- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She couldn’t breathe…she couldn’t think. All she could do was keep moving, keep driving, further and further away from her lover…her lost lover. God what had they done in order to have this happen to them again? They had followed the rules for gods sake! They had done everything that had been asked of them! Angel had saved the world, she had died for gods sake and saved the world from the First. Didn’t they deserve a little bit of happiness?! She knew that Angelus had done horrible things in his life…but what had she ever done? What had ANGEL ever done?! Didn’t they understand by punishing Angel not only were they punishing the soul for something a demon had done…but they were also punishing her…who was supposed to protect the damn world? She could still remember asking Jenny what she had been meant to be paying for. She still didn’t have an answer for it and it seemed to only get worse and worse.
She often wondered if those damn Gypsies knew what they were doing. It was almost as if she had the same curse as Angel did. She could only truly be happy with him so really she had a curse on her that said one moment of true happiness and it will be taken from you. No, she wouldn’t lose her soul…at least not her whole soul. Angel was her soul-mate and when he was gone, half her soul was as well. She could almost feel it pulling at her as she had been driving away, and she could feel it the moment it was gone. She had always been able to feel when he was near, and now she couldn’t feel him anymore, because she knew, he wasn’t around anymore. No, Angelus had taken over…and she wasn’t sure how to get Angel back.
She quickly pulled into the Mystic Falls Hilton Hotel. She knew she should have gone further but really she had no idea where to go. She only had a few hours until Sunrise and she needed to stay close to deal with this. She needed to get up as soon as the realtor opened in the morning in order to get an apartment under her name. That way Kathy would be safe and so would everyone else.
She motioned for Kathy to follow her. “I know little one, I know. We will deal with this I promise. I promise you we will get Angel back, but for now we have to get someplace safe in order to figure out what to do okay? You have to trust me though Kathy.” She told her and waited for the young girl to nod. Once she got the affirmative she grabbed her hand and headed into the lobby quickly, not knowing how long it would take Angelus to follow them. She prayed he wouldn’t have any interest in them tonight but she couldn’t guarantee it.
“I need a room for three nights.” She stated, knowing that she didn’t actually need one for three nights but hopefully that would allow them to call it their own long enough to keep Angelus out if it. She had never been too clear on the hotel thing when it came to keeping a vampire out but she prayed it would work. “My name?” She asked, and winced. God she didn’t want to do what she was about to but it had to be done. She knew she realistically she shouldn’t put it under her name being that it would be that much easier to track them down, but really if she didn’t then it wouldn’t matter anyway in order to keep a vampire out. She wasn’t sure which was more foolproof at the moment so she went ahead and gave her real name.
After being issued their keys she lead the young vampire to the top floor, using the stairs instead of the elevator hoping that would avert some suspcision. Once inside the room she locked and dead bolted the door before opening her phone. She quickly sent Spike a text begging him to meet her at the Mystic Falls Hilton Hotel as soon as possible. She had no idea where he was or if he was even in the country being that they hadn’t seen each other in a while, but if anyone could help her it would him. She then called Willow. She didn’t wait for her to even say hello before she told her to get out of the house as quickly as she could and as safely. To meet her at the place she would text message in order to not be overheard. Buffy begged her to do a spell in order to allow her to get out undiscovered before driving her ass as quickly as possible there before hanging up. As she made her calls she looked at Kathy. “It’s going to be okay sweetheart. I promise.” She told her and didn’t ask for permission before wrapping her arms around the tiny vampire, hoping she could keep her promise.
She couldn’t imagine things ending the way they had before. She wouldn’t survive it, and looking at the small brunette in her arms, she had a feeling she wasn’t the only one.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor stared at the room in shock. The whole night had been a blur, a one big bad blur. It had started out good with her and her older brother joking around and then her and Buffy falling asleep curled up next to Angel. She could tell that it had been a bit awkward for the two to sleep in the same bed but apparently since she was there it was alright, which she was really glad about. Her dreams were of nothing of consequence, just little memories that she had from over the years, including the human memories of her and Liam climbing trees to which she fully planned to do again. Unfortunately her good night came to a quick end. She was thrown off a bed by a pain ridden Angel and then listened as he screamed at Buffy to get her out of there. She wasn’t sure what was going on and tried to go to him but Buffy wouldn’t let her, instead she just screamed for her older brother but the blonde slayer wouldn’t listen, instead putting her in a car and driving off. She could barely remember the drive, only remembering Buffy’s words instead. We can't. He'll kill us. He was losing his soul Kathy. The man who now wears his face, is the man who killed you and tried to kill me. That's not Angel...it's Angelus. She didn’t understand. When her brother had explained very little about the curse he had explained that one moment of true happiness was the only way to break it…and the only way he could have true happiness was to be with Buffy, or so he thought. So what had caused it? She had no idea and really she didn’t think it mattered to be honest. He was gone. She could only remember little things about the drive over to what she assumed was a hotel, but really her eyes hadn’t left the wall since they had walked in. She could remember Buffy telling her it would be okay, though the look on her face made Kathy wonder if she really trusted her words or if they were just for show. I know little one, I know. We will deal with this I promise. I promise you we will get Angel back, but for now we have to get someplace safe in order to figure out what to do okay? You have to trust me though Kathy. She thought she nodded that she trusted her, but really she wasn’t sure. She waited until Buffy put her in a room before allowing the tears to fall, knowing she couldn’t face the man who killed her. She was too weak…to scared…to young. She watched the wall, barely hearing Buffy making phone calls and clicking on her phone, assumingly sending out text messages. She felt her arms wrap around her and barely heard her tell her again that it would be okay. Kathy simply stood there and stared at the wall, not sure what else to do. Her brother was gone, how would they get him back? Word Count- 582 Tag- Willow Rosenberg, Spike, Buffy Summers Outfit- Click here to view Kathy’s outfit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was dead asleep when all the sudden her phone was going off like crazy, she rolled over pulling off the sleeping face mask she had on. She grabbed her cell phone looking to see who is was, it was Buffy and didn’t seem good at all. Willow could tell by the way she asked her to meet up with her something was very wrong. Now she was sacred and worried for Buffy on what was going on, Willow hurried out of bed changing as fast as she could. Willow’s heart was racing a mile a minute with how sacred she was, she wonder what was going on? And why she was meeting Buffy at this hotel? Willow was all ready to go to meet up with Buffy, she got dressed as fast as she could. She walked over to her night stand grabbing her magic book just in case, she didn’t know why but something was telling her to bring it. With how Buffy sounded it didn’t seemed good so it probably will need to be needed. Willow quickly got in her car driving off as fast as she could, at this point she really didn’t really care if she got a ticket it was the last thing on her mind. It seem like no matter how fast Willow drove she couldn’t get there fast enough to Buffy. “Hold on Buffy I’m almost there, just hold on.” Said Willow to herself. Willow made it outside the hotel parking the car as fast as she could, she got out of the car running to the door. When she went threw the door she played it cool so no one would wonder why she was running, but as soon as she was way from the front desk she began to run again. Willow took the stairs to make it there faster, till finally she made to the door. Willow knocked waiting for Buffy to answer the door, when finally Buffy had answered the door. “Hey Buffy what is going on, are you ok?” Willow asked. There was just a dull, painful throbbing in his head. Spike cracked open his eyes. It was still night. That was good. Angelus was nowhere to be seen. That was also good, Spike guessed. In his own brave and stupid fashion, Spike had challenged Angelus and the outcome was pretty obvious. He had been pummeled unconscious and was left next to the grocer’s dumpster. Spike passed his tongue along his teeth, which were all there, thank God. He had nice teeth for a British man, and it would be a shame to lose any one of them. But from the way he felt, not all of his body was as lucky. Spike could feel his lip split in at least two places. The top of his head was slightly slick and sticky from his own blood. He probably had welts and bruises everywhere from the relentless punches Angelus gave. Spike had probably given Angelus a few nasty cuts and bumps as well, but it didn’t matter now. All of Spike’s rage was spent. Then his ears pricked to the sound of his cellphone, giving a little chirp to notify him of a text message. With a wince, he pulled out his phone. It was from Buffy. He felt little bit of relief, but mostly Spike was anxious. She was alive, but was she okay? He read the message and sighed. She had made it to a hotel, and needed him to come to her. It sounded like she was unharmed, but it was clear that she was in distress. Spike had to go. Spike picked himself up and found his keys still in his pockets, and his rental car still parked in the lot. That made things a lot easier. He threw himself inside the Dodge Avenger and sped off. He really wasn’t planning on following too many traffic laws. When he arrived at the hotel, Spike drove around to the back. He probably looked like a complete madman and he didn’t want anybody stopping him from getting to Buffy. He left his car parked askew as soon as he found a service door. With a few tries, Spike successfully picked the door’s lock and slipped inside. He was in a kitchen pantry of some kind, but he soon discovered stairs up and dashed up the stairs as fast as he could. Spike was already feeling a little better from his beating, but mostly it was to make sure everyone was alright. He found the right floor, and after turning a corner, he saw Willow and Buffy. They both looked okay. Stressed beyond their wits, but not harmed. Well, then, there was no time to waste. Spike didn’t break his stride and soon was at the open door. “You aren’t safe here," Spike didn’t bother to say hello. He knew what was going down and the time for pleasantries was over. As proof of his claim, Spike stepped through the threshold uninvited, “Unfortunately, hotel rooms don’t count unless you plan on staying here for a month or so. And I wouldn’t advise that.””Had a run in with your boy, Buffy,” Spike gave her a side-long glance. He knew she didn’t want to hear what he was about to say next, but she had to know. His eyes flitted to the young looking vampire, which as he remembered was Angel’s sister. She didn’t need to know, but since she was a vampire, it might hurt her less. Or maybe not. He rubbed the back of his neck and his voice quieted a bit, ”He’s been killing. A lot. Probably close to ten people already.”Spike leaned against a wall; the energy he had summoned to reach Buffy was draining from him. He had given the “important” information he had. He brushed a bit of dried blood from his forehead, thinking about how he had just wanted to punch Angelus in the face one more time, “Please tell me you have a plan.”+++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 662 NOTES: Checked the invitation thing out at the BTVS Wiki. Evidently hotel rooms don't count, except for Fred, who lived in her hotel room for three months.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She held Kathy until she felt like it was awkward and she could tell the young girl had no interest in being comforted. If she had ever seen a stone person before, it was the young vampire in front of her. She seemed despondent. Buffy could identify with that emotion. She herself wanted to curl up in a ball and cry for days at the injustice of it all, but she couldn’t. She had too many things to do, too many people to protect, and an Angel to bring back from wherever the hell he was. If not for all those things, she would be inconsolable.
The blonde slayer started to pace but didn’t get very far when she heard a knock on the door. She quickly opened it and yanked her best friend inside, slamming the door shut in the process behind her. “God Willow we have a huge problem!” She told her before motioning to Kathy who was still staring at the wall, not at all acknowledging the goings on around her. She knew this was the worst time to make introductions but she knew they needed to be made one way or another. “This is Angel’s sister Kathy, Kathy this is my best friend Willow.” She stated, but didn’t make a move in order to see if the young girl would respond.
Before she could give Willow the nitty gritty details a familiar British voice sounded and she looked over, wincing as he walked in the door. “Damnit. I had that feeling but I never had a chance to try it out.” She stated with a wince. “Thanks for coming.” She stated before her eyes widened as he spoke. “Damnit! We’ve been gone no more than an hour! How many people could he have killed in that short of period of time!?” She asked, and like a freight train she knew her answer. “NO!” She shouted, her stomach feeling as it a five hundred pound demon just sucker punched her in it. Oh god, what had she done.
She had been so focused on getting herself and Kathy out of the house before things had fully taken place that she hadn’t even thought about the six or seven young girls in the house who had no way to defend themselves. Most of them had just started their training. Oh god, what had she done? Not only had she let those poor girls die, but they had slayer blood running through their veins, which would make Angelus even more powerful. “GOD DAMNIT!” She shouted and punched a hole through the wall, wincing at the thought of having to pay to fix that but not really caring at the same time.
“No, Spike I don’t have a plan.” She stated before sinking down on the bed. “Wills, in case you couldn’t figure it out, Angel lost his soul.” She stated with a hollow tone. “And no, it wasn’t because I screwed up and slept with him again. All we were doing was sleeping in a bed together, the three of us. It apparently woke him up as he screamed at me to get Kathy and go.” She stated, tears prickling at her eyes as she relived the terror of what they had gone through. “Where did you run into him?” She asked Spike, hoping he could give her a bit of information. He had to be stopped. She wouldn’t kill him, and Angelus knew that. But she would do her damndest to make sure he didn’t hurt anyone else.
God knows if it would work or not but she had to try. She had to do something to get her soul-mate back…because if not, she wasn’t sure how her or Kathy would survive it.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was in shock. She felt as if she couldn’t movie, which made sense because she felt almost weighted down by the realizations that she had come to know and the fact that even Buffy, the one who seemed to know her brother better than anyone (though she really had no basis on that belief other than hope and from what she had seen over the past few days) didn’t seem to have much faith in the situation. Well, maybe not the situation, but it was clear that she didn’t have faith in the monster that wore her brother’s face…and she was right. She could clearly remember the night that her brother had killed her. That night was ingrained in her head forever. Liam coming into her room, after being missing for a few days. She had thought that he was coming for her, coming to rescue her. Even though he had only been gone for two or three days, things had gotten increasingly bad in the house. Her father, no longer afraid to hit her with Liam not around had been extremely heavy handed with her because all she did was cry over her lost brother. She remembered waking up to his handsome face. ‘My Angel’ she had spoken the words, because that was what she called him, even back then. He hadn’t answered her, only let his face change to that of a demon and pounced on her, draining of her of almost all of her life’s blood. She knew what the monster was capable of, and it sent a paralyzing fear through her to think of seeing his face, his eyes, ever again. She heard voices and briefly noted that Buffy was introducing her to someone but for the life of her she couldn’t bring herself to care who. She felt the air shift and she knew a vampire had walked in. She stiffened, wondering if it was her brother but being frozen in fear she couldn’t find herself to move. A British voice made her calm ever slightly but not really enough to give her any hope. His words were even more troubling, stating that he had killed people. Kathy winced at the thought. “Buffy.” She finally spoke. “What are we going to do?” She asked, and prayed she would have some sort of idea. “I don’t want him to die. Can we bring back my brother?” She asked, her voice sounding more young and vulnerable than she had ever heard it, even when she was a human. She needed answers, she needed someone to have strength where she had none. Word Count- 483 Tag- Willow Rosenberg, Spike, Buffy Summers Outfit- Click here to view Kathy’s outfit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow walked in as Buffy quickly closed the door behind her, as Willow made her way into the room. She could tell Buffy was in shock just the way she said she was happy to see her. “Yeah I could tell something was wrong, which is why I got here as fast as could. So whats up?” Willow asked. Willow then notice a cute little girl standing next to Buffy, It was Angels little sister. she looked in more shock right now then Buffy did. Willow kneeled down more towards to say hi, she just hoped she didn’t scare her even more. “Hi Kathy my name is Willow, its very nice to meet you. Buffy has told me a lot about you. And let me tell you that you are much more cuter in person.” Willow said with a smile. Then Willow heard a familiar voice from behind her, it wasn’t someone she was completely fond of but he did save the world after all. So Willow will always be grateful to him for that, after all he did have a soul now. “Well well look who it is, hey spike how ya been still betting kittens.” Said Willow. Spike then had begin to tell them how many people Angel had killed, Willow knew when she heard that it could only mean one thing. Angelus had returned. “Oh no this is not good.” Willow could only imagine what Buffy was going threw right now, because her worse nightmare had returned. Willow knew that it couldn’t have been Buffy who triggered it, she wouldn’t do something dumb twice. So Willow was dying to know what had happened. Buffy then took the thoughts right out of her head before she could ask. “Yeah Buffy I kind of figured that out I’m really sorry, and no I didn’t think you were dumb enough to do that again. Wow if it wasn’t that then I wonder what could have triggered it. Don’t worry Buffy we will get him back, I will make sure of it.” Said Willow. She then had though about what Spike said about it not being safe there, but Willow had another idea which made her glad she had grabbed her book. “Buffy I could put a spell on this room, that would buy us sometime from him finding us. And when we get back to the house, I can put the uninvited spell on the house to make to were he can come in like I did before. Though he hated to admit it, Spike was nervous. He had come to know firsthand how strong Angelus was right now, and Buffy being fairly emotional right now… well, it could be her strength or her weakness. But more than nervous, Spike felt hollow. He didn’t like seeing Buffy this way, but he also knew there was pretty much nothing he could do right now to change that. So he was stuck feeling this way. Although, Buffy thanked him for coming. That was nice to hear. ”Course," Spike mumbled. Then Willow also greeted him, with a little friendly jab about kitten gambling. He rolled his eyes, but gave a little wry grin before resuming a more serious expression, ”I’m fine. I see you’re back in the magic game. That’s good.” It would be good for what might be coming. Of course, no one liked his news about Angelus’ rampage. Spike could feel the wall tremor as Buffy punched her hand through it. He could sense the tension rise in Willow and the little vampire. He could feel his own anxiety rise when Buffy stated that she didn’t have a plan. She explained that she hadn’t been the one to make Angel lose his soul. Of course everyone here already knew that. How could she think that they thought that? Spike also didn’t want to think about Angel and Buffy sleeping together. Acceptance and liking something were two different things in this case. After all, there were probably plenty of other ways Angel could be forced to lose his soul or have a moment of happiness. Rules were apt to change if the Powers thought they needed to be. Spike turned his head as Buffy started to tear up. If he looked at her like that, he’d probably want to comfort her and that would be horrible timing right now. He’d wait until things were calmer, until he was calm enough to make sure he didn’t do anything stupid. That was the hard part. The want to be near her, but the sense not to be. Buffy asked him where Angelus and he had fought. ”Met him outside the local grocer’s,”Spike sighed, ”But he’s probably long gone by now. He’ll still be in the city, but there’s no telling where. I don’t think he’ll come after you for a bit, though. He’s feeding. Gathering his strength.” And that was the problem. Angelus had more of a plan than they did. But they had more man power, so that was something at least. He merely nodded in agreement as Willow suggested using her spells to buy them time. Then the little sister spoke, naturally worried for her brother. No one wanted to see Angel die. Even Spike, who couldn’t stand the bloke, knew what he meant to others. Buffy primarily, but her friends also. And now there was this child, who made Spike feel a little twinge of sorrow. He wanted to say ‘They’ve done it once before. It’ll be done again, Nibbles.’ But he held his tongue. Nibbles, though. Nibbles was a nice name for her. That he would keep for now. ”When you’re ready, I can track him,” Spike tapped the side of his nose twice. Hopefully they would be ready before the scent got cold, ”Or we can see if he brings the fight to us. But it might be best to get the jump on him before he’s prepared.”TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 571 NOTES: ~

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She turned at the small voice, hearing what she asked. “I won’t kill him sweet one. I promise you that.” She told her, knowing she would be able to keep that promise because she wouldn’t be able to kill him…not again. “I will find a way to bring him back. Willow over there, she was the one who has brought him back before…we will find a way to do it again. I do need you to understand though kiddo that I have to stop him. I may have to chain him up and he’s not gonna like it. But I have to make sure he doesn’t any more people than he already has.” She told her, hoping Kathy would understand.
She watched as Willow approached Kathy and smiled a bit, nodding at her that it was alright and that she could trust the red head. She knew Kathy was beyond speaking at the moment so he smiled sympathetically at Willow, letting her know not to be offended.
“I don’t like this anymore than you do. I hate Angelus but you know I love your brother more than my very life. Trust me when I tell you we’ll get him back, it just may take us a bit.” She told the young vampire, brushing the brunette’s hair away from her eyes. “It’s been a long night for you. Why don’t you try to get some sleep? It’s almost dawn and I know you’ve got to be exhausted.” She told her and motioned to the bedroom. The room they were in was technically a suite. It had a pull out couch and a bedroom with two beds and no windows inside. She knew that would be the safest place for Kathy as someone had to come through the front door to access the bedroom.
Once Kathy was inside she turned her attention back to Spike and Willow. She heard Willow’s statement about not knowing what triggered the change and she sighed. “I have a feeling I know.” She told her. “Kathy was thought to be dead. When he found her again a few days ago I was worried that it would trigger it right then and there, but it didn’t. However tonight…Angel and I got back together and the three of us fell asleep. Right before we fell asleep I heard him mutter something about his family. That’s what Angel has always wanted…a family…a family with me specifically…and he felt like he had it…and that god damned curse ripped it apart…again!” She stated, her hands clenched into tightly bound fists.
“A spell sounds great.” She stated, sighing a breath of relief. “I’m going to get an apartment in my name tomorrow so we have some place to stay until we can get the boarding house safe again. I know I’ve got some damage control to deal with over there and that needs to be dealt with before we can uninvite him from it and get back in there. So as long as the spell can last for 48 hours until I get the apartment we should be fine.” She told them, hoping she was right.
She heard Spike’s words and nodded. “I doubt he’ll come after me until tomorrow at the earliest. He knows that I’m too emotional tonight and I just might do something stupid in his mind like stake his ass. I know that if Angel was here he would be screaming at me to stake him but Angelus knows that I wont do it.” She stated, her head in her hands at this point, hating the fact what should be done was something she couldn’t even conceive actually carrying through on. “We have to find him.” She told him, walking over and standing next to the blonde vampire. “I don’t want to wait for him to bring the fight to us. I need to make sure Kathy is safe and if he comes for us I cant guarantee that. Tomorrow night we need to find him, tonight we need to focus on getting this spell up and running. Will do you have the stuff with you or do you need to get it?” She asked. For a moment she wished she could hug him, because she really needed a hug at that moment from someone other than her best friend, but she knew he would most likely not like her to hug him out of pain for Angel…so she refrained...but just barely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow Knew that she could help Angel again, she wasn’t worried about that at all she had become a pro at this. Because Sadly Willow had done this more then once, try twice. She had to do it the first time he lose it, even though that led to Buffy stabbing him sending him to a hell demotion. The second time Willow had to go to L.A to put his soul back after they had removed it, which was dumb on all there part. But it had to be done to find out what they all needed to know. But as for this time there was not reason for him to be there, actually this was the worst time for him to come. Which with all this going on made Willow wish even more that she had found away to make his soul permanent, she needed to find away soon and fast. Buffy then had told Spike and her what she though could have triggered it, Angel was happy to feel he had a family. Which Willow never even had though of before, and that could have very much had caused it to happen. “Yeah Buffy if that was his true happiness then that very much could have caused it. I’m so Sorry Buffy, but don’t worry I promise you I wont sleep till I help you get him back. Don’t worry I have done it twice now, I can do it again” Said Willow. Buffy then wanted Willow to go ahead and put a spell on the hotel to protect them, which for Willow was no problem. “Ok Buff I can do that, just give me a moment or so to get the spell ready.” said Willow. Willow then opened her magic book and begin to look up the spell, she knew she was going to need her book and man was she right. She begin to look up the spell and get the things out of her bag that she was going to need, lucky for her she carries around a lot magic supplies just in case for things like this. Willow was all ready to go and begin to recite the spell. “Fabula mundi, sanguis incesti, vincula solve, invisa revela. Fabula mundi, sanguis incesti, vincula solve, invisa revela. Fabula mundi, sanguis incesti, vincula solve, invisa revela” Willow was done with the spell as she looked over at Buffy. “There we go Buffy that should buy us some time for a bit.” Said Willow. Hearing Buffy talk about Angel like that… it was a little unsettling to Spike but he understood. If he was in Buffy’s place and Buffy had gone evil through some strange machinations, he would feel exactly the same as she did right now. So Spike kept quiet. But it was a little difficult to remain placid when she was going on and on about the poof. Buffy sent the little vamp to bed, which was probably for the best. Spike felt a little more liberated as to what he could say. Children vampires, though he had met a handful in his lifetime, always left him a little dumbfounded as to how to treat them. They were usually immature but had lived several years times their apparent age. It was a bit disconcerting, in a way. But he realized that Buffy had said something to Kathy that he should have been aware of too. It was almost dawn now. That probably meant he was somewhat stuck here. He pondered if that meant he should try to leave and reconvene with them later, but it didn’t feel right. He wanted to stay. Buffy explained how she thought Angel lost his soul. Spike was okay with the long-lost sister bit, even the family bit. But one part of her explanation stung him pretty hard. They had gotten back together. What did that even mean? Were they planning on reliving their lost years and go out on the town on slaying dates? Ironically, Spike realized it was him that told the two they’d never be ‘just friends’ but… it really felt like Spike was losing something more than he had lost back at the battle of the Hellmouth. He had gotten used to the fact Buffy didn’t love him. But he didn’t expect her to go to Angel quite so quickly again. Spike mentally shook it off. He couldn’t let it show. He shouldn’t have allowed himself to be that surprised, either. As Willow was looking through her things to do the spell, Spike sighed at Buffy’s distress over how she should kill Angelus but couldn’t. He knew that’s what was going through her mind. Hell, she hadn’t even been able to kill Spike when he was an instrument of The First. What made her think that she could do it to the only man she had a true emotional connection with? ”Everyone knows you aren’t going to do it. You aren't going to have a need to do it,” ‘It’ being killing Angel. Spike had said that a little more gruffly than he had planned. He paused before adding, a bit more tenderly, ”If it makes you feel bad, you shouldn’t think on it anymore.”He continued to listen to Buffy. Even though she said she didn’t have a plan, she really did. Not a complex one, but that suited Spike just fine. Plan was regroup tonight, find Angelus tomorrow and stuff his soul back in him, which Willow would do. Spike was sure that he’d be able to track him still. How they were going to subdue him, he didn’t know. But there were many of them and only one Angelus. It was then Spike reached out to Buffy and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. Spike couldn’t help it. He was impulsive, even now. Perhaps he was trying to reclaim a little something that he felt he had lost by her ‘being together’ with Angel. With her standing right next to him, it was a wonder that he didn’t do more. But he just gave her a solemn look for a second before looking away again. Nothing more needed to be said. He didn’t move away, just placed his hands in his duster’s pockets and found a loose cigarette to twirl between his fingers inside the coat. He just hoped that Buffy understood what his intentions were. “Fancy some Nutella?” Spike asked the girls after Willow set the protection spell in place. If they weren’t too worried sick to eat, he thought chocolate could work as a good stress reliever, ”If I’m going to have to wait all through the day, I’d like to bring up my food. I can probably borrow some spoons from the kitchen downstairs. That is, if Red’s spell allows me in and out of here.”+++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 722 NOTES: ~
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy nodded at Willow when she stated that she knew she could do the spell to re-curse him. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was…well…there were a few problems that she could list at the top of her head. The first one was the obvious…they didn’t have the ingredients in order to re-curse him. They needed an Orb of Thesulah and unfortunately the ones that they had ordered through Pathaways and Julie were still on backorder. She had been in to check on them a few days prior and they were still a week or so way…so that wasn’t something that they could do right away.
The other problems were obvious but more hidden. She needed to find a way to make Angel’s soul permanent. She felt like he had suffered enough and really, how was unleashing Angelus making Angel suffer? It wasn’t. Really, if the gypsies had wanted to make Angel, the soul, suffer…they would have made it permanent in the first place in order to make sure he always cared about the guilt that he carried when in reality it really wasn’t his fault. That would have been the perfect punishment. Instead, they gave his soul a loophole and made it to where Angelus was freed…how was that doing anyone any good?
She sighed, she needed to find a way to help. She really had never given any thought to it being that by the time she really started thinking about his curse he was already gone. And she knew it sounded vindictive of her but why would she willingly give him a way to be truly happy without her? Okay, that sounded downright bitchy but she had also had a lot on her mind after he left her. Between Adam, Glory, Willow going crazy, and the First, she hadn’t really ever had the time. Now however, time had run out…and she had a plan.
She just had no idea where to start. Okay, so that was a lie, her best place was to start with the red head next to her. “Wills?” She asked her, biting her lip. “Is there a way that we can do more than just re-cursing him?” She asked, before elaborating. “I want to try and curse him with a permanent soul. I don’t know how obviously, that would totally be something we had to research but this cannot continue. Every time Angel becomes happy he shouldn’t have to deal with Angelus. I want to lock that asshole in a cage forever and not have to worry about him getting out…ever…again!” She stated, her voice becoming louder as she paced around the room.
She felt Spike’s hand brush a hair out of her face and she didn’t know why but she collapsed into him, needing his comfort at that moment. She knew it was selfish, she knew it would hurt him, but when had she ever been selfless when it came to Spike? She had tried to push him away those few years ago in Sunnydale but he said he understood…and while she felt incredibly guilty doing it, it hadn’t stopped her. Would her selfishness know no bounds? She stood, leaning against Spike, taking strength from him as she watched Willow put a spell up to block vampires from coming in.
She stood back, nodding at Spike when he stated that he wanted to go get his stuff from his car. “Uh Wills, can he get back in if he leaves or should I go and get his stuff?” She asked, turning her attention back to her red headed best friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow didn’t really know what to do with all this, because even if she gets Angels soul back she is sacred he might lose it all over again. Its not like it was before were he lost it from Buffy and was taken to get info. This was just from sleeping and being at peace with his sister and girlfriend, so god only knows what else could take his soul. Just the though scares and worries the hell out of Willow wondering what they were going to do. But Willow wasn’t just worry for them, she was also Sacred for Angel. It seemed now the only way for him to be safe was just to sit in empty room all the time, which for Angel wasn’t fair and should have to be that way.
Willow knew that she would have to find another way, she would have too keep searching on how to make Angels soul permanent. Which was what Buffy was asking Willow to do find away, the funny thing is Buffy had no idea that Willow had be searching for months all ready. But so far she hasn’t found a for sure way at all, but she wasn’t going to give up that easy she was going to keep looking. “Don’t worry Buffy, I will look into it and find away and I wont give up till I do.” Said Willow. She wasn’t even going to tell Buffy that she had been all ready looking for awhile, last thing she wanted was for Buffy to worry that it couldn’t be done. Buffy all ready had enough to worry about right now.
Spike had said something about wanting to get his stuff, Willow was happy to know that Spike was going to stay there and help keep them safe. He was a good guy like that always wanting to help Buffy, even though it was because he loved her. Which wasn’t a bad thing, because even though he did he knew were they stood. They were just good friends always working together to keep the world safe and that was it. “Buffy you might want to go and get his stuff, I don’t know if he will be able to get back in. And right now its not safe to drop the spell even for a moment, if you want I can go with you. I really don’t know if its safe for you to go alone Buff.” Willow said in a worried tone hoping Buffy would let her go. Spike remained pretty quiet while they were talking about placing Angel’s soul in him permanently. Even Spike had to agree that a permanent soul would be the best solution. While he couldn’t stand Angel, at least he was just a mopey git. Angelus was, well, like Buffy said, an asshole that needed to be locked up indefinitely. Although his bruises were becoming less apparent and less sore by the minute, the embarrassment of how badly he lost against the Slayer-powered Angelus was still ingrained in Spike’s head. But Spike couldn’t think of a way that they could make Angel’s soul permanent. Even if they could find some way to lift the curse and get him a more permanent soul, Spike was pretty sure that Angelus’ personality would be lurking beneath it. But then again, it would probably be much more difficult to destroy Angel’s twisted personality than to try and bar it with a proper soul. Spike just couldn’t see a way to get him to endure several trials in Africa, so his solution was out. As Spike withdrew his hand from brushing the piece of her hair aside, Buffy leaned into him. The surprise of it almost knocked him off balance, but he remained steady and slowly reached his arm around her in a kind of gentle half-hug before pulling it back. Spike knew why she was doing this. It made him give a heavy sigh, but it seemed rather petty to be angry about it, so Spike let her. If it was the thing that made Buffy feel better for a little bit, she could do it all she wanted. The really painful part would be after Angel was back. Spike probably wouldn’t be able to dislike him outwardly as much as he could right now and Angel would get everything Spike had wanted. But that was later, so who knew? Maybe by then his feelings for Buffy would have quelled to the point that everything was calm. But somehow he wasn’t so sure that would happen. In any case, Spike knew that he would have to be the giving one here, the one with his head on his shoulders. And that actually made him feel a little good about himself. In a pathetic sort of way. When she left his side, it was like a weight was lifted but a void was there. He missed the warmth. But Spike got out the rental car keys and tossed them into Buffy’s hand. ”It’s a black Dodge Avenger parked out behind the kitchen. There’s a silver case and a bag of groceries in the back and a black bag in the front. Keep your eyes peeled for… stuff.” Spike didn’t know what exactly could attack them, but Willow was probably right that Buffy shouldn’t be alone at this point. Really, it was probably a more psychological thing than a physical danger. Spike was pretty sure Willow knew that. Spike hoped that with some recuperation, they would all feel a bit more prepared for the challenges ahead. Buffy seemed to know what she was doing for the next day. And while Spike was guarding the hotel room during the day, he could at least watch the little vampire and… do research, even though that really wasn’t the ideal thing he wanted to do. He really wanted to make sure Angelus didn’t show up anywhere he wasn’t supposed to. Daylight had never really stopped Spike or Angel from wandering around if they really wanted to, but Spike didn’t know the layout of Richmond well enough to venture out in the sun. Spike looked around. There was a medium sized flat screen TV, a microwave for heating blood. He remembered that in his own personal bag he had a half a bottle of Jack Daniel’s that he wouldn’t be telling Buffy about. In general, Spike was pretty sure would be happy enough here. +++ TAGS: Buffy, Katheryn, Willow WORD COUNT: 650 NOTES: I love this thread too :3

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy smiled thankfully at her best friend. She had known before she asked that Willow help her. She knew her best friend better than most (with the exception of Tara obviously) and she knew Willow loved mysteries and loved to help. The mystery of Angel’s damn curse was a hole in one in her opinion being that it was a large mystery if they could figure out how to help him and it also helped a lot of people if she did.
She knew Willow was protective over her. She had known from the day that Willow went off on Angel about a coffee conversation and Giles about how she was a young girl growing up too fast. She smiled at the memory, remembering how Willow had recanted her exact words to her a few years later. Well, why do you think she went to that party? Because you gave her the brush off! And you, you never let her do anything except work and patrol! And I know she's the Chosen One, but you're killing her with the pressure! I mean, she's sixteen going on forty. And you! I mean, you're gonna live forever and you don't even have time for a cup of coffee?
She shook her head, the fond memories coming to a halt as she remembered exactly why they were speaking about this in the first place. It was sad because she had planned on coming to speak with Willow about making Angel’s soul permanent the next day she hadn’t been given the damn opportunity before everything went to hell. She knew realistically she should be out there, right now, attempting to find him. But she couldn’t. She knew it was wrong of her, and felt guilty as hell for it, but she had to get herself into the right mind frame before dealing with him. She knew what he would say to her would hurt her and she hated it…but she knew she couldn’t let him see that it affects him.
Buffy nodded at Willow when she told her she needed to go get Spike’s stuff. “No, I’d rather you and Spike stay in here just in case he somehow gets through. I need Kathy to stay protected. I’ll be able to help Angel deal with a lot of guilt when we bring him back but if he hurt Kathy, he’d stake himself before I even got the chance to stop him.” She stated, a shutter going through her at the thought.
She turned to Spike and he knew immediately what she was asking for. She took his keys and nodded, heading out the door. She kept her eyes peeled for any movement around her. She was jumpy and that wasn’t good. A desk clerk coughed and she jumped a foot in the air, berating herself as soon as she did so.
She quickly went to Spike’s car and collected his things. Walking quickly back into the room and shutting and locking the door behind her. She handed Spike his things, smiling at him softly. “Thanks for coming so quickly. I don’t know if I told you but it means a lot.” She stated before sitting on the couch. “As soon as the realitor’s office is open I’m going to go get an apartment in my name. It’ll also be good for the Watcher’s when they start coming to meet their potentials. However then I’m going to have to go back to the Boarding House.” She stated, wincing at the thought of it. She wasn’t dumb, she knew Angelus would be waiting for her…and she knew she had to go alone.
