archangel nodded to his last statement. As much as he hated it. He wondered how long the vampire would stick around. The youngest archangel trusted the vampire but knew that even he wouldn’t stick around. He could see it in the vampire. Gabriel would just have to let that little factor go. “humor me. After that happens, how long do you plan on sticking around? Just curious.” Gabriel said looking at the bottle of wine that he held, the bottle of wine he put more alcohol in that wasn’t safe for humans.
The Trickster laughed at his next statement. “we arent. This bottle here is more alcohol than grapes itself. It would kill an average person. An Angel’s metabolism is too fast for the effects of alcohol, though if an angel does drink enough quickly, then yeah, something will happen.” Gabriel looked at Spike and then started drinking more. He really did feel something, and he needed to stop, though he really didn’t want to.
“cant answer that question. Ask her.” Gabriel said to him folding his arms across his chest. “well I could answer it, but I’m not going to.” The youngest archangel looked at him seriously, knowing that the vampire would probably not like the answer at all. Gabriel knew that the vampire was no ordinary one but one with a soul, like angel, except this one wont loose his soul. He knew that she would be safe, that Spike wouldn’t hurt her, though he would have to put faith that she wouldn’t get killed by anything else. “I think she knows that you arent righteous white knight material, but she believes you have a good heart, and even after all the evil, I see it. If you want me to give you a bigger reason, I can touch your soul, though that’s painful and like a nuclear bomb if I screw up.” Gabriel sighed a little.

”Oh. Well. That’s… good,” The vampire, in fact, was feeling quite relieved that the angel wasn’t peering into his head. Not that Gabriel said he couldn’t… just that he wasn’t. In any case, the way Gabriel put it kind of made him feel like a little kid. Of course, in comparison to something older than the Earth, Spike was a child… relatively speaking. And Spike did know that he did give a lot away just by his expressions. It was not exactly surprising that a lot of the crazier things in the bible had just been Gabriel and his brothers messing about. Spike gave a little scoff, ”You must have scared those Egyptians something awful.””Tell me more about Lucifer.” Spike said, just to continue the conversation. It would also prove to be interesting information just in general, ”If you ask me, the bloke’s a bit overhyped.””Joshua? He’s… a prophet too, I take it.” The name vaguely reminded Spike of someone in the bible that he thought was a prophet, though all things considered, he really didn’t remember too much about the holy book offhand. It was strange that, ever since he had met Maddie and now Gabriel, Spike was reaching back the hundred twenty years or so more and more to try to remember his bible study. It was also strange to think that Eden was out there in some misty vague part of the earth., ”So, Genesis is a little less metaphorical than some would think.”When Gabriel asked Spike why he was interested in saving people from Hell, the vampire simple stared at the vodka bottle for a little while. After another sip, smaller than the ones he had been taking, he spoke, ”Well, I’ve been there. Kind of on and off... like one minute I’m burning up, the next, back on Earth. Kind of a long complicated story where I was going there for someone else… I just… sometimes I think I’ll end up back there. Especially sooner than I want to. So, if you really do owe me, maybe you can just make sure I don’t burn for eternity.””You know, for a long time I thought that everything I killed just died and that was all,” Spike murmured. His voice was a bit softer and reflective, trying to be respectful of the subject and those he had killed in the past. The archangel had talked a lot and had encouraged Spike to speak, so he thought it would be alright to say what was on his mind. Plus, the vodka had started to loosen his tongue as well, ”But when Buffy came back and when I was being dragged down... it became more… complicated. I’ve thought a lot more than I have in the past, about everything, really. Since I got my soul. I don’t figure that I belong up there with her, but… she deserves it. So… thank you for making sure she’ll go there.”After that, Spike went back to nursing his bottle before Gabriel asked him another question, ”Sticking around? You mean, how long will I be around Maddie?” Spike glanced back to the archangel, taking a second to pause. He couldn’t really tell if Gabriel wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to abandon the prophet or if he wanted to have Spike get away from her after he kept her protected. Though it didn’t really matter. Angel or no, Spike didn’t think Maddie was going to let Gabriel have a say in whether Spike was in her life or not, ”Well. I go where I’m needed. If Maddie needs me, I’ll be there for her. ””What?” Well, now Spike was quite curious about the angel's drink. He strode a little closer to the angel and leaned a bit closer over the bottle of chocolate wine. With his senses, he didn’t have to get too close before he jerked his head back, overpowered by the smell, ”Bloody hell! You’re drinking chocolate milk and lighter fluid!” After he retreated a ways away, he shook his head until all he could smell was the salty ocean scent, ”God. I hope you’re a fun drunk, at least.”Spike was a bit confused when Gabriel said he couldn’t answer why he had been chosen as Maddie’s protector. Or rather, that Spike should ask the prophet if he really wanted to know. The angel kind of made it sound like Maddie had been the one to pick him rather than it being some kind of cosmic decision. Well. Spike would just have to bring it up with her like Gabriel said. When he offered to evaluate his soul (or whatever he would be doing to it), Spike gave a little snort, ”Touched by a drunk angel? That doesn’t sound too good.” Although, Spike’s soul normally always stung a little when he really concentrated on it, and though this would hurt more, the vampire had to admit he was curious, ”Alright, if your hand’s steady enough, fire away. If you create a Hiroshima, I think your buddies’ll find you right quick, though.”+++ TAGS: Gabriel WORD COUNT: 844 NOTES: This post was very hard to type because of a cat in my lap, so hopefully there are no typos.

Gabriel looked around. He thought it was weird that the beach was so quiet, though he should know that humans wouldn’t be out at… really really early in the morning? Gabriel didn’t know what time it was. He would leave when the vampire decided that he didn’t want to talk to him anymore. Gabriel looked at the chocolate wine and stared drinking more. He waited and decided that he would take this slow. The angel couldn’t really afford to get drunk since he didn’t know if Raphael’s followers were looking for him or not. He would just have to ride it out like he always did through everything.
Gabriel laughed at Spike’s statement. “yeah. It was pretty funny. That and turning the Nile red I think was another one. I did that too on a dare. Father wasn’t really happy about it since he was talking to the prophet Moses all the freakin’ time.” Gabriel shrugged. “we did a lot of things. Scaring people? Yeah we did that too, but most of it was just us trying to get the other in trouble. We were very immature, well I was.” Gabriel added as he took another sip of the wine.
Gabriel looked at Spike when he asked about Lucifer. Over hyped was used. Gabriel thought a moment. No, Lucifer really wasn’t. “no he isn’t and there’s nothing to tell. He is “evil”. I don’t think people really understand. I left before all of this happened but Lucifer wanted to rip father a new one and asked for Michael’s help and Michael betrayed him. Luci obviously wasn’t happy and went and threw his tantrum. Now he is locked in hell except Michael is down there now too thanks to the Winchesters. There really isnt anything to say and think twice before what you say. Im not a fan of people to insult my family.” Gabriel warned him. He knew that people had nasty things to say about Lucifer and his family and Gabriel usually killed them. He knew that Spike hadn’t said anything yet but he was just giving the friendly warning. He also yelled at the Winchesters for dissing his family and his father. Gabriel just didn’t like it. He believed that he could do it because it was his family but other people didn’t have the right to do it.
“no. Joshua is an angel.” Gabriel said to Spike. “here and there it is. A lot of it is true though.” Gabriel replied as he took another sip. The youngest archangel had taken another chocolate bar out of his pocket and unwrapped it. He loved the stuff. “Heaven doesn’t have chocolate or sweets. I love it.” Gabriel smiled as he bit into the chocolate bar.
Gabriel listened to Spike when he started talking. He didn’t say anything, just listened. He then heard Spike talk about his past a little, and then when Buffy came back and how he thought that she deserved it. He nodded. He knew the vampire had his soul and what he was saying made a lot of sense. Part of him felt bad, though it was only a little bit. He knew the vampire deserved it. “actually when you die you would go to purgatory.” Gabriel helped him a little, probably not much.
Gabriel looked at him when he started talking. That was sort of what he wanted to hear. He nodded. “fair enough… if I knew what you meant by that.” Gabriel looked at him, kind of confused a little by his response. “if your afraid, I really don’t care if you hang around her or not. We are just close friends and realize if you hurt her I break you, and that’s going to hurt.” Gabriel paused making it clear to Spike. “I can make you live in a time loop and kill you every day of that loop and make you remember. Its painful. Did it to the Winchesters.” Gabriel laid out the example for Spike. He then smiled to him. “I like you, even though you really deserve me to hurt you badly. Though, all the embarrassment that you got from Buffy is cool with me. You should really drink with Dean and me. It would be a riot.” Gabriel smiled to him, being buddy, buddy again.
“why would I drink lighter fluid?“ Gabriel asked and he then laughed at Spike when he couldn’t take the smell. “I may actually need more than this to get drunk. I remember being funny, though I don’t think its right, or its true.” Gabriel said, unsure if he was making the night up or if he really was entertaining for Dean, though he even wondered if Dean remembered that night too. Probably not. They were both so drunk it was a lost cause.
“Okay, I’m not drunk… yet and no, you really don’t want me to. You thought getting your soul was painful for you, well think of that times 100. Touching a soul is very painful for the person the soul is in. sorry. don’t want to do it anyway.” Gabriel said to him refusing to do it. He hadn’t done it in a while and didn’t want to do it just to blow everything up.
