============================================ He never did understand the point in having a carnival during the colder time of the year. Sure, for him it didn't really matter, the cold not affecting him like it did for the living. But he couldn't get a grasp on why a living human would really want to be out like that. And of course Elena just had to go to this, forcing Stefan to go in order to keep an eye on her. Damn Klaus and his compulsion to force him to do whatever the hell he told him to do. If he wasn't so damned invested on keeping his humanity away, then he would have given in and let Lexi do whatever to him. Just the idea of possibly being released from Klaus' every whim and command was tantalizing. Then he could just wave a hand at Elena's insistent participation in everything Founders oriented. Maybe he should just kill everybody else that's on the council, end this whole carnival and everything else crap that they did. Or he could just kill the mayor. That would probably be enough.
Wandering the area, he had been doing such a good job at actually keeping an eye on Elena. But then other people had caught his attention as well, a pretty girl smiling and enjoying everything. A young male, probably the same age as Jeremy, who was looking absolutely delicious. Snapping back to what he was focusing on, he looked around for Elena and noticed her walking off with some other man. Rolling his eyes, he began to follow slowly, tuning his ear into what they were talking about. Partly to listen in, and also partly to be able to follow a little ways behind so as not to get much attention. Only a short way into the conversation, however, he was less interested in the whole keeping Elena safe aspect. Now he was listening purely for the conversation, finding it to be soaking up all of his attention. Why the hell was Elena walking around with some stranger anyways? Didn't she know any better?
Their conversation continued and Stefan began to make faces, mocking the both of them. Damn, he was getting really irritated and cranky with this whole thing. It would probably be best to just make his presence known and then take Elena away before this Angel guy got her to his bed. Okay, that was a little extreme. Elena wasn't going to just bounce off to some strange guy's house. And she was way too much of a good girl to actually sleep with somebody on a whim like that. Sure enough, she decided that it was time to turn around, and Stefan crossed his arms. Now he was just going to stand there and wait for them to come upon him so that he could act all tough stuff. Get the guy to beat it and then tell Elena, yet again, how she was being incredibly stupid. But then he heard Angel, and something told him that this was not going to end nicely. Elena's scream tore him away from his spot.
Using his vampire speed, Stefan was there in a flash, hand wrapping around the back of Angel's neck and throwing him off of his former girlfriend. "Not only is she not into the whole stranger thing. But she's really not looking to tap into your biting fetish either." He could smell the blood, and it almost overwhelmed him, but knowing it was Elena's kept him from going over. Klaus' compulsion was actually playing nicely into Stefan's favor this time around. "So we can do this the hard way, where we hiss at each other and try to find out who's got the most power... or I can just let you go find someone else to eat. I don't really care if you snack on some other skank, but this one is taken. Sorry." Looking over at Elena, he nodded at her to go, planning on taking care of the other vampire himself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There was something different about her blood, something utterly delicious. It had a rare taste to it that he hadn't before tasted. Although it wasn't a powerful taste, like that of a slayer. It was a gentle and sweet taste, like that of some mystical creature. Of course she was still just a pathetic human no matter what Angelus tried to make of it, he couldn't feel that she was anything else. It was just strange that she tasted of such a way. It made him curious and as he drank, he felt like he'd never stop.
As she pulled against his grasp he dug in deeper, tearing at the veins in her neck. He ripped into her like he had been wanting to do since he'd first seen her. Deeper and deeper he drank, losing himself in her blood. Since the moment he had laid his malice eyes on her he'd known there was something different about her. Something was...off, though right now he had abandoned trying to figure out what. He had lost himself in her so much that he hadn't heard the other vampire behind him. He hadn't been paying attention to be able to sense him coming up behind him and tossing him off of the girl. As his fangs lifted from her neck, they tore at her flesh and he smiled hearing her scream once again.
Regaining his balance he watched as the girl went to leave and the other vampire stood in front of her. He didn't know who the hell this child was and he didn't care. Angelus certainly didn't like his food being torn away from him, not one bit. "I think your wrong about that, friend. I think she liked it a lot more than she let on" he said with a smirk. His face was still his vampire visage, bumpy and all. His fangs remained protruded out of his mouth. The blood was around his lips and down his face, dripping onto his neck. He made no effort to try and wipe it from his face. Instead he actually licked a bit of it off from around his mouth, enjoying the taste immensely.
The other vampire then nodded to Elena for her to leave. Well, that certainly wasn't going to do. Angelus wasn't quite full yet and had been enjoying her too much for her to leave. "Stick around, Elena. I'll be back to you shortly" he said to her from where he stood, about ten feet away from the both of them. As he said this his eyes never left the other male. Who this vampire was, Angelus had no clue. All he knew was that he was going to make him pay for taking his meal away from him. No one got the best of Angelus, no one. His head tilted as he was threatened by the child and an evil laugh escaped him, an insane laugh. One that could only be topped by Drusilla. He was on a blood high from not only the girl, but others, including the slayers he had recently killed. "Nothing about this will be hard. At least, not for me" he said with a smirk. This boy wasn't going to be able to win in a fight. On some deeper level, the boy had to know this. He just had to. Angelus knew he was probably much older and more experienced than this boy. Not only that but hello, he'd just killed and drank five slayers not even a week ago. It was needless to say that this was going to be a small obstacle in his dinner tonight, but nothing to fret about. The older vampire began walking around the younger in circles, sizing him up and just watching and waiting. This was going to be easy and he knew it, he just hoped it'd at least entertain him. "Your just a child, boy. You'd be better off leaving now, while I'll let you" Angelus said with a smirk. He wasn't going to strike just yet. No, he was going to give the boy a chance to escape if he so chose to. If not, he'd rip his head off and continue his dinner that had been so rudely interrupted. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She bit down on her lip as she felt his fangs slide into her skin. Oh god, this was nothing like when Stefan had bit her. Stefan had always been gentle when taking her blood, not counting the one time that Klaus had compelled him to bite her. This was something all together. He was biting to kill, biting to feed. She wasn’t going to make it out of this alive, and she knew that. It saddened her that her last memories would be in the woods, alone, knowing that at that moment she would leave everyone she loved. She prayed someone would take care of Jeremy for her, though knew Alaric would do it in a heartbeat.
She could hear her own heart beat slowing down, she was losing too much blood. She had felt this way before, just once. She could easily remember the sacrifice, the way that Klaus had bit into her neck and the way she had felt her life slip away from her. It was a terrifying way to die, and she could feel the déjà vu setting in as her blood spilled into this vampire’s mouth. This was worse in a way because she had no idea who this vampire was, he was just some random guy she mad met off the street. It scared her in a way.
She could feel the blackness of unconsciousness setting in but before it could fully settle over her she was thrown to the ground. Her hand immediately came up weakly to put pressure on her wound, and as she opened her eyes she was surprised to see the back of Stefan’s head as he faced against the vampire who called himself Angel. She was honestly shocked that Stefan had come to her rescue and for a moment she thought that maybe, just maybe, things had taken a turn for the better. Her inner voice screamed at her that maybe Lexi had gotten through to him, but one look at his face as the two vampires circled each other told her differently.
His face was clearly annoyed and angry. He didn’t want to save her, wouldn’t have if he had not been compelled to make sure she stayed breathing and blood stayed pumping within her veins.
She felt the blood from her neck spilling on her fingers and she wished at that moment more than anything that she had worn a jacket so she could apply pressure with more than just her hand, since it didn’t seem to be doing much good. She watched as Stefan and Angel bantered with one another, but made no move to leave, knowing she wouldn’t get very far. She could barely keep her eyes open from the lack of blood and the falling adrenalin. Something changed in Stefan she noticed immediately, though she couldn’t hear what was being said over the pounding in her ears. One moment he looked as if he was ready for a fight, and the next he was rushing towards her, his speed incredible. She felt herself being picked up in his arms and she held herself still, wanting nothing more than to curl up in his embrace but knowing it would not be well received being that she was bleeding from the neck and he was chalk full of human blood.
She breathed a sigh of relief when they made it to her car. She waited for him to put her down so she could drive but it wasn’t possible, instead he essentially threw her in the back seat, though in reality it he was moving so quickly that it only seemed that way before grabbing the keys out of her hand and gunning her SUV. She knew she was safe, well, as safe as she could be with Stefan. However if she had to choose between the vampire who had been fangs deep in her neck and Stefan, she’d choose Stefan any day. “Thank you.” She muttered before letting unconsciousness over take her.
She was safe, that was all that mattered for the moment.
