~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow knew Buffy was going to say she was fine to go on her own, but that was just how Buffy was never wanting help and always wanting to take things on by herself. But Buffy was right after all, Willow needed to stay here with spike and protect Kathy. If Angelus were to some reason show up Buffy knew that Willow and spike would be the best to keep her safe. Which was the truth Willow wasn’t letting Angelus get anywhere near Kathy, she was going to have to kill her first, that is if Angelus could even get a hold of Willow. She has master her magic a lot better since the last time she took Angelus on, so it wouldn’t be like before. Angel wasn’t going to do anything to Willow or the little girl for that matter.
Willow knew too that Angelus was going to do everything he could to get a hold of that little girl too, he hated Buffy the last time she took his soul and wanted her dead so bad because she had made him feel human. But it had seemed as though Kathy made him feel more human then the last time, Angelus did even sleep with Buffy and he has no soul. It must have be with it being his sister in all, plus having Buffy by his side didn’t help. Willow was sacred to even think about how bad he wanted her dead, it hurt Willow just to think about how sacred poor Kathy had to be going threw. Willow. Willow gave Buffy a smile before she went on her way to get the stuff. “Be careful Buffy I really don’t know what I would do if something happen to you, probably never forgive my self for not going with you. So please come back in one piece.” Said Willow in a worried like tone.
While Willow stood there with spike waiting for Buffy, there was an awarded like silence in the room. She knew that one have them needed to say something, other wise this silence was going to kill Willow. “So spike how have you been doing and were have you been hiding? I have not seen you in awhile.” asked Willow. Not too long after that Buffy had came back with his stuff, and so far she seemed ok and all in one pieces. “So Buffy how it go? Did you have any trouble getting Spike’s stuff?’ Asked Willow.
Spike watched as Buffy left the room alone. Willow and he had both warned her about keeping an eye out for things, so he was sure she would be careful, even if it was unlikely that Angelus would attack her right away. Then again, if Spike knew Angelus to be anything, Angelus was unpredictable. He also knew that Angelus would go after the weakest links. Right now, it was hard to gauge Angelus’ strength, but it wasn’t a stretch to think he could beat any one of Buffy’s friends. And, as Buffy had mentioned, there was his sister. Spike had never really spoken to the little thing, but it was clear that she meant a lot to both Buffy and Angel. Spike also, though he rarely admitted it, had somewhat of an older brother instinct ingrained in him somehow that naturally led him to protect. He was sure if it came down to it, he and Willow would not let Angelus anywhere near Katheryn. He just wasn’t so sure how Angel would feel about Spike being around his sister. The blonde vampire let himself drift off further into thought, trying to think of what Angelus might do, what his plan might be. In their brief fight, Angelus told Spike that he wasn’t just up to killing the Slayer. There was something bigger in his plans. Angelus, of course, didn’t say anything more on his ambitions, so Spike didn’t want to say anything. There was no point in worrying Buffy about something he didn’t have the full details on. It was probably best to deal with one thing at a time. If they managed to put Angel’s soul back in him, they wouldn’t have to worry about evil machinations. Spike continued his musings on the subject, but was interrupted by Willow. The cute little witch was trying to make small talk, probably feeling awkward about the silence since Buffy went to get his stuff. Spike had never felt that silences necessarily needed to be filled, and usually didn’t fill them himself unless he had important something to say. Humans, on the other hand, particularly human women, seemed to hate quiet moments. And it really wasn’t that he was annoyed by her question, he just found it funny. ”Well, I was in Hell for a little while. Then I was in L.A. Not sure which one was better,” Spike joked. Obviously L.A had no pits of eternal torture. Or, rather, maybe it did, but they were easier to get out of. Despite knowing better, Spike still felt a sense of relief when Buffy came back into the room, laden with his things. Spike came up to her as soon as she had closed and locked the door, taking the case and bags from her with a nod of thanks. She smiled at him and thanked him again for coming. That it meant a lot. ”You did say,” Spike reminded her. But she was having emotional turmoil, so it’s not like he could blame her or anything. He set his luggage down and looked into his black duffel, hoping he had clean clothes to change into, ”You can say it as many times as you like.”Spike listened intently to Buffy’s plan. Getting an apartment was a fine idea, but Spike was a little worried as to how long it would take. Well, hopefully Buffy had an in of some sort and could speed up the process. It worried him when she said that she was going back to the boarding house. Even if she visited during the day, who knows if Angelus would show up there or not. Daylight didn’t really seem to affect what time Angel and Spike traveled, only what roads they could use. But Spike knew better than to argue with her and dug around in a small cupboard on the wall that made up 'the kitchen' for a mug to heat some blood in. ”Any office probably won’t open for another three hours or so,” Spike said, finally pulling out a periwinkle colored ceramic mug. He looked at both Buffy and Willow for a moment before bending down to open his silver case of blood, ”You two should probably try to sleep for a bit before you go out.”+++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 711 NOTES: ~
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy nodded at Willow, trying hard not to roll her eyes at her best friend. She loved Willow, she really did, but she needed a bit of space at the moment. She would do anything for her friends and she knew they would do anything for her, but sometimes it just got to be a bit overwhelming. She could still remember the conversation her and Faith had after she had gotten hurt. She meant what she said. She loved her friends, she was grateful for them and she knew there would be several times that she would be dead without them, but there were times that being a slayer made it difficult to be friends with anyone. It was no wonder that most slayers kept to themselves.
Sometimes she wondered if it would be easier had she stayed away from Xander and Willow that first day at Sunnydale High School. She knew it would have been safer for them but then again, would it have really been? How many times had she saved their lives? Would they have made it out of Sunnydale alive? She didn’t know and really didn’t want to think about it, but sometimes unwanted thoughts snuck up on her. Any thoughts were better than thinking about Angelus and what the hell he was doing around her town at the moment. Unfortunately that specific unwanted thought kept creeping up in her mind and no matter how hard she tried it didn’t want to stay away.
Once she walked back in the room she heard Willow’s question and shook her head. “There was no one out there. I looked but it doesn’t seem like he’s found us. Either that or he hasn’t looked…which is what I’m guessing to be honest.” She stated. “He’s not an idiot. He could find us here anytime. I don’t know how long it takes for him to lose his soul but I know we couldn’t have had more than a ten minute head start on him when Kathy and I bolted. Add to that his encounter with Spike and he’s still had plenty of time to find us. I don’t know what he’s doing but if he’s not here…it’s because he isn’t ready to be here yet…not because he hasn’t been able to track us down.” She stated morbidly, but honestly. She was glad that Kathy was asleep…she didn’t want to talk about this stuff in front of her.
She knew that she would have to explain to Kathy everything in the morning. She would have to talk to her about things that she knew Angel wouldn’t want her to know. Unfortunately she didn’t have a choice. She’d rather tell Kathy about it and have her prepared that Angelus sneak up on them and say or do something that would surprise her. At least if she was prepared she was a bit safer…though really none of them were safe with Angelus on the loose. She knew she needed to find him and soon…but if she was honest with herself she wasn’t sure if she could handle it. Could she kill her lover again? The answer was simple, no, and she hated herself for being too weak to do what needed to be done.
Buffy nodded at Spike’s statement about offices not being open for another few hours. “I wish they had more twenty four hour stores here.” She stated, missing the bit city of Rome in which things tended to be open a lot later or earlier than things here in Virginia. “I won’t be able to sleep.” She told the blonde vampire. “I know I need too but I won’t be able to relax enough to do so until I know that he can’t get in. Not saying I don’t trust your spell Will but unfortunately things can and tend to go wrong when it comes to Angelus…I need to stay alert until it’s sunny outside so I know you are all safe.” She stated, looking down at her phone to check the time. Three hours and twelve minutes to go before sunrise. She could wait that long.
Though she knew she really shouldn’t.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was happy that Buffy was back in once piece, which was good it meant that Angel hadn’t found them and Willow spell was really working. Willow couldn’t let him find them with Kathy here is just wouldn’t be good at all, the poor little vamp was all ready sacred of enough as is. Willow really was worried about how the next few days was going to go down with all this, it was like reliving a nightmare all over again for them. It never good when Angelus is around, people get hurt and they die. He is part of the reason that Ms. Calendar isn’t around anymore, so Giles was for sure going to be pretty pissed when Buffy tells him.
Willow was really worried how all this was going to go for Buffy an Angel, it really does a number on them. Angel messes with her head so bad threw all this, leaving notes on the wall in blood, threatening her family, and by beating the crap out of her. And for Angel its really hard because people don’t really know how to act or say for things he has done, even though it really wasn’t him. Which was Sad because Angel really has made up for it all in time, and Buffy and Him were just starting to make there relationship work again. Willow will just have to make sure she gets him cursed soon enough before all the damage is done.
Spike had told them to get some sleep, but he was nuts if he though Buffy was even going to try and sleep. She was too worried about keeping Kathy and everyone else safe. With everything Willow doesn’t even know if she could, nor does she even want too. She to be Buffy back up and make sure nothing happen to her, even though Buffy doesn’t know that yet. It was true though Buffy always worried about everyone before she worried about herself, and Willow loved her for that. Which is why Willow will look out for Buffy till the day she dies, no matter what whether she wants her to or not. “No Buff I don’t blame for not being able to sleep, I mean this Angelus we are talking about. With him I don’t know if I even trust my spells.” Said Willow. Then as Willow was standing there she heard a rumbling coming from her stomach, it was getting pretty close to breakfast time and she hadn’t eaten so maybe Willow should think about getting food. And If they were all going to stay up they needed there energy for sure. But Buffy was right it would be nicer if there were more twenty four hour places around here. “Hey Buffy I got an idea how about I order us some food, how does that sound? But I think spike is fine he seams pretty much covered with what he has.” Said Willow.

With a small nip, Spike bit a small hole into the Ziploc that held the pork blood and emptied it into the mug. These were going to be some interesting stains to explain to the maid staff later. He threw it into the microwave while listening to Buffy. He guessed that he should have expected the Slayer to be too nervous to sleep, but he hoped that she would recognize that going against Angelus under her full strength would not end well. When Willow mentioned food, Spike figured that would be good enough. Hopefully they would have something with loads of caffeine. It was a bit concerning knowing that Willow’s spell might not be entirely Angelus-proof. That being said, Spike really hoped that Angelus was busy doing something else tonight. The blonde vampire looked down at his shirt, ruined since Captain Forehead tried to stake him. He had just missed Spike’s heart on purpose, probably so Spike could find Buffy and tell her what was going on. Angelus liked playing games like that. Spike was also pretty mad that Angelus had to wreck a perfectly nice shirt of his to do that. It’s not like Spike was made of money or anything. The microwave chirped that it was finished and Spike drew out his cup of blood. Spike half-heartedly raised his coffee cup as a confirmation of Willow’s statement that he was good to go blood-wise. And he wasn’t sure about the little vamp’s diet, but he was certainly willing to share his blood supply with her. How much could the tiny thing drink, anyway? Spike took a sip of the warm blood. It was kind of watery tasting, as most animal blood seemed to him, but it was the nice alternative to killing people. The warmth of it seemed to soothe him a bit more and take away the rest of the stings of the bruises on his body. ”So, what should we do to pass the time, then?” Spike knew that things were serious, but they had a chunk of time that they had to use up and Spike would go bleeding bonkers if it was all spent as an emotional forum. If it were up to Spike, he’d probably just go walk about to stir up some trouble, but he didn’t want to bother with the ward. So, the vampire went to his other de-facto setting: sarcasm, ”Infomercials on the telly. Ring up room service. Or we could do each other’s nails,” Spike wiggled his fingers, showing that he wasn’t currently wearing his signature black nail polish. He took another swig of his blood, pretty sure that his humor would fall flat. But what else could he do right now? +++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 453 NOTES: ~

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -As she sat on the couch, her mind raced. She needed to be out there, needed to be out trying to do something, anything to protect those she cared about. But really what could she do at this point? She didn’t want to leave Kathy alone with people she didn’t know until she was at least awake enough to know what was going on, but she didn’t have the heart to wake the young vampire up. She could see the terror in her eyes when they had driven away from the house. She could also see the confusion in them as well, her eyes so much like her brother’s that it almost hurt to look at them.
She knew what she was feeling because she was feeling it too. The desperate need to try and help Angel, who they both loved more than anything in the world, with the overwhelming sense of fear of what Angelus could do to them and those they cared about. She gave herself a mental note to have Kathy call her friend that she had spoken with last night and t tell him not to come anywhere near here until she’d given him the okay. Angel himself already was going to be tough on the kid…but Angelus…god knows what he would do.
No, that’s a lie. She knew exactly what he would do. He would kidnap her friend (she thought his name was Anthony but couldn’t for the life of her remember if she was right) and torture him, somehow forcing Kathy to watch it. No, she wouldn’t let that happen. She remembered how she felt when she had found out that Angelus had kidnapped Giles and she wouldn’t let that little girl go through that. Her eyes widened as she thought about Giles, and Xander, and Dawn. She quickly sent Faith a text message to go check on them and stay with them until she could get there. Dawn had stayed the night at a friend’s house the night before thankfully but she didn’t know what was going on and honestly she wasn’t sure she was ready to tell her, or Xander or Giles for that matter.
She heard Willow’s statement about not blaming her but didn’t say anything, simply nodded. She knew that Willow was an experienced witch but even those with tons of experience could still make mistakes. She knew that better than anyone, and that was the main reason she didn’t want to go to sleep. Her best friend said something about food and the blonde slayer nodded. “Uh yeah, grab me a waffle and bacon or something.” She stated before rolling her eyes. “And a large cup of coffee.” She really wasn’t hungry but she knew she needed to keep her strength up. She was already pushing it with no sleep, didn’t want to pass out from lack of food either. The coffee was simply to keep her awake.
Buffy slapped her head when she saw Spike drinking blood. “Damn. I didn’t even think.” She muttered to herself, having completely forgotten that the young vampire would need blood. She remembered Angel and Kathy sharing some earlier but she wasn’t sure how much she usually drank. She made a mental note to head to a butcher later and grab some, hoping that it would suffice until they were able to get home. A laugh broke out of her mouth without her consent when Spike stated that they could do each other’s nails. “Only if you paint mine pink.” She stated, digging through her purse and showing him the hot pink nail polish that had been in her purse since she had purchased it a few days ago from the local Wal-Mart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow knew she should get them all some food, with all the lack of sleep they needed strength from somewhere. Especially Buffy she needed to eat, Willow all ready knew Buffy wasn’t going to be sleeping until Angelus was gone. So Willow picked up the motel phone and decided to get them all some food, waffles sounded really good right about now to Willow. So She called down to the front desk asking for 2 orders worth of Waffles, bacon, sausage, toast, milk and coffee, she would have asked for blood but she knew they weren’t going to have it. “ok thanks!” Willow said hanging up the phone. “The food should be here in 20 or 30 minutes, I got a lot of food Buffy because you need to eat to gather your strength. We can have you passing out on us right now because you are weak with no food, you all ready aren’t sleeping. I cant wait I‘m starving to death” Willow said to Buffy
Willow then sat over near the Buffy and Spike and started to go threw her purse, she looked and looked till she found it. “Got it!” Willow said pulling it out of her bag. “Look I have a branded new thing of Black nail polish, I just love this color on my nails. Here you go Spike if you need some, like I said it new so it will work well. This is fun we are all having a nail party, Well at lest when we take on Angelus we will look good ” Said Willow with a small giggle. Willow was just doing whatever she could to lighten up the room, because the truth was with all this going on they were all sacred what could happen.
Then there was a knock at the door, suddenly Willow and Buffy stopped in dead silence looking back a fourth at each other. Willow knew that it had to be the room service with the food for them, but still with everything going on it really was hard to know who it really was. Willow stood up getting ready to get the door when she turned to Spike. “Maybe you should get the door Spike, I’m not so sure if I should.” Willow said sitting back down on the couch closer to Buffy then before.
”I can handle that,” Spike was referring to fetching the blood. It’s not that Buffy necessarily couldn’t, but it was just another thing that would burden her. If Spike was going to be stuck on the babysitting dayshift, as he assumed he would be, he might as well take all of the responsibilities that went with it, ”You have other things to take care of,” Perhaps Buffy would disagree with that, but Spike wanted to have at least wanted to make his opinion known. The girls both laughed at his manicure suggestion, taking it a bit more seriously than he had planned. Hell, if that’s what they wanted to do, he’d go for it. ”Mm,” Spike plucked the pink nail polish out of Buffy’s hand and after pretending to scrutinize it for a second, he tossed it back to her with a small grin, ”That’ll strike fear into the heart of the wicked.”The knock on the door was enough to make everything stop though, as if something other than breakfast was waiting on the other side. For all they knew, it could be true. Spike pushed himself from the kitchenette wall as Willow requested he get the door. If it was something else, the vampire knew he would probably be the best obstacle at this point. He just really hoped it was room service and nothing else. And thankfully, that’s what it was, and the man that delivered it pushed it inside doorway, proving him to be human. Everything Willow ordered seemed to be there, in a simple presentation, but it certainly looked edible. If it were any other enemy, Spike would be worried about poison being slipped in, but he knew Angelus would want to see the face of anyone he attempted to kill. “It’ll go on the tab,” Spike informed the bellboy or whatever the man standing outside the door was, and took in the cart. The man, obviously disgruntled at being summoned this early, stared at Spike impatiently. Spike looked back for a moment, and then shut the door in the other man’s face. Americans. When would they learn that Brits don’t tip? ”Breakfast of champions,” Spike announced as he pulled the food-laden cart further into the hotel room and mimicked a gentleman tipping his hat. Breakfast foods had never been on Spike’s list of human food he still ate, but he still poked a bit at the different types of syrup before leaving the cart alone and sitting on the floor across from the couch Willow and Buffy occupied. He snatched up Willow’s black nail polish and cracked it open, inspecting it for a moment before painting a stripe of it on his thumbnail. Although he had his own bottle in his bag, this was newer and nicer to put on. Willow had offered to share, after all. And Spike was a little surprised how quickly properly painting his nails came back. Well, he had been practicing for about forty years now. ”You think Nibbles is going to be awake any time soon?” Spike blew on his freshly painted nail. He figured that Buffy wouldn’t go out until she was sure that the little vamp was okay. He moved on to his next finger, hoping that he would be finished by the time the girls ate all of their meal. +++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 555 NOTES: ~
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy was in her own little world, completely lost to her thoughts, not really paying much attention to what was going on around her. She needed to be out, needed to be doing something, but then she remembered her silent promise to Angel. She had promised to protect Kathy no matter what. So which was the best way to do that? Was it staying here with Kathy to make sure that no harm befell her. Or was it better to be out there, looking for Angelus when Willow hadn’t figured out a spell yet that could restore his soul permanently. Those two questions kept running around her mind and she couldn’t stop them.
She knew that she needed to call Julie in the morning and have her rush the Orb of Thesulah’s they had on back order. They needed one like two days ago. With that being said however what if by the time they got them they hadn’t found a way to make his soul permanent? She knew Angel. She knew that when he came back and if he thought there was even the slightest chance he was a danger to her or Kathy he would leave. He would leave Kathy with her and leave, not wanting to hurt either one of them. Well, put it this way, he would try to leave. She wasn’t going to give him that opportunity. She’d have Willow spell his ass in the house for the week year if she had too, she wasn’t letting him walk away from her again and sure as hell wasn’t letting him walk away from his sister.
She shook her head, not wanting to think about this anymore. She had too many other things to worry about, like finding him, though knowing Angelus it wouldn’t be really that difficult of a job to do. She heard the knock on the door and stood, then stopped when Willow told Spike to get it. She rolled her eyes, yeah her friend might be a badass witch, but she was still a chicken shit half the time. She couldn’t help but let out a very unattractive snort at that thought. It was really a contradiction in itself.
She laughed a bit when Spike opened it and handed them their food. She took a bite of whatever it was she was eating, not even paying attention, before putting it down, the one bite feeling like lead in her stomach. She knew she should eat but she really had no desire to do so…wanting to get out of there, wanting to do something productive.
Spike’s question brought her back out of her musings and she shrugged. “I don’t know.” She stated. “I have to get out of here though. I need you two to make sure she stays calm when she wakes up if I’m not back yet. I have my cell on me so let her call me if she wants. Do not let her leave, and do not let anyone in the door.” She stated, grabbing three stakes. She looked down at her clothing and groaned, knowing she was going to have to stop at a Kohls or something before going anywhere close to a realitors office as she would be laughed at her in pajamas. “I’ll be back.” She stated before walking out the door.
Saying a silent prayer to anyone who would listen that they keep the three people in the hotel room safe.
