- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She paced her room, hating that she still hadn’t spoken with anyone in Rome in days. It was fairly annoying that she ran the damn school and yet she couldn’t get a single person to call her back. She was desperate to get some information on the goings on of Mystic Falls. A part of her wanted to tell Willow, Dawn, and Andrew that she was going back to Rome and sending someone else in her place. With Angel around, and now all kinds of other craziness going on, she wasn’t sure she could continue on the way she was going. However there was still something inside of her telling her that this is where she needed to be. She hated that she was having to leave her sanctuary, especially with everything that had just happened, but it was time…she needed to take a step up and be the person she truly was…the slayer. So here she was, standing in her room in Mystic Falls, waiting for someone to answer the phone over at the school she ran.
It was times like these that she wished Faith had come to Virginia with her. She knew it was tough for them both, as they both were so headstrong that they got on each other’s nerves. However, no matter what happened, they were sisters in every sense of the word. They were the only two who knew what it was like to be alone in the world as a slayer. Sure there were others now, but that was just the point. Faith had thought she would be the slayer once she was called…and Buffy had been the slayer the entire time she had been called. The new slayers had no idea what it was like, to fight the fight that they had, alone.
She sighed when she got a no answer at the slayer school and instead dialed another number, dialing the familiar number of her sister slayer. She didn’t know why, but she had a feeling that it was time they talked again. They weren’t on bad terms or anything, far from it, they just didn’t talk a lot anymore…not that they ever really talked that much to begin with. As she listened to the phone ringing on the other side of the world (she didn’t know exactly where her sister slayer was, but she did know she was in Europe somewhere), she waited, and prayed that their conversation would go smoothly.
She wanted Faith to come and help her with this. She hated asking for help, despised it actually, but things were getting insane. They had originally come here, to this small town, to pick up potential. So far, four had been found by the coven, though they hadn’t approached any of them yet. However there was also vampires, vampire hunters in the form of humans, and demons running around. It was like another Sunnydale, without the hell mouth. She could take care of it herself, but she didn’t want too. She needed to learn how to share the responsibility of being the slayer, and what better way to start was to call her sister slayer and ask for her help.
She prayed that the other slayer would answer, because for once, she couldn’t talk to Willow, Giles, Angel, any of them. She just really needed to speak with her sister. And no, she didn’t mean her biological sister.

I always planned on them running into each other while on the phone, like in the cemetery or something along those lines…but it’s whatever.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith was just walking around town, 'patrolling' she called it but she hadn't seen a vamp in days! Well a vamp that wasn't 'good' at least...but that was besides the point. She had just been itching for a good tussle and that sweet release of wood slamming into one of them...and then poof. Even in Faith's head that sounded dirty...weird huh?
With her jacket on and 'wicked' new kicks ever so wonderfully placed on her feet...gotta love new boots....she let her mind wander a little. This place she was in...its so cramped. I mean yeesh Sunnydale was cooler than this dump of a town...at least this place had a bar going for it. The sound of her brick sounded...yes brick is the realistic term. She didn't have a new fancy phone, she had an older brick like phone...it may not be fancy but it could very well double as a weapon! Besides the thing took impact and dropping well unlike those fancy new iPhones and crap like that she dropped on the floor and shattered.
~Don't want your hand this time, I'll save myself...maybe I'll wake up for once~ Evanescence
The slayer grabbed her phone, clicking the talk button while the song played. There was nothing wrong with that song...she liked the band...not as much as Freak Wharf, her all time favorite band of ALL TIME but whatever. The fancy little device...well not really but...the cellphone had shown B. on the id with the cell number below it.
"Hey B, what's crackin?" she said to the phone as it was raised in her right hand to her ear. The slayer didn't get many calls from the...well other slayer and she was so bored with lack of vampire activity she would take anything right now. The slayer did the magical walk and talk.
She was curious as to why Buffy was calling her and not the Scoobies...it was no real stretch of the imagination that they weren't best friends forever because of their past. Of course most of it they had gotten past...they were both different people back then...well mostly she was with her craziness and murderous ways. In fact if it wasn't for Buffy's friends and her then boyfriend Riley when she'd switched bodies with Buffy and then through almost all of it Angel she probably wouldn't be standing here like she was today.
She would have been broken, shattered...Alice fell through the Rabbit Hole and came back...through the looking glass she tried to shatter but didn't. The slayer waited for Buffy to answer, she was the one who called after all. It was probably Slayer business...at least she assumed because they didn't tend to talk much about personal stuff. -----------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She sighed in relief when she heard her sister slayer’s voice. She wasn’t sure why she needed to speak with her so badly, but she did. For one thing she needed to know what was happening at the school. Every time she called she found out that Giles was busy, Xander was busy, or no one answered. It was irritating that she was on the other side of the world and couldn’t get a hold of anyone to figure out if everything was okay at the school that she helped run. She hated to sound whiny but she was starting to get worried when she still couldn’t get a hold of anyone.
“Hey Faith…are you in Rome?” She asked, hoping that she was. Even though the other slayer and her didn’t talk as much as she knew they should, she still felt a kinship with her even after everything that happened. Almost at lightning speed memories of the past sped over the recesses of her mind. The first time they met. Thanks B, couldn’t have done it without you.. The night that Faith had accidentally killed the deputy mayor…and the consequences of it. Faith No! You don’t get it! Okay! You killed a man! No, you don’t get it. I don’t care!. When Faith tried to turn Angel evil. I never knew you had so much rage in you. What can I say? I'm the world's best actor. Second best. Graduation Day. You think we missed anything? I think we know everything she knows. May I say something? Psych! You played me! You played me! The night she stabbed Faith, effectively putting her in a coma. Man I'm going to miss this. You did it. You killed me. Still won't help your boy, though. Shoulda been there, B, quite a ride. The night she found out she had woken up. Faith…she’s awake..
Thoughts raced around in her mind, thinking of all of them and trying to avoid thinking of them at the same time. Her fondest memory of her slayer sister was actually at the end of the fight with the First. It was the first time she remembered seeing her sister completely at ease with not only herself, but with the entire group as a whole. She had always felt like she was trying to compete with Buffy for the role of the slayer…but at that moment…the blonde slayer knew that the brunette realized that there was enough to go around.
Looks like the hellmouth is officially closed for business. There is another one in Cleveland. Not to spoil the moment. We saved the world. We changed the world. I can feel them, BUffy. All over. Slayers are awakening everywhere. We'll have to find them. We Will. Yes, because the mall was actually in Sunnydale, so there's no hope of going there tomorrow. We destroyed the mall? I fought on the wrong side. All those shops gone. The Gap, Starbucks, Toys "R" Us. Who will remember all those landmarks unless we tell the world about them? We have a lot of work ahead of us. Can I push him in? You've got my vote. I just want to sleep, yo, for like a week. I guess we all could, if we wanted to. Yes. The First is scrunched, so...what do you think we should do, Buffy? Yeah, you're not the one and only chosen anymore. Just gotta live like a person. How's that feel?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith awaited a response from her sister slayer. Come to think of it they had been through a lot together...there was the time she had tried to kill her...okay the times she had tried to kill her...and the times she had almost been killed by Buffy. There was the dream walk they shared while she was in a coma...signalling the arrival of Dawn Summers as the Key. When she had tried to assassinate Angel in L.A. and failed...then was attack by Buffy...but saved by Angel. There was even the time they had switched bodies and she had fought Buffy in her body...taking out all her self hatred on her own body.
The other slayer listened as Buffy asked if she was in Rome? Well...she had been in Rome but...well she got kind of bored so she had traveled throughout Europe to find other potentials to go back to Rome...one thing led to another and she landed here in this dump of a town in some motel that had seen better days.
"Not exactly B...I'm in some boring town in no where land...why...something wrong?" she asked, a little bit of a worried tone in her voice...but at the same time there was this little hint of excitement...like she hoped there was some vamp or demon she could just slay to take out some of her frustrations...especially because this town had piss poor vampires and not many of them.
She walked through the graveyard as she spoke, keeping her senses peeled for vampire activity. It was safe to assume not much was going to happen though...the last vamp she had seen ran after she punched him in the nose...what a wuss! I mean jeez learn to take a punch. It was a little annoying...she wasn't like normal people...something Buffy could probably understand...when hunting a vampire its like the world went away...and you are focused solely on the kill...all that pent up energy is released as it turns to dust. -----------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She knew they hadn’t talked in awhile but she ignored it for now. She knew that they had issues when it came to communication between the two of them but now wasn’t the time to deal with their problems. She had more pressing issues to handle including finding out what the hell was going on at her school. She really didn’t want to abandon Mystic Falls for a few days to jump on a plane and head all the way back to Rome. It was time consuming, expensive, and she just really didn’t want to head all the way back there to find out that nothing was wrong and everyone was just busy and that was the reason she wasn’t getting a phone call back.
So here,s the laugh riot. My whole life I've been a loner. Okay. The Point. Me, by myself all the time. And I'm looking at you, everything you have, and I don't know, jealous. Then here I am. Everybody's looking to me, trusting me to lead them, and I've never felt so alone in my entire life. Yeah. And that's you, every day, isn't it? I love my friends. I'm very grateful for them. But that's the price. Being a slayer. There's only supposed to be one. Maybe that's why you and I can never get along? We're not supposed to exist together. Also, you went evil and were killing people. Good point. Also a factor. But you're right. I mean, I...I guess everyone's alone. But being a slayer? There's a burden we can't share. And no one else can feel it. Thank god we're hot chicks with superpowers. Takes the edge off. Comforting.
She remembered that conversation well. The conversation that they had while Faith was laying in her room at her house in Sunnydale. The conversation that really brought out what she had felt for years but had never expressed. She loved her friends, she truly did. She wouldn’t know what to do without them and she knew she wouldn’t be alive…wouldn’t have survived past the age of 16 if she didn’t have them. However being the one who was always in charge, always the one to save the day, it got tiring and old and lonely all the time.
She had the feeling that was one of the things that drew her to Angel in the first place. She remembered when he had saved her the first time. When Darla was after her, trying to shoot her and kill her. He came up behind the woman who had made him into a vampire and staked her with an error. That’s when she knew. When she knew that she could rely on him…rely on someone else to take the fall for just a moment. She remembered how many times he had lent her his strength, when she needed someone to talk to, someone to yell at, someone to cry too, or someone to spar with in order to let out her aggression.
It was also one of the reasons that Riley and her didn’t work. Riley was a hunter, but he had no super powers. He wanted to pretend like he was stronger, bigger, better, than he really was. When in reality, it was her who had to constantly save him. He knew how to handle himself, but she would always be the one to save the day. It was lonely…tiring…and it was one of the reasons that she was still bitter about being brought back.
She sighed and shook her head, bringing herself out of her thoughts. “Okay, so you’re not in Rome. Where the hell are you? We’ve got a whole crap load of issues in Mystic Falls which is where I am along with Willow and Dawn. Andrew was here but he got called back for something in Rome and Angel’s sort of going between here and LA with the stuff that happened there. So Willow, Dawn and I could use some help if you’re interested. We’re here for potentials as there are apparently more than one here but there’s also vampires, humans hunting vampires, werewolves and demons from what I’m understanding. Interested in coming and helping a sister out?” She asked, and hoped she would say yes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith looked up at the lights on the street, looking for a sign as Buffy asked where she was...for help. Buffy was asking for help...it was the least she could do. Faith remembered what Buffy had shown her...indirectly of course. Dammit...it was not something she really wanted to remember.
Buffy had escaped from the Watchers’ Council in Faith's body and challenged Faith in the church. The ensuing fight occured... and Faith (in Buffy’s body) repeatedly punches her own face in a fit of self-loathing all while shouting, 'You’re nothing! Disgusting, murderous bitch! You're nothing! You're disgusting!' She was finally seeing herself as Buffy saw her and is even harder on herself than Buffy ever was...the self hatred that nearly destroyed her when she tried to get Angel to kill her in Los Angeles. But that was done now...she was better...sort of...because of the love she had learned existed from Buffy's friends and family...and her then boyfriend Riley.
Faith then heard the magic words...lots of vampires, werewolves and other nasties in town. "Sweet, sounds like a party B," she started, smirking a little to herself,"I'm in some weird town called Mid whatever...or something in Virginia." What luck? I mean they were so close and they didn't even know it...it was kind of weird. Of course...Faith couldn't even remember the name of the town she was in all that well.
The Slayer's ears perked up, catching a hint of something. She quickly turned around...just a deer...stupid deer. I mean deer meat was good and all but why was there deer out here...it was kind of annoying. She let out a small annoyed sigh that it wasn't something fun like a vampire. She turned her attention back to the phone,"Just give me some place to be and I'll find a way there," she said to her fellow slayer. -----------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She slapped her forehead when she heard that Faith was in Mystic Falls. She now had a new appreciation for the word irony. Seriously?! Out of all the towns that she could be in she was here…in Mystic Falls? Really? Granted, she wasn’t at all unhappy about these turns of events as it made things a whole lot easier…but on the whole large scale of things it was still pretty damn ironic. She shook her head, rolling her eyes at how ridiculous the situation was. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t that ironic or ridiculous, but in her exhausted state it seemed like it at the moment.
“I don’t need to give you a place to be.” She stated with a laugh, her mind going over and over the places that she could meet her sister slayer before taking her back to the Boarding House. She figured a cemetery would be the best place but wasn’t sure if tonight was the best night for it. She needed to warn Dawn and Willow before actually allowing Faith to stay at the house. Sure they had all dealt with her and become okay with her again during the whole First fiasco thing the last several weeks in Sunnydale, but it was different now.
They were all different.
She thought about meeting for coffee the next day and tried to think if she knew of a good coffee place. When she remembered the one right next to the bookstore that they had found Tara in she grinned to herself. They did make a good mocha. Her thoughts traveled quickly to how many people she knew that they had found randomly in this town and had a feeling it was no coincidence.
Something was leading them here…and she was determined to figure out what.
“I’m actually in Mystic Falls as well.” She stated, her hand gripping the stake as she saw someone walking ahead of her. She whispered to her sister slayer to hold on a second before going up to the person in front of her and tapping her on the shoulder. Her eyes widened when she got a look at the face. “Woah.” She stated with a laugh.
What were the odds.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith smiled, dumbstruck as she was actually where she apparently needed to be. "Wicked...who'd have thunk it," she said as Buffy told her she was in Mystic Falls as well. The brunette girl let her body move towards a headstone, setting her butt upon the cold stone that was probably some poor sap that died in some kind of normal way...or maybe not...you never know when a Slayer is around after all...vamps seem to run towards them eagerly!
It was kind of strange...a strange twist of Fate that the last two 'true' slayers would end up in the same town exactly when they were needed. It was kind of funny in a cosmic screw you over as you take it up the butt by destiny way. That's how the Slayer life worked...none of the other Slayers got it aside from Buffy. They knew they weren't alone, the only one in the world...they didn't have that luxury at first...they had to bare so much alone for long enough.
Of course then there was their history together...most of it highly unpleasant and psychotic. Though no a days they got a long much better...since neither of them were trying to kill the other and Faith wasn't so self destructive because of Angel and Buffy/Company. Faith heard someone coming towards her, itching for a fight as someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around...every instinct asking to be able to hit something. Of course she managed to control herself, seeing a blonde girl about her age speak.
"Damn B, did you do something new? Cut your hair...dye it...got a little work done in your old age?" she said a little friendly joking to get through this. But it was a little bit true, both of them were quite old...at least for a Slayer. She quickly turned her body around to face her fellow Slayer and leaned onto the headstone as she began to speak... of course she shut off her phone by clicking the red button to end the call since it seemed...well not necessary at this point with Buffy right in front of her.
It was about time they talked for more than the end of the world. Of course Buffy was asking for help...so something must be wrong. "So whats up B? Another Big Bad Coming, whats that make this...the 8th apocalypse...?" she said jokingly...though it wasn't about the realm of possibilities with their lives. She waited for Buffy to respond for saying anything more. -----------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It was simply her luck that her sister slayer was standing right in front of her. She could clearly remember another time this had happened though it hadn’t been the pleasant surprise that it was now. She had gotten a phone call the day before stating that Faith had woken up from the eight month coma that she herself had placed her in in order to try and save her former lover.
Hello? Yes. It’s for you. Hello? Speaking. What’s the emergency. I’ll let you know. What is it? Beat someone up, took her clothes and disappeared out of the hospital. No one knows where she is.
She knew it was going to be a battle when she found her sister slayer again but she hadn’t at all expected her to show up standing in front of the school announcements board like she hadn’t a care in the world.
She knew it wasn’t going to be pretty but at the same time she had still had that deep rooted hope that maybe she would have felt guilty about the things that she had done before being placed in the coma. Obviously that hadn’t been the case but what could she say, the blonde slayer until that time had still been a bit of an optimist.
Pressure's definitely high. If I were here, I'd get out of Dodge post-hasty. You're not me. So. Check you out, B. Nice. The 'big girl on campus' thing's really working for you. I've been looking for you. I've been standing still for eight months, B. How hard you look? Are you alright? Five by five. That's the thing about a coma, you come out all rested and rejuvenated...And ready for pay back. So much for the pleasantries, huh? What'd you think? I'd wake up and we'd go for tea. You tried to gut me, blondie. You would have done the same to me if you'd had the chance. So let's give it another go. See who lands on top. Actually I think it has to be exactly like this. Not here, not now. There are innocent people. No such animal.
It was clear to her in that moment that her sister slayer was still the same manipulative one she had been when she had been placed in the coma. However now was a clearly different story. She was a different person, still Faith but a better one because she fought on the right side instead of the easy one.
She laughed a bit when Faith asked about if she’d had work done. “Nah, just good genes I guess.” She stated with a joking smile. “What about you? Been resting or have you been working your ass off like all us old folk are doing?”
She sighed when Faith asked what number apocalypse this was. “I think it’s definitely more than that…at least it feels like it to me. However there are several potentials here that I still have to find and then the locals know way too much. I was shot at by a cop the other night who was toting around a gun with wooden bullets. There is way too much going on in this town and it seems way too many people know about it. Interested in lending a sister a helping hand?” She asked with a hopeful smile.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith got up from her spot on the grave as they joked a little bit while they talked. It had been a while since they'd done that...I mean before when they were together it was all doom and gloom with the First looming over them trying to kill off the Slayer line...all the potentials first...then herself...then Buffy. That was how it worked, go after all the would bes and then kill the second in command...then the leader.
After all isn't that how war went? Kill Faith, the second strongest slayer to get Buffy all alone...and then without friends Buffy would be toast. Of course that was all speculation for the Brainiacs like Willow and Giles. Faith preferred the let them come...no...more like let yee come to them and kicketh the ass.
"Just seeing the world, every girl's dream right B?" she said with a small laugh. Well it was partially true, she had been travelling to search for potentials...slay demons...and because it was something she always found herself doing...always on the move. "Though I have been working out a little...in fact there was someone at the gas station in town I wouldn't mind working out with," she said...that whole thing sounding exactly like she was implying...yup...still as crude as ever.
The second Slayer laughed a little as Buffy talked about how many they had been through. "It's really starting to lose the impact now ain't it?" she said with a small chuckle...it really was though after the amount that each had been through...it was just ridiculous. The second slayer also winced a little when she said 'shot at by a cop'...the two things she didn't really like...being shot at and cops.
"You'd think we'd get used to being shot at...but wooden bullet is just weird B...even for us," she said. I mean silver bullets made sense...and bullet bullets as well. Maybe this was why the town wasn't as vamp central as Sunnydale was...which was weird. I mean the shot at part was a given why...there was the time they were shot at by that fake cop. Then there was the time Buffy was shot by Warren...though Faith was in prison during that time...and there was plenty of times Faith herself had been shot at while on the run from the cops. It came with the fugitive status. "As long as I get to hit stuff, I'm in B," she said with a grin...she was always the Slayer who preferred to be on the front lines. -----------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She looked around the cemetery, her eyes focusing on the moon that was reflecting off of the granite and stone headstones all around her. It was strange at how at peace she tended to be in a cemetery when she should have been ill at ease in them with all that she had seen. For some reason though, she felt at peace walking through the various sizes and shapes of the various types of headstones. Again, there was no rhythm or reason for her peace while in a cemetery, other than she knew who she was while there. She knew who she was, what her duty was, when she was walking through the silent grave yard.
It was during the day light hours that she was confused. At night, she was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the one girl (well, it used to be just the one girl, now there were many) in all the world to hunt and kill the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She knew the score at night. She knew that it was kill or be killed and she was very good at the avoiding getting killed part, though in all actuality she had been killed a few times as well. During the day she had to play so many roles, none of which she felt suited her. She had to play the older sibling, the best friend, the counselor, everything that she wasn’t prepared for. It was at night, in the cemetery, that she knew what her job was. She knew how to do her job, she was confident in her abilities at night; she knew how to do what she needed to do to be who she needed to be.
It was during the day that she was afraid. It was during the day that she was lost.
She turned her attention back to her sister slayer and laughed at her comment about seeing the world. “Eh, my dream is to have a night off…but then again…I’d probably get too bored.” She stated with a laugh.
She smirked at Faith’s comment about some guy. “There’s always some guy you want to get with little sister…what is new about this one?” She asked, her eyebrow quirked up in a questioning fashion. It was true though, Faith was someone who was very comfortable with her body and liked to use it for anything physical…and she did mean anything.
“It really is starting to lose its luster. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the bigger apocalypses still tend to be the ones that get a bit crazy, but the smaller ones I sometimes feel as if they are losing their luster.” She stated with another laugh.
Her laughter stopped when Faith commented on the wooden bullets. “I know. It was creepy. And I have good reflexes, as do you, so I’m not really concerned about us. But Dawn goes out, so does Willow, I don’t want either one of them getting hit.” She stated with a shudder. She almost made the comment about Angel, until it hit her again. Angel was dead…she hadn’t let it sink in yet.
She wasn’t sure if she ever would.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith grinned at that,"Well look at you B, finally coming to the fun side." She was kind of teasing...kind of not. I mean Faith was awfully bored when she did have a so called 'night off' and it frustrated her to no end. Perhaps a little bit of Faith was rubbing off on Buffy...not like before when that rubbing off resulted in murder, theft, attacking police officers, evading arrest and all that nonsense. Those were fun times though...horrible for her fragile psyche but she did have fun...in a really messed up and warped way though.
The second Slayer gave a little laugh huff type noise when Buffy brought this up. Faith was known for being...well promiscuous... I mean just with the people Buffy knew there was Riley (in Buffy's body though but...it still counts), Xander, Principle Wood and so many others she had tried...even tried to bed Angel which didn't work out very well for either of them.
"I want to try something new, he's kinda nerdy and is an author...but he was drinking in the store while we were talking so that usually spells easy," she said making a little motion with her body that said...well pretty much screamed sex. The girl was crude...always had been...always would be. It was a flaw...well not really but some of the people around her would think so. "So you been getting anything B? Gotta tell ya just walking around this town there are some fine choices for you," she said. It was true...the little walk she had in town had quite a few good looking guys.
"Yeah, I know what you mean," she started, "I mean don't you just kinda feel like the maid sometimes...like I just cleaned up this apocalypse can you keep it clean for 10 minutes." She was joking of course...but at times I'm sure it felt like this...I mean its just annoying sometimes how many apocalypses they go through.
"Isn't Willow still like super uber magick chick? I think she can handle her self...and maybe buy little Dawnie a bullet proof vest," she suggested...though she had to agree it was pretty weird. "Or if your pinched for cash we could always revisit the good old days...preferably before you stabbed me into a coma," she said, jokingly suggesting they could just steal it...want...see...take. It was that mentality that had set her through much of her life...something she had slowly been weening herself off of because of how destructive it had been to her. "So what do you think is up with this town? I mean if even the cops got some know something bigs gotta be here right?"

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She smirked at Faith’s comment about the nerdy author. That was definitely a different taste for her. Then again, she hadn’t really ever seen Faith settle on one particular type before if she was going to be honest. Looking at just the people she knew about that Faith had slept with…and they were all different. First there was Xander, who was a great guy…but he wasn’t mr. buff back when she had slept with him and he did have sort of the dorky vibe going. At first Buffy had thought maybe that was simply her type…but then she tried to get into Angel’s pants.
The blonde slayer would admit to anyone who asked that the Angel attempt still grated on her nerves, though she’d forgiven her sister slayer a long time ago…it was and would never be forgotten.
Angel was a buff guy who was gorgeous so it didn’t surprise the blonde that the brunette slayer would go after him because in all honesty, what girl didn’t tend to check him out? She had gotten used to that when they had first gotten together. She would admit that her jealousy had peaked during their relationship and she had never felt that type of jealousy again, but she digressed.
It was unusual then to think of Xander and Angel as both being Faith’s types seeing as neither one were really alike the other. Then there was Riley…in her body. Again, that one stung, but more against Riley than against Faith. Faith was evil at the time…or still trying to be that was…so it didn’t surprise her that she would go and do that. However the fact that Riley hadn’t realized it wasn’t her inside…it hurt her deeply. It was just another way that she had known; even then, that Riley wasn’t the one for her.
Angel would have known in a heartbeat.
Then she had found out about Robin Wood…and the blonde had officially stopped attempting to pin down Faith’s specific type. She knew it was mean of her to say but she had a feeling that Faith would sleep with anyone she wanted whether they were her type or not. It was just the way that she was and in all honesty, they only lived once, and she knew neither of them would live to a ripe old age, so why not enjoy their lives while they could. It wasn’t her scene, but whatever made the other woman happy she was fine with.
She shook her head out of her thoughts when Faith asked if she had been getting around. She shook her head and laughed a bit. “You know me, more of a loner than I am the relationship girl.” She stated before sobering up and shaking her head. “No actually. Once I heard the news I realized I probably wouldn’t ever date again.” She stated with a frown before looking away, not wanting to get into it. She didn’t know if Faith knew about Angel’s death…but she had a feeling she didn’t. She knew that Faith was aware of how much she loved Angel and if she had been informed, she knew, or at least hoped, that Faith herself would have come to her and told her instead of letting her hear it from someone she didn’t know.
She laughed at Faith’s comment about buying Dawn a bullet proof vest and Willow being super witch. “A bullet proof bubble might be better actually…that girl seems to be in trouble once a week.” She stated before shaking her head. “And Willow’s a great witch yes, but they don’t have the hearing and the reflexes that we do. Neither can hear a bullet coming at them like we can, they can’t sense something is behind them…that’s not who they are. If someone comes directly at them, I have no doubt they’ll be okay. But if someone sneaks up on them…I don’t want to think about the ramifications.” She stated with a dark look…not wanting to think of losing either her sister or her best friend.
She rolled her eyes at Faith’s comment about stealing stuff. “Nah, Giles pays me well for working at the school. Thank god all the funds from the Watcher’s Council got transferred into his name and we can afford to live like normal human beings. Also me working as a counselor here doesn’t hurt either. I try not to touch the Watcher Council money that Giles pays me unless I need too, it’s easier to save it for a rainy day and just live on the money I make at the school.” She stated before switching subjects. Money had never been a comfortable topic for her and she knew it would most likely always be that way.
“I honestly don’t know what’s up with the cops here. My brain keeps going between something huge here and they are lying in wait…or the vampire population has just simply made the cops more knowledgeable and they are doing whatever they can to keep their town safe. Personally I’m hoping for the latter but the former seems to be the most possible unfortunately.” She stated with a frown. “I hate to think of something this big getting even the normal humans involved, but unfortunately in our line of work you know as well as I do that evil will stop at nothing to get its agenda taken care of. Whatever evil wants, it usually gets. Just because we destroyed the first…or at least destroyed what we could of it by blowing up Sunnydale, doesn’t mean that evil’s gone…it just took a large hit that day.” She stated before looking away. This was one of those times that she missed Giles the most. She wished he was there to help her figure out what she was going to end up fighting at the end of it all. She had no doubts that it would be her, Faith, Dawn, and whoever else was there at the end. It wouldn’t be the new slayers…it would be her.
She’d do whatever she could to keep anyone out of a large battle if she could help it. This was still her fight and she would continue to do it until she drew her very last breath.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Faith shook her head, a roll of her eyes as Buffy said something about not being the relationship person. "Not talking about marrying someone B, just a little roll in the hay...unwind a little...lord knows you could probably use it," she said...maybe coming off a little harsher than she intended about Buffy's....dry spell if you will. Of course she was no Faith but come on B!
The second Slayer rose a brow when she said something about news. "News...I'm guessing it ain't good news if it made your happy place go cold and all...so what's wrong B?" she said...trying to be sympathetic as she could be...concerned as she could be, but this was Faith and Buffy knew that she was never very good at this kind of touchy feely crap. At least she was trying, that is what counts right?
"Giving advice to little horndogs about drinking is bad and no sex eh B? I can totally picture that," she said with a laugh. She remembered high school well...skipping classes, dropping out from constant fighting, her gay best friend that ditched town with his boyfriend when they both dropped out, her mother prostituting herself for money and the like...of course her high school life before coming to Sunnydale was so much different than Buffy's was.
"Brats got big sis looking out for her, what's to worry about?" she said with a small laugh. She knew how much Buffy cared for her sister and how she had literally died to protect her at least once. "Besides she's got that iron will you Summers seem to have... she's gonna be okay." She was trying...really trying to be all nice and touchy feely...even though some of what she said would get someone else killed if they spilled it to anyone else. "Tell her I said that though and I'll kill ya," she said with a small laugh and a joking wink...just a small one because she had in fact tried to kill Buffy on a number of occasions.
"Ain't it always the worst option for us? Slayers got to be the unluckiest people in the world right B?" she said, trying to lighten the situation up at least a little bit. The brunette slayer slipped her body back against the stone she was pressed against...stretching a little bit...as always she was still vigilant as no doubt Buffy was even as they spoke...it came with the Slayer life after all.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde shook her head, memories rushing back to her as if she was hit by a freight train when she realized that her sister slayer had no idea about the goings on in LA. She obviously had no idea that Angel was no longer living…though she still saw no proof of it…she figured his friends would know and since they had contacted Giles who had contacted her, she figured it would safe to say that he was no longer actively…alive…or whatever it was that you would have called him.
The phone rang, and she looked around. She was confused for a moment, before she rolled her eyes internally. It was ridiculous that the phone ranging sent fear and confusion through her. Confusion because she talked to no one anymore. Hell she wasn’t sure who all knew she was dead and who all knew she was alive. She hadn’t sat down with Willow and Xander and talked to them about the Buffy bot, which was officially gone now…, her father…her sister…how everyone coped. She hadn’t made the attempt to do so and they hadn’t tried to bring her up to speed yet. She knew that things were tough on those that she loved…but she couldn’t feel bad for them. She had died, she had been ready to die…Death is your gift…that’s what she had been told.
That’s what she had wanted to believe, and yet her friends couldn’t handle it. She tried not to show her annoyance and overall resentment, but it was becoming harder with each passing day. She had told Spike, something that had been liberating as he had come to her with the news that neither he nor Dawn had known about their attempts to bring her back. The news was gratifying as she didn’t need to resent either one of them…though she knew both were happy to have her back.
The phone rang again and she snapped out of her thoughts, rolling her eyes at how easily distracted she was recently. “I wonder who could be calling me, everyone I know lives here.” She said to the room as a whole though wasn’t expecting anyone to answer. She picked up the phone and tried to make her voice sound a bit different. Again, she wasn’t sure who knew she was alive, who knew she was dead. She didn’t know who had come to her funeral, who had sent flowers, who had been notified. She had no idea whether or not the scoobies had a funeral for her….instead of answering in her usual tone she answered in a quieter one. One that could easily be mistook for Dawn or Willow. “Hello?” She asked….waiting to hear who was on the other line.
She shook her head out of her thoughts, not wanting to rehash everything once more because she knew she would break down. As much as she cared about her sister slayer she wasn’t at all comfortable with breaking down into gut wrenching sobs in front of her. Faith had never been one to mess around with emotions and she had a feeling it would make both of them extremely uncomfortable.
“Uhh…Giles got a call a few weeks ago.” She stated, her eyes already brimming with tears but she held them in, though the look of despair in her eyes couldn’t be masked. “He got a phone call, It was from someone named Illyria.” She stated, not really knowing who Illyria was, though Willow seemed to know so she figured the girl was trust worthy. “She told us that Angel died in a battle in LA a few months ago. She just figured out how to contact me and apparently it was Angel’s wish for me to know if anything happened to him.” She told her before looking away, not wanting her sister slayer to see her tears that were desperately trying not to fall.
